I just went to this salon to buy a ball for my nipple ring and of course they can't just sell the ball understandable so I pay $10 for the jewelry then I felt bad for only wanting jewelry so I start to look around for anything else I need maybe another piercing I settle for some new nose jewelry giving them $20 sat better with me. Then I ask the guy if he can help me swap out my jewelry and he tell Me he will have to charge me an additional $10 ! I had such an amazing experience here! I went in as a walk in and called a little ahead of time. At first I was super nervous. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go through with my plan of getting my first tattoo, even though I trained all the way from Boston on vacation from Seattle. However, everyone was super friendly and supportive! I wanted to get coordinates going down along my outer ankle. I was mostly nervous because I'm very particular about things being clean and crisp, basically perfection. And pretty much what I wanted was very small, so any mess up at all would be very noticeable. Edwin and Mike both helped me sized it to what I wanted, which took 6-7 tries. They're so patient and extremely understanding, they want you to love it! Big Mike tattooed me and he was wonderful. He made me feel super comfortable and at ease, I knew I could trust him. He hasn't done many tiny tattoos, but he did mine beautifully and perfectly! The line work was super clean and crisp, everything was exact like it came out of a printer. Also, as a person, he is a cool guy to talk to! I ended up talking with all the artists that were there, and I can tell that everyone here is very serious about their reputation. A: my artist worked on one ear lobe for 30 min B: I sat for 30 min wondering why he kept tugging, grunting, and dropping his tools without sanitizing C: I sat for 30 min hoping I wouldn't lose my ear D: he wasn't sure what he was doing E: he wasn't communicating with me. The whole process felt forced and half-ass, leaving me with no choice but to walk away with an unfinished outcome. I have never walked away from a session before. Even a friend of mine had a far better experience with a DIY kit ordered from Amazon. If you want to get ripped off by immatures who sanitize your money instead of their toolset, be my guest. Joseph did a beautiful job on kickstarting my floral sleeve with a set of huge, gorgeous roses. He checked in with me often, made sure I was comfortable, and above all happy with the direction my tattoo was going in each step of the way. Her original price quote was higher than I had wanted, but once I told her my price range, she was able to slightly adapt the design and size so that I wouldn't be over budget. She gave great advice about placement and simplifying the design without oversimplifying (which is a hard line to walk). Listen, do yourself a favor and go to a reputable piercing shop. They might do tattoos alright but umm as far as putting holes in my body I would never let them. This place, like many other crappy parlors around NYC, really annoy me because there are way too much uneducated customers getting body art from people who don't know what the hell they are doing. I came in here to inquire about a forward helix piercing because the shop looked pretty nice and it is closer to my job than the shops I go to. The guy I spoke with pulled out some cheap silver butterfly-back earrings that probably come with a studex system from his dusty jewelry case. What is this, 1997? As someone with multiple piercings I suggest you save yourself a trip to the doctor and go to shops that carry quality jewelry and have educated employees. I came in here to get a birthday tattoo but the vibe was really off. I asked for a small anchor but I was open to the style/ He drew one for me, but I didn't like it. I also didn't like the ones in the book. At the time, there were other people who walked into the shop. They had brought in outside food and they were first told they couldn't eat, then they were told it was fine. Since there were other customers. I figured I'd leave, find an image that I liked and come back in an hour or so. The guy was obviously upset and rude. He felt the need to say he "turned away someone else" because I was coming. I had every intention of coming back because this was my birthday gift to me but not after that. It's not my first tattoo but if it were and I had gotten nervous or changed my mind, I would never expect a tattoo artist to be so rude and make me feel bad. The sad thing is, I actually got my industrial pierced here and I brought my friend to get her piercings done here. I had to take out my piercing and was going to come back to get it done again but certainly not after today's experience. The piercer was super nice.
