I was looking for a good, clean and close piercing shop instead of traveling all the way to manhattan and came across Crown Ink Studio! It was 12 minutes from me so I decided to make an appointment after seeing all the great reviews. I went here two days ago to get both of my nostrils pierced by Ana and the experience was perfect! Ana was very informative, made sure the measurements were right and that I liked the placement, the space was very clean and there was little to no wait time to get serviced at all! I ended up paying $80 for both piercings which is the usual prices I've been seeing so I was more than willing to pay. I haven't had any problems so far and i absolutely love my new piercings so i definitely recommend this place! 10/10!!!! Will be coming back if i decide to get another piercing. read more

I have been rolling around the idea of getting more piercings in my ears. I was strolling by Crown Ink and thought, maybe I should pop in. I quick glance at Yelp, good ratings and everyone mentioned Ana by name for their piercings. So I walked in and spoke with Ana. Prices were reasonable, it was very clean/sanitary and you were in the back by yourself where no one can see you if you cry like a baby after getting pierced. I spoke with some of the tattoo artist, everyone seemed friendly. Ana asked me did I want to buy some saline solution for $10 afterwards, I thought I could get it at Walgreen's cheaper, it was only $1 cheaper and it had a worst possible nozzle on it, so definitely buy it from Ana. I went to Steel Star to get a new nose ring- wanted to change my stud for a hoop. They have a wide selection! I went for a gold plated surgical steel hoop, which was only $5. 14 karat options were in the $30-$50 range, which I didn't want to spend at the time. Steel Star has policy where jewelry can only be changed in-store by an employee- not sure why, but I'm sure there is a good reason! Unsure of how exactly to change the piercing by myself, I happily paid the $5. We went to a back booth to change it, which was clean and well-lit. She expertly sterilized the area and put in the new ring! I'm very happy with my new nose ring! Overall, the whole thing- new nose ring and jewelry change- was $10. read more

I went here recently on a Tuesday night with 2 friends. As soon as we entered we were greeted and given assistance on what we wanted done. Ana shared what the best jewelry was for sensitive skin and was very knowledgeable in all aspects of a piercing. She was extremely kind and patient. I was unsure of whether I should even get a piercing because I was only supposed to be there to support my friends. After seeing the process of how smoothly everything went with them, I was quick to jump on board. The process was quick and simple. She took her time when showing where the piercing will be and making sure you liked it. Then she used a needle to pierce it. The shop also sells soap and saltine solution, so you don't have to go out of your way to buy it for your piercing. Before you leave she gives you care instructions along with a paper with her name, type of piercing, type of jewelry, how long it will take to heal and the earliest change date. This was nice because in the moment places may telI you all this information, but people forget. I will definitely be coming back to get some more piercings, this has officially become my new piercing spot! To add on this establishment was spacious, well lit and decorated. They a have a huge variety of jewelry to choose from fake to 14k gold. They also do tattoos, but I'm not at that point yet. So I can't speak on that aspect of the shop. read more

I would recommend anyone interested in doing a piercing to go to Ana at Crown Ink Studio. To begin with the location is convenient, the facility is inviting and most of all very clean. Ana is patient with you beginning from the start of setting the appointment. First she shows you your options in earrings, then she shows you what you picked out before putting it on, then she explains the process as she goes along so you see what she is doing and then its over and she explains to you how to manage it until its healed. I took my 16 yr. old daughter for her birthday to get a nose piercing, upper ear piercing and reopening of her 2nd hole piercing and she was perfectly fine. I have mixed feelings about this place. I came to get my nipples pierced as a birthday present to myself. I liked the vibe of the piercer. She's really friendly, very calm, and I felt totally comfortable with her. I didn't like the selection of jewelry, or the fact that they don't use a autoclave on site and have you sign a slip that goes into the autoclave with your jewelry like I've experienced in other piercing shops. She used externally threaded jewelry on my piercing, and it was too short, and she seemed to know it was too short to allow it to heal well because she even suggested I come back to change the jewelry. I get that she may not have realized it was too short at first, but on a new piercing it's also not a wise Idea to use externally threaded jewelry. The shop only had stainless steel, which comes in many grades, so it's not necessarily the best for piercing. Also, she pierced through my areola, with jewelry that was too short, so it tugged. Suffice to say, I had to get one of them taken out by a different piercer. It's now healing, and I'll have to pay to get it redone. I had to purchase a new, longer, titanium barbell for the other one, and it was painful to remove the stainless steel one because of the external threading. Also, i was given iodized salt to clean the piercing. Iodized salt should never be used on a piercing. So, I have mixed feelings. If I were getting my ear done, this would probably be a great place. Ears are easy. Nipples.. not so easy to do correctly. The piercer I started going to now is APP certified, and I didn't realize until I did more research exactly how important that is. I really think the piercer at Steel Star would be absolutely amazing if she had better equipment and supplies, and perhaps a little more training in more difficult piercings. read more

Last week, I found this place on Yelp while visiting a friend in Brooklyn and decided to go in because my nose ring was infected (don't use silver, guys!) Anna helped me find a better stud, then swapped it out for me and my nose has since healed beautifully. I loved Anna's energy, and decided to get two new ear piercings with her that day, one mid-ear, and one helix. Anna gave super advice, was super sanitary, and made the process quick and seamless.
