This place is off the charts. Bought a used car for my son who will be living in the area. Had been impressed by Yelp reviews so stopped by to inquire about some problem areas identified by a local dealership. They gave me estimates that were half what the dealership would have charged, but better yet, advised to just keep an eye on the problem but take no immediate action. David was working the desk and was amazing to watch his productivity in assisting customers. He must have dealt with 5 or 6 customers while waiting on me but never did I feel neglected. The whole group seemed like a well oiled machine working together for optimal customer satisfaction. Although they work by appointment only David was able to replace a minor part while I was waiting for the estimate. I have not seen such a friendly and productive shop in my entire life. Caught myself telling them I looked forward to coming back. Not a statement one would usually make to a repair shop. Go there, they will treat you right. read more

Initially quoted me $360 originally which I agreed to, then when they completed the work they called to tell me the good news that it was only going to cost me $230. These guys are honest and do customer service really well. Always very upfront about costs and what I COULD do versus other options which may better suit my budget. They have never made me feel dumb for not knowing "car stuff," and always patiently explained to me how things work when I've had questions. I had a wonderful experience here. The place was completely clean, all of the workers were extremely professional, and I felt very at home! I took my car here to get a last-minute oil change before a trip after being denied from my normal place because of schedule. They also took the time to look at my car's overall health and ended up recommending $1700 worth of repairs and maintenance (spark plugs, coolant, brakes, engine timing belt) that I thought was probably a racket, but when I brought it in to my normal guys they confirmed that Big Bend Auto had gotten it right. My normal guys quoted me a cheaper price of $1100 but I think I got a family/friend's discount. Overall, would recommend. Thanks big bend auto! read more

It didn't take me very long to build trust with these guys. Even though they've got to be the busiest guys in town, they are almost always open and ready for an oil change, and are super flexible when stuff hits the fan. They never upsale, the costs are always reasonable and expected, and they always give good advice and take the extra effort to look out for you and your vehicle. The owner told me I had a % left on my back breaks and that I may consider replacing them when the oil is changed next. Very low key. I first came here to get a new set of tires in April when I had found two nails in one of them. These guys got me in right away, explained all of my options to me and recommended the most reasonably priced one rather than the most expensive. I brought my dog in to take her for a walk while they did the work and they even had treats for her! I've been very satisfied with the work they did. Fast forward to today. I get in the car to go on a roadtrip and discover another nail in my tire! I called these guys. They got me in right away AND they patched it up for free even though the nail was definitely not their fault. My experience at this place was por and I would never go back. I had called the center in advance and booked an appointment to have an emissions test carried out on my car. I visited the next day on time and was kept waiting about 15 minutes while the Mechanic on duty was discussing his condos/holiday home in Miami with another customer. When I finally managed to get his attention he said he had no such appointment booked in. When I tried discussing the situation with the mechanic in the center he could not of been less interested and said there was nothing he could do. When I lived in St. Louis from 2000-2003, I stumbled upon Big Bend Auto because they were fairly close to my neighborhood and appeared to have received good reviews. Best car-related decision ever. Their work was always quick and reasonably priced. The staff were always exceptionally friendly and treated me, as a young single woman, with respect (none of the condescending explanations or dismissals I have experienced with so many other mechanics). Today, some thirteen years later, I found myself visiting from out-of-town and noticed a concerning issue with my car. I called Big Bend on the off-chance that they might at least look at the car to tell me if it was safe to drive the 200 miles back to my current home. Not only did they work my car in on a busy day with a full shop, but they looked at it immediately (knowing I was heading out of town), assessed the issue and provided me with a temporary fix that would allow me to return home as planned. Cost? $20. This is the kind of service that so rarely exists these days. They know I won't likely be a return customer, and they surely could have made more money during the 30-minute consultation they gave me working on the many cars they had in the shop, but they took genuine interest in me and went far above and beyond what I would expect any mechanics to do.
