Located where the old Lumber house was. They changed up the decor and food options. Beer is pretty good and the staff are nice. Chicken tenders were juicy and had a slight brine pickle flavor like the menu said, and they weren't overpowering, just right. Fries crispy and delicious. Burger was your average burger, nothing special. Could use more seasoning. I'd go back for the beer and fries and chicken tenders for sure!

    Buffalo chicken salad

Great bar food. I had the bacon blue cheese burger it was delicious came with fries. 1/3 lb burger very filling. My wife had the buffalo chicken salad. I have heard the wings are very good. Will be coming back. It's nice to have KID friendly options at a brew pub out here great service.

Several dining tables are available inside and it looks like outdoor seating is available in nice weather. A few parking spots are available by the entrance with most off to the side of the building. On the day of our visit the bartender was holding down the fort, but as it was half an hour past opening and no one was there, it wasn't a taxing job. We chatted a bit and found game days often see a big crowd here. Depending on the time of the game. (Black Diamond is a bit of a sleepy town.) Full bar includes wine and several draft beer options. Check their web page for Happy Hour specials and Trivia night info. The menu offers a variety of food option. A few Polish food choices along with other items such as hotdogs, wings, calamari, burgers, chicken Ceasar salad, etc. This is a very nice venue. I sauntered in like a champion heifer entering the show ring, only to find the bar manager evaluating tap lines with the same precision as a certified livestock judge at the World Dairy Expo. The draft list is organized by breed characteristics - I mean, beer styles - with scoring cards that would make the American Dairy Science Association blush. The head bartender, a former 4-H Grand Champion (dairy cattle division), approaches each pour with the same dedication she once showed while preparing her prize-winning Jersey for the Supreme Champion competition. She inspects each glass with the thoroughness of a udder examination at the World Beef Expo. Their flight paddle, "The Grand Champion," arrives presented on a bed of cedar shavings (food-grade, obviously) that would make any show barn proud. Each beer is scored on a point system suspiciously similar to the Holstein Association USA's Linear Classification Program - with categories like "Body Depth" and "Dairy Form" replaced with "Head Retention" and "Hop Expression." The beer garden has been sectioned off like a livestock pavilion, with different areas designated for various beer styles. I witnessed a heated debate about proper beer classification that rivaled the intensity of the Brown Swiss Canton Show's judge's deliberation. A grizzled regular, known only as "The Cattle Whisperer," holds court at the corner table, evaluating each patron's beer selection like he's judging dairy cow confirmation. "Nice topline on that IPA," he'll mutter while taking detailed notes in what appears to be an official American Angus Association scorecard. Monthly "Show & Tell" competitions require customers to present their beers with the same poise and professionalism as a youth showmanship class. Points are deducted for improper hand position on the glass and failure to maintain eye contact with the judge. Five stars? Please. This place earns the Supreme Champion banner and Best of Show rosette! P.S. If you hear someone shout "SWITCH LEADS!" they're not talking about show ring directions - it's actually the signal for a tap rotation. The staff performs the change with the coordinated precision of a champion dairy fitting team. P.P.S. The bathroom keys are attached to show halters, and you must demonstrate proper showmanship techniques to be deemed worthy. The bouncer is a certified livestock judge, and he's not impressed by your amateur handling skills. P.P.P.S. Legend says that on competition nights, the ghost of a legendary dairy cattle judge appears to evaluate the beer selection. Flights have been found mysteriously rearranged in perfect showmanship formation. P.P.P.P.S. Their specialty cask ale program has won more ribbons than a champion Guernsey at the World Dairy Expo, and they display them with the same pride as a multi-generational dairy farm's trophy case.

**Lumber House Brewery: A Masterpiece of Craft Brewing--But Let's Talk About the Concrete Elephant…read morein the Room** Lumber House Brewery is not just **good**--it is a **revelation**, a divine temple of hops and barley, a sanctuary where beer enthusiasts gather to worship at the altar of pure, liquid perfection. The brews here? **Impeccable.** The balance of flavors, the craftsmanship, the sheer dedication poured into every pint--this is the kind of beer that **rewires your brain chemistry**, rendering all lesser beverages obsolete. The food? **Legendary.** A burger so impossibly juicy it deserves its own Netflix documentary. Fries that crunch with a level of precision that suggests **some sort of alchemical wizardry is at play**. Each dish is not just **prepared**--it is **engineered**, designed for maximum indulgence and unrestrained joy. The staff? **Incredible.** Friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their craft. Every conversation with them feels like a TED Talk on the art of brewing, and yet **somehow more engaging**. And yet--**AND YET**--let us address the single most inexplicable contradiction in human history: **LUMBER HOUSE BREWERY IS LOCATED IN A CONCRETE TILT-UP BUILDING.** Read that again. Slowly. Let it sink in. Lumber House Brewery--the very name **evokes images of rustic timber lodges**, cozy wood-paneled beer halls, the scent of sawdust mingling with the comforting aroma of freshly poured stouts. You hear "Lumber House," and you **expect** beams, planks, a structure that whispers of heritage, craftsmanship, and the sturdy embrace of dimensional lumber. But no. **Concrete.** Gray, impersonal, **unapologetically industrial concrete**. Tilted up like some sort of affront to the very concept of its name. It is an irony so stark, so **mercilessly hilarious**, that one cannot help but admire the sheer audacity of it. This is not just **a choice**--this is a **statement**, a deliberate defiance of expectations, an architectural plot twist so profound it rivals the greatest mysteries of our time. Could they have constructed a grand wooden brewery, rich in timber and nostalgic warmth? Absolutely. But instead, they **rebelled**. They chose strength over sentiment, functionality over theme, and in doing so, they **cemented--literally and figuratively--their place in history**. And somehow? **It works.** So go. Step into Lumber House Brewery's **glorious contradiction**, revel in the fact that **despite its lack of lumber**, it delivers one of the **most unforgettable** brewery experiences imaginable. Five stars. And a **moment of stunned silence for the irony**.

It's not a huge place but they have plenty of seating and comfortable brewery ambiance. Food and beer is ordered at the bar and they bring the food to wherever you're sitting. We were on a bit of time crunch and just grabbed seats at the bar. Since it was an in between meal period, they weren't super busy which was perfect. We both ordered the burger special which was a bacon bleu burger which comes with waffle fries. The waffles fries are fantastic, and an underrated fry choice, IMO. They were hot and crispy. Burgers were loaded but the knock on them was that they were over cooked for both my wife and I, while also being small compared to the bun. Overall, the flavor was still good and along with good beers (we got the Kolsch & Pale Ale) it was a 4 star experience. When we were getting ready to leave, a guy at the end of the bar received his pretzel order and it looked delicious. Will definitely come back and try that next time!

It probably just comes down to what this restaurant does well vs. what they're trying to do to accommodate everyone. Six people ordered breakfast, one person ordered a sandwich, and I ordered the Yummy Bowl because it was one of two vegan options on the lunch menu (nothing vegan on the breakfast menu). It was really bad. The flavor and texture were yucky. Nothing was seasoned except the "yummy sauce," which had the strangest flavor. It just didn't taste good. I was grateful I got a side of fries, which were excellent. I'm sure they're trying to accommodate vegans, but there is still some work to do there so the food tastes good and isn't just put together to say there is a vegan option on the menu. Everyone else loved their food. It's a nostalgic place for all of them, too, so that adds to their experience. They sat us in a room with a door, and that was lovely because it gave us some privacy and toned down the noise. For me, that was the best part of our brunch outing. We stopped by the bakery before leaving, and my husband loaded up on his favorites, and I got a loaf of San Francisco sourdough (which I ate a bit of the next day, and it was delicious). I haven't been here in years, and I probably won't be back for a while, but I will return because it's a family favorite. Maybe I'll just stick with fries and some toast next time!

We went back and forth trying to beat the lunch cutoff or just lean into the happy hour menu, and ended up doing a bit of both. We split a Caesar salad, which was fresh and really well done. For the main, we had the bacon avocado chicken wrap with tots--great flavor, definitely a solid choice. The only knock was the tots were a little on the cooling-off side and didn't quite hit the mark... although I still managed to finish them. To drink, I went with a Sky Kraken Pale Ale, which was excellent (and yes, there's photo evidence). Hey I'm retired now, I can drink at lunch!
