They moved our 2 bed/2 bath apartment from the 3rd floor to another apartment on the 2nd floor. It was a local move. They disassembled movable parts carefully and wrapped our furniture meticulously. They reassembled at the new apartment with all parts intact and accounted for. They came prepared with tools, shrink wrap, blankets, tapes, boxes and a positive CAN-DO attitude as well! For a 3-person crew and a large truck, it was under $700 including a flat $30 fuel charge. It was an affordable and smooth move. The crew took a 25-minute lunch break. Alan, the crew leader, communicated the time that was stopped for lunch and it was deducted from the total cost. Most importantly, the owner Rus was fast to respond to any questions, thorough and transparent with their prices. I totally recommend RMP Moving for your next move.

After continued discussions with Russ at RMP moving, I am updating this review to reflect our…read morecurrent resolution. Russ reached out and heard my feedback about the insufficient crew size as well as the communication issues. Russ has committed that in the future, he will be clearer about pricing, and will also increase crew sizes for pianos like mine, which makes me more hopeful. Russ also provided me with a refund that more closely matches the original pricing I was quoted, plus a bit more for our troubles. So now I am updating my recommendation to say that if Russ keeps his word and has clearer communication and expectations around pricing, and provides adequate crews for larger items, then RMP is a viable option for your moves. But definitely make sure that if you are moving a grand piano or anything else of similar weight/difficulty, that you insist on having a 4-person crew MINIMUM. Remember, my job only required RMP to unload the piano off of the truck -- when my piano was loaded up onto the ramp at the starting location, I had a different crew of 6 guys! So just definitely make sure you are very comfortable with the resources they send before the job begins, and don't let anyone talk you out of what your gut is telling you when it comes to protecting your things. But thank you to Russ for being humble enough to apologize and hear the feedback; I have had movers in the past refuse to take responsibility or criticism, so I have to be fair and give him credit. If he can hold to these commitments he made, then I hope this business can do well and succeed.

They refused to retrieve the items NOT designated junk and sent to the donation center. No clue why this was not possible because good communication skills were not in attendance in any way, shape or form. That includes management. I counted on these people to do for me what I can no longer do for myself and they failed miserably. They lost my Christmas collection. It took me more than 50 years to collect...they took it to the dump. A priceless oriental table went to the dump. An antique wooden, newly painted, porch slider...it went to the dump, too. I am still assessing the losses but nothing will make me feel better. I know it's only stuff to some, but is was my stuff, I spent a lifetime collecting it and it was up to me to dispose of, not some mover with the IQ of a tree stump. Finally, the only thing offered as compensation was some used furniture they had hanging around to replace what was lost. In other words, I can sit on a tack and spin or hold my breath 'til I turn blue. There is no compensation for the loss and no refund amount of any kind on the absolutely ridiculous amount I had to pay. Not even the tip.

The package says it's from Fedex, but there's some UPS info as well and the format doesn't really match either based on my experience in shipping. I plugged in all the tracking numbers with both logistics companies and they stated it wasn't theirs. Knowing that I reached out to the number for the shipper, Postal Connections, and spoke with Sherry. She asked for my name and number so she could research and get back to me - totally valid! A little while later I received a phone call from the intended recipient asking if she could pick it up. Which is a hard no, I want this tracked and I'm happy to do a RTS. So, Sherry shared my personal information with a random person that may or may not be a scammer. This person cleary has my phone number now, may or may not have my address, and I'm going to have to take extra time out of my day to figure out how to get this package RTS ASAP. To say that I'm displeased would be a serious understatement.

Both experiences were amazing, and smooth. The first go around we had Brandon and I believe Violet. The second time, we had Brandon again and Micah. The communication from the office tream was equally well managed! I will definitely call them again for our next move and they now have my recommondations for any friends that need this type of service. Thank you guys for making a usually stressful day, so easy!

As you can see, I normally leave positive reviews if I am impressed, and almost never any negative…read morecomment if I am disappointed. However, I feel compelled to write a negative one for this company. I got an in-person estimate from this company, which was $1295.72. I got multiple estimates, but no other company could beat this. So I hired them. We packed more than 90% of the things by ourselves. I attached photos taken at the time of home inspection performed 5 weeks prior to the move. See garage packed with boxes and living space with very few items left. Remember this is 5 weeks prior to the move. We kept putting things in storage spaces into garage. Also, since the new house is just a street away, we kept moving things by ourselves after the close date. By the time the mover arrived, there were few things left that needed to be packed. On the day of the move, they called me asking if they needed to bring anything. I asked them to bring several boxes for unpacked items. They ended up using only 5 boxes as Bill of Landing shows. Both my wife and I helped them. My wife packed almost all kitchen items since they required special care. I moved electronics (PCs, TVs, printers, etc) by myself without packing. After everything was done, they tried to charge me over $4000, but after taking a look at my puzzled face, a lead man spoke with the management, it came down to $2574.60. However, this was still twice as much as the estimate. He did not give me any warning that the final charge would be significantly higher than the estimate. I posted my initial review, and Robert called me the next day, and he said in an accusatory voice that the price went up because everything was not packed and they needed extra time packing. Give me a break! The average packing specialist costs $60 per hour. So, $1279 ($2574.60 minus $1295.72) is equivalent to 21 hours of packing. The fact is, the estimator underestimated the amount of items we had and the time it took to load/ unload them. We had two large bookcases (143" wide, and 110" wide) that needed to be separated and joined. As a result, they needed to run the truck twice. A website entitled "The Top 10 Moving Scams" says, "An 'estimator' who does a quick walk-through of your home without opening cabinets and taking note of exactly what you plan to move is going to be way off the mark." Also, in the process of moving, they broke several items, one of which was missing a part. I brought it to the lead man's attention at the end of the move. All he said was, "I will look for the missing part in our truck, and get back to you," but he never did. He did not mention anything about filing a claim. These items were not expensive, and I was not necessarily asking for compensation. All I was hoping was honest disclosure (whoever broke it should know) and prompt follow-up (the lead man did not contact me, unsure whether he even tried to find the missing part). If I had simply called them to file a claim, I am sure they would have accused me of not telling the crew on the spot, and made the filing process almost impossible. On the other hand, if a customer brings it to the crew's attention on the spot like I did, they will say,"OK, let us check, and we will get back to you," and they don't. Either way, they dodge customer's filing. After seeing my review, they called me immediately and turned their fault into mine saying, "you did not pack everything! You could have filed a claim for damaged items. It is clearly written in the contract!" I am taking this case to Small Claims Court.

Two Asian dudes showed up, barely spoke to me, one would only speak his own language while the other would then speak to me in English. They rudely took pics of my apartment, then went and sat back in their truck. After about 20 minutes, the guys came out and said they couldn't do the move because it was "unsafe". Prior to that it was because I had too many small items, and in between that I was told it was because I asked for 3 hours and they'd need 7-9 hours. I called dispatch again and told Karina she sent me two racist movers. She claimed that couldn't be. I explained my stance and she said she'd call me back. Meanwhile, I have no way to move my stuff. Karina said she would talk with her moving team and call me back. Guess what? She never did. I guess you get great service when you have the right skin color. Move your stuff yourself and save the headache. The worst company ever and I don't see how Yelp recommends them. I'm disgusted.
