After nearly 20 years of military PCS moves, I have never had any complaints about a moving company--until now. I can honestly say this was the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. This crew was completely unprofessional from start to finish. * They ignored the agreed-upon schedule. * They arrived without the basic supplies needed to do the job. * They failed to protect our door and entrance showing little to no care for our property. * They left furniture upside down after unloading and made no effort to place items properly. * They didn't even have the necessary tools to complete the job. * They refused to help set up the bed and take the TV out into place. To make matters worse, I still tipped the crew because I believe in appreciating hard work, but looking back, they absolutely did not earn it. A PCS move is already stressful enough. Military families deserve a moving company they can rely on during a PCS. Unfortunately, this company failed to meet even the most basic expectations. This company showed a complete lack of professionalism, preparation, and respect for its customers' property. I strongly recommend avoiding this company. Trusting Lile with our move was a huge mistake. They are one of the worst, most dishonest, and incompetent businesses we have ever dealt with! We hired them with Renee as our agent for our long-distance move. While she was friendly and helpful in gaining our business on our initial meetings, the move itself was chaotic and very poorly managed throughout the process. Communication was mostly non-existent and despite what was promised by Renee, our furniture was neither wrapped nor padded. This resulted in extensive damage to our furniture which took a lengthy, months long process, and a great deal of effort on our part to finally be compensated for. In addition, many of our items were not inventoried, making accounting for our possessions impossible. During the move, we could not get an answer as to where our items were and when they would be delivered. Eventually Renee told us they would be delivered after the contract date. We told her this was unacceptable and finally were able to get our items delivered on the deadline day. Since the actual weight of our items was significantly less than estimated, we were due money back from our initial payment. This should have been credited to us 4-6 weeks after delivery. However, due to failure on Lile's part to complete the necessary paperwork it took 10 weeks, numerous phone calls, and contacting the BBB for reimbursement. read more

Some of it was goo, some not so good. Movers showed up on time to load. Never did get a before and after weight like we were told we would. They did a quick and good job empt out the house. They couldn't bring the 53' trailer down our street which meant they had to load unload and load again. At destination unload they were 2 days late. Took 16 days from load to final unload. Renee with lile really needs to up her game. Communication with her was very poor. Took her 3 x to get me the right information for our driver to find out when he will show up. Very slow at responding to anything really. read more

Am I experienced with moving??? Does 28 moves in my lifetime make me an expert??? You can at least acknowledge that I have above-average experience in this area. So have all the moves been the same type? No. Everything from interstate, intrastate to intercity, intracity. I have hired national movers, local movers and moved myself, so I have a bit of experience. In prep for my next move, I had interviewed a few companies to manage our move from the Los Angeles area to the Portland area. We had everything scheduled and had received a quote that was reasonable. However, I noticed this particular agency had not included storage. 7 days before our scheduled move, they finally update the quote and the storage fees were outrageous. Wow, they were trying to pull a fast one on me. Did I mention they gave me the quote on Easter weekend? I felt trapped, knowing that we were running out of time. That's when Scott Burke of Lile stepped in to save the day. He was able to coordinate our move at a great price in 4 days. YES, 4 DAYS. Am I talking a small load to pack and ship? No, I'm talking 12,000 lbs to pack and ship. How did the whole process go? SMOOTH SAILING. Every step along the way, staff was courteous and on time. Rude. Plain and simple. The new office lady, the blonde one to your right once you walk in is very rude to delivery drivers no matter how polite or cordial you are with her. Have been here numerous times and each time has been the same. If you don't like your job maybe you should look elsewhere. Respect goes a long way, and your attitude earned your company a 1 star review. Perhaps you live a sad, miserable life outside of your 9-5, but taking it out on others is very unneeded. read more

Oh my gosh we have moved a few times and this was the best, Renee was so great to work with , she even took my calls when she was on vacation. The guys showed up on time and worked there tails off. I met with David Valencia one of the moving consultants with Lile North American. He came and did a really thorough job of evaluating what I was moving and discussing what I could expect. The moving quote was really spelled out and I felt confident with his numbers and information. David was running late due to traffic problems on 217, but he called well in advance to let me know-this showed integrity and good customer service. We have since decided not to move our things, but after talking with several movers, I definitely would have gone with Lile North American as our movers. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! Terrible, terrible service! PRICELOCK package is a scam at best!!!. We hired Lile to move our family from Vancouver,WA to Georgia. We paid a very high price tag ($27,000) and the service was the worst you can imagine!!. We started by not having a truck available on the days that we had spoken off when we got our quote from Renee. The packing time went from 2 days that Renee calculated to FIVE!! because they used a different crew each day of inexperience people that didn't know what they were doing, and didn't care to stick to a time schedule... and with a weekend in between!!. Loading took 3 DAYS instead of 1 like they said having to sleep on the couch the second night and at a friends house the last night because they had packed my bed and couch before they realized they had run out of space in the truck and we had to wait for yet another day for a different truck and making me almost miss my flight to Georgia. My stuff arrived to destination 5 days later which would've been great if they would've bother to coordinate with the crew in Atlanta, but they didn't have a crew available so we had to spend a whole week in hotels (not just me this time but with my husband and three children that had driven here) while my stuff sat in a warehouse. When they unloaded things started to come out damaged, broken, with no stickers so it was impossible to know at the end of a very long day if items the items in the inventory missing were really missing or not tagged and especially when we realized that they had removed items out of the truck when they realized that not everything was going to fit in the one truck but never changed their inventory!! But the WORST was when they told us they didn't have the weight ticket that shows how much the truck weighted once loaded with our stuff. We contracted the package called PRICELOCK which meant that they charge you for certain amount of pounds that they estimate as they walk around your home telling you not to worry if they go over on their estimate because if it ends up weighting less they will refund you the difference BUT if it goes over you don't have to pay any more money. Well....after a couple of weeks of waiting to see the weight ticket to settle the refund...they informed us that THEY NEVER WEIGHTED THE TRUCK I mean they drove across the USA but not once weighted the truck??... so they have to reconstruct the weight (based on a screwed up inventory remember?) and they would let us know. After several weeks I got an email stating that NorthAmerican corporate office had come up with a magic number right around my estimated weight and when I asked to see how they had come up with that number they very rudely declined and told me they didn't have to. All I could do was to take their word that that is how much my load weighted no questions asked!!! I tried to call anyone that I could think of, leaving messages and getting NO ANSWERS from Lile or NorthAmerican. After paying more than $27,000 I feel almost scammed, as I payed a lot of money for terrible service, unprofessional and uncaring service and for a fee that they have failed to prove was due to them. Our move was handled seamlessly from beginning to end! The movers worked quickly and efficiently, but were careful of our furniture, including some antique pieces that have been in the family for over a century. I was a little worried about moving them, but the movers gently wrapped all furniture and placed the items in our new home right where we wanted them without a scratch! They even had to change some furniture from one room to another, which was all done carefully and cheerfully. Renee and her team were amazing. Had to direct the packers, but they will listen and pack as you direct. They were quick and packed everything securely. This being my 10th move, it was by far the best move!! The driver and the loaders were amazing. They did an outstanding job on the load and unload. I have to say the driver Owen was great. Jeff, the manager was very professional and extremely helpful in dealing with several weekly deliveries as well as pick ups directly from the warehouse. Movimg is hard and stressful! Having a company like Lile help me made the experience much easier. Renee was lovely to work with each step of the way, from her home visit to give me information and an estimate, email contact to answer questions, to her follow up calls during and after the actual move. The moving crew of 6 was on time, very professional, very accommodating of my requests, and very strong! I was worried about moving my grand piano, but they brought in a specialist to help make sure it was packed and loaded properly, then it was carefully unloaded and set up st the new home. Am extremely pleased in working with the Lile team....from the estimating to the finish of the move. Staff were easy to work with and flexible with my schedule. My furniture was moved with virtually no issues, which was impressive given the heavy furniture and the required maneuvering up stairs and around tight corners in my new place. The moving team was courteous and considerate of where I wanted items placed. And...the price was very reasonable! This company is terrible and very unprofessional. In my opinion, they are a criminally negligent enterprise who conspired with the parent company to increase my moving expenses 30%. I was given an estimate to move our possessions from Vancouver, Wa. to Sarasota, Fl. of $6,000. This was told to me by my agent, Jessica at Lile. She never said anything about a seasonal adjustment or that the final charges would be determined by North American in Indiana nor was it ever indicated in our contract or paperwork. Our property went into storage and it was packed and.moved by Lile. We were charged time and a half for our move as it was on Saturday and three people were sent to pack up our belongings. Only one if them was competent and had any packing skills, the other two were very young and not mature and had no packing skills as evidenced by the $ 2,600 damages incurred in our move. When I questioned the increase in fees for the move I was abruptly told if I didn't pay the $ 8,200 charge my property would not be delivered to me. In essence my property was being held hostage for the increased fee. I, obviously relented and agreed to pay the fee. I did consult an attorney here in Florida, for a fee, to find out that if I filed a complaint in small claims court, my legal fees would exceed any compensation that I would possibly receive. Now, in my opinion, if this is not fraud or criminal conspiracy, I don't know what is. So, after spending countless hours on the phone with both Lile and North American our moving debacle has come to an end. Our insurance policy which cost us almost $ 500 hardly covered any of our loses as the moving company made the decision of all my personal damaged property without accepting any appraisals from an appraiser on our damaged and ruined antiques. Again. we were duped into purchasing insurance which really wasn't insurance. The only plus to this is that my wife and I are senior citizens and this will be our last move. So, beware if you are planning a move and don't ever us Lile North American in Vancouver, Wa or North American Van Lanes anywhere. We were referred to North American Van Lines by a friend but Lile was a subsidiary. We reserved our move date about three weeks before. I told them I wanted everything shrink wrapped. They advised that they couold do better with blankets. A few days before our move date, we were told that they did not have a driver for at least a week so our possessions would have to be put in storage at our cost. Also, they told us they could not park a moving van on our street even though it was a standard two lane road with egress and ingress at each end so they would have to move our possessions to storage via shuttles. This meant that our possessions including a grand piano could be carefully loaded on the shuttles as I watched but after they arrived at Lile, everything would be unloaded into storage and in many cases un-assembled, then removed from storage and loaded onto a moving van. I told them I wanted our possessions to be loaded directly on a moving van and why. The day of our move, I found out that this was going to be the way it was. The movers were very careful and we liked them. However two weeks later when our possessions were delivered to California, North American was used. Again we liked the movers and they were careful. We have very good quality antique furniture and found upon inspection that two furniture tops were cracked on a dresser and buffet, arms on two hall trees were broken. Our master bedroom end tables had water marks on the tops and one had a soda can mark on the top An 1800's three piece china cabinet had its upper glass doors either removed or came off the hinges when someone turned the cabinet on its side. The doors were so badly jammed inside the upper cabinet that it was difficult to get them out and they were badly scratched. An antique brass coat rack had been un-assembled and most of the fittings were missing, moving boxes has been turned on their sides so cleaning chemicals and bleach had dripped out of the boxes and onto other boxes damaging towels, etc. We used moving boxes and they were all market with UP. Molding was broken off on two cabinets. I could go on and on but I have moved 11 times and have never seen such disregard for a customer's furniture as I experienced with Lile. I would not recommend them for any move and definitely the employees handling the storage of our possessions may have been responsible for the majority of the damage. Fortunately, my Grand Piano was spared damage but Lile lost the Piano sled that I purchased to move the piano. The driver had his own and used it to deliver the piano safely. What a nightmare. It has been 1 1/2 years and I just finished the last two repairs of the furniture. read more

The only reason this moving company gets one star is because there isn't anything less to choose from. My wife and I were duped into thinking that North American Van Lines would be a reputable company, boy were we wrong. We were making a major move from Battle Ground, WA to the Austin, TX area. First off, they forgot what day they were supposed to come out and move us, that was very frustrating. Secondly, they don't use professional movers, if I wanted to hire someone off Craigslist, I could have done it cheaper myself. Unfortunately, I had to leave for Texas ahead of my wife and she was stuck trying to make sure these so called movers were doing what they were supposed to do. She took some pictures of them during the move which she sent to me and in turn, I showed to my son who used to be a professional mover. My son told me, "these guys don't know what they're doing". They obviously didn't know how to load a truck as witnessed by all our stuff strewn in our driveway and front yard. My son told me they should know what things go where on that truck and then go right from the house and directly into the truck. As our things went to Vancouver temporarily before heading to Austin, we found this to be true as a computer desk we had, was completely destroyed between the 10 mile move from Battle Ground to Vancouver. They moved our things from Vancouver to Austin and into a storage unit until we could purchase a home in the area. When we finally retrieved our things about 3 months later, we found numerous broken items, missing items and things that didn't even belong to us. We were told that someone from North American would come and look at the items in question that were broke, but they never did, nor did they do anything to try and retrieve our missing items. Considering the truck keeps logs of their trip, one would think that it wouldn't be that hard to track things down along the trip. We had a different local mover that moved our things from the storage unit to our new home and he said the same thing as our son did, they didn't know what they were doing. Again, as I stated earlier, these are not professional people, as I witnessed the truck driver pay his three helpers cash after unloading our things into the storage unit. Often wondered if they claim that money on taxes, do they pay worker's comp, etc, etc. As others have stated in reviews, North American pays pennies on the dollar for their incompetence. I figure between broken and lost items, North American owes us around $3500 of which they sent us about $300 to reimburse us. We never cashed their check as this doesn't even come close to paying for the damages due to their gross negligence and incompetence. I write this as just a word to the wise, use North American Van Lines at your own risk. read more

We had an intra-state move from Vancouver, WA to Mount Vernon, WA, which went very well, overall. Our total cost was below estimate and Renee, our customer service rep, arranged for many used boxes, including wardrobes and packing paper, to be given to us, saving several hundred dollars. (This may not always be available, depending on what they have on hand, I imagine.) Our driver, Roland was very attentive and detail oriented. The only reason this isn't a five is that we were told that we would have the same crew delivering that we had for loading (which went very well). At delivery, however, Roland, the driver was there, as well as Stephan, from our original crew and they were great! But, they used three local labor guys who were not so good. One had issues we sympathized with, but which led to some minor damage. Roland took charge and contacted the day labor manager, who came on site and discretely dismissed the guy. He seemed ok with it and it is actually an additional plus for Lile's service. read more

I still regret my decision to hire Lile, 3 months later. I just received a paltry $100 (good faith) claim check for damages. They said I deserved nothing because I had a $300 deductible. However I was due 100% of my claim because the damage was done not in transit, but as they were loading, which they are responsible for, 100%. I hired Lile to pack and move us to our new home. First, estimate was WAY off the mark. Ultimately cost us double. Packing was very poor... They packed the wrong items (food!) and left a lot of our kitchen unpacked so I had to do it that night. They were slow, took a very long lunch break for which WE were paying by the hour. Moving day brought damages, especially to an expensive torchiere which they destroyed by running a hand truck over the base. No mattress or large TV boxes provided. They had me sign documents at new home, after we had moved, we were rushed out the door and didn't do a walk thru, I was unaware they'd left several big boxes hidden in closets we had to move ourselves late that night. It will be a long time before I lose this deep resentment. Lesson learned, check Yelp before hiring a mover. I wish I had seen these other reviews before I hired Lile. Buyer beware!!! read more

Lile recently moved my family of five and a 3500 sq ft + house from Philadelphia, PA to Vancouver, WA. Our move was part of a corporate relocation; however, Lile went out of their way to make sure our move was still priced as reasonably as possible. Scott Burke handled all of the initial coordination details including our auto shipments and went above and beyond to make sure the move went as seamless as possible. Lile worked with us to accommodate our dates during end of July, early August peak season and coordinated an exact delivery date so our family could enjoy a cross country road trip in between. Greg Seebold was our driver and in charge of the moving crew who packed us and delivered our furniture. His team on both ends did not damage anything and took great care of our personal possessions and made sure our houses on both sides of the move were undamaged. You hear horror stories about moving companies and our experience was so unbelievably smooth with such a huge move I just had to write a review. Highly, highly recommend and if you can get Scott and Greg as part of your move - you are in the best hands in the industry! read more
