I was traveling through Utah and experienced an issue with a tire on my Class A RV. I spoke with Jonas and he said that there was time available if I wanted to bring it by. My tire was experiencing a slow leak and the leak could not be found, so they basically rebuilt the tire!! Within 90 minutes my issue was troubleshot and I was back on the road. Here is the kicker; for all the work done by Quinn (outstanding professional), Jay's Tire did not want any payment!! I was blown away! I cannot recommend this place enough. The customer service and professionalism of Jonas and Quinn won me over. Holy cow... the customer service that we received at Jays was not expected but my gosh was it appreciated! Bar none the best experience I've had at a tire shop. We were traveling across the western US in a rental motorhome and as we were leaving Salt Lake, we had a major flat. We quickly got off of the highway and within about a minute, saw this tire shop and decided to pull in. Told them we needed a plug or a spare change. Within five minutes of showing up, Brandon had the motorhome on Jack's with the tires getting removed. Within 20 minutes, we were on the road again! All of this for $35!! Not only terrible service but dishonest. I was quoted a price and ordered tires over the phone several weeks ago by Nick. Never received a call to let me know the tires were in stock. They informed me the tires were returned to their warehouse when I called. I reordered the same tires and was given a new quote over the phone today, however the new quote did not include a warranty! Then when arriving, they increased the price! Bad business practice. Just called Big-O tires and willing to spend an extra $150 for the same tires that actually include a warranty. Installed the same day, good service. Unfortunately my family will not be using Jays in the future. read more

One star on this review is much too generous. This place had my car for three weeks and still didn't get all of the work done and couldn't find the part for my car ( I found it and I'm not a mechanic) they said they done all this work on my car but yet all I found is that a plug on my spark plug was left unplugged and also my $125 air filter was missing. I was also driving my classic car around without an air filter for three days. I contacted the shop and was told the tech swears they put it in because he remembers it was a pain to put in. That's total BS my intake just has two bolts that are tightened by hand and when I called them out on that they said they agreed with me that the tech was lying and said they will find it or replace it. It's been a week and no air filter and not even a call or return text. I will not give any business to this place ever again and I will also let everyone I know and come across to never go here. read more

The mechanics are knowledgeable & most of the workers are honest but one worker named Brandon told me a different price on the phone, when I came to the place Brandon charged me almost $60 more than the original price. Had a great first experience at Jay's Tire Pros! I worked with Collin and he was amazing ! I went in originally to have my tire patched and my admissions done. I was soon notified that my front wheel barring was potentially about to break. (I was also provided with video evidence) This meant that it would cost more than I had anticipated. Soon after, I was called and told that their first diagnostics of the wheel barring was incorrect and the axel nut was lose. This came as a huge relief to me. Overall, I had a great experience because a lot of places out there would have taken advantage of the situation and overcharged the customer. These men were incredible and SO helpful. We got a flat tire on our rental car while traveling and the rental car company told us to figure it out ourselves and couldn't tell us if the insurance we purchased protected a flat tire. We found Jay's Tire Pros and told them what happened and they immediately patched and changed our tire at no charge and got us out of there so quick. My bf took his car in to have back tires changed. when that was done, they recommended an alignment, which he agreed too. He paid and left and drove to get his 2 children. When he pushed the brakes, the car started shaking violently, which it never did before. He took it back to the shop and he was told nothing was wrong and to just to watch it. He knew something was wrong so he went to jiffy lube. Jiffy lube saw it was the tire rods. Then he drove the car back to this shop and told them it was the tire rods. They then refused to fix the issue unless he paid out for new brakes and rotors. He didn't need new ones. he just wanted the tire rods tighten. They refused and told him to kick rocks. He went to jiffy lube and got the problem fixed. Their mistake cost us $430 in damages that they caused then refused to repair while trying to con us out of more money. Save yourself the worry, danger and money and just go to jiffy lube. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. Angel (salesman) told me my truck would "more than likely be done same day" .... 10 minutes before closing time I called in to get an update. Angel was short with me. Condescending. Belittling. "I said more than likely. I didn't guarantee it." So I said it would've been nice to get an update. Angel "yea that's why I'm giving you an update right now!" Keep in mind I called in. He said "I'll call you tomorrow and let you know if we can get around to it".... Inferring it might not get done next day as well. Had mentioned to angel the amount of expensive items in my back seat so asked to please keep it locked. After the unprofessional phone call from angel I decided to drive by the shop. Upon seeing the truck. My drivers side window was down. Completely down. It was the closest truck to the busiest street in bountiful (500 west) and to top it off, It was unlocked. After I had specified to please Make sure it stayed locked. Multiple times. Went inside at closing time and Angel was shocked to see me. He was rude. Joking around with his work homies. Not working at all. Again condescending. Didn't like I called out the poor job he had done that day Stood up and got in my face. Shouldered his way past me and stepped outside as if he wanted to start an altercation. Then continued to let me know he didn't owe me a phone call. Proceeded to say he had been watching my truck so it didn't need to be locked. And that the owner would back up everything he had done up until that point. All on camera. Shoulder check on camera. I took my keys and left. The only thing touched on the truck by any employee was rolling the window down and making sure it was NOT locked. I Got in touch with the owner Jay. Had no interest in a phone call with me. Had no Interest in making things right. Wanted to compare a same day Simple truck fix to getting his snowmobiles and trailer back from extensive servicing. Acted put off on the phone. "Yea we could've done a better job" no solutions to anything. Nothing about having a talk with angel. No help. No offer to bring it back in and make it right. So I asked for the video inside the office of his employee putting his hands on me. He denied and said I would have no access. 0 stars. Punk/ Violent employee named Angel who thinks he is a gift to the world because he has worked there for 16 years. I've only ever heard good things about this place. I've brought my car in before and they checked it out, found out something SUPER simple had to be done with the car and refused payment because it was a simple fix. These guys are the real deal. This place was highly recommended to me and I was very disappointed with the service and friendliness of the employees. I took both of my Honda accords in at the same time to get serviced this last February. I never write reviews but I am a little frustrated with what has happened. 1) 2014 Honda accord Had them rotate and balance my tires and change the oil. I gave them synthetic oil and they didn't give what was left back. So I had to go ask them a day later to get the rest. That wasn't a huge deal. What annoyed me was that the windshield wiper cap was left off and the oil cap was loose and there was oil spilt on the top of the motor. They forgot to put one of my air caps on my tire back on and when they rebalanced my tires they used a knife or something to scratch off the weights. This left huge noticeable gashes on the inside of my tires. 2) 2006 Honda Accord Coupe Had them replace the front crank shaft seal because there was a burning oil smell. On the way home the check engine light came on. Took it back in and they said it was from my catalytic converter and then said I needed my master and slave cylinder replaced for my clutch. I trusted them and had them fix it. When I got back home I look under the hood and found my engine was not put back together all the way. The break fluid reservoir was hanging by the belts, the windshield wiper cap was off and I found trash in my motor. I looked back behind the motor and found that a large bolt the size of my finger was missing. I managed to find it stuck in a crack, and put it back on with some tools. I called the shop and let them know what had happened and they didn't offer to make it right at all and just blamed it on one of their techs. I did not feel safe driving this so I went to a different tire pros located in Provo since it was under warranty. They were very nice and understanding and checked the entire job that was done by Jay's Tire Pros. The mechanic was very surprised how poorly everything was done on my car. He told me that all the bolts were only finger tight so he went through it all and made sure everything was safe. Now I am in California stranded because my master cylinder is broken from the technician from Jay's Tire Pros who insisted it needed to be fixed. He didn't do the job right. Like I said I hate writing reviews because they can sound mean, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. I say that as nicely as I can, I just would hate for someone to have the same experience I have had. I had complaints with both cars and one of my cars was a simple maintenance and they couldn't even do that correctly. read more

I got a flat tire on the freeway and selected this place because it was the closest to where I got it. My initial impression was really good, great service, and super fast. That day I happened to leave my wallet there and I thought it was lost. The next day I got a call from them and they found my wallet. They kept it safe for me until I could pick it up and everything was still in there and in tact. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I was recently in Bountiful when I got a flat tire. I put my spare on and looked for the closest place to have it repaired. I came across Jay's tires and called them to see what the charge would be. I was quoted $8.00 which was okay with me. I went in and had the tire fixed when I went to pay them I was told there was no charge. If I could give 0 I would. Had our front breaks and rotors done through them, and after it made a terrible noise. We took it back and they said "it was the heat shield" and the noise was gone. Cool. For the last few months our BMW breaks squeaked when we would stop. Annoying. Last week it started sounding like nails on a chalkboard even without breaking. Took it back to jays thinking maybe a pebble in the pad or something and they said that NOTHING WAS WRONG AND THEY HEARD NO NOISE! Mind blown cause it was obvious there was a noise. did they just not wanna deal with it? So we took it to All Star Auto in Layton, and they discovered that the reason for the the noise was because the heat shield (once again) was not re installed correctly when the breaks and rotors were done and now the heat shield had eaten our brand new rotor up. So now we need to do our breaks and rotors AGAIN. Currently making a complain to Jays to see if we can get refunded or if they will buy us new breaks and rotors. All of this could've been avoided. read more

We used to like these guys but something changed. We purchased our tires from them a while back and were satisfied with the service. Recently we had a problem with vibrations and something rattling underneath. We asked them to balance the tires and check the rattling. They told us it was the spare tire rattling. After we picked it up the rattling continued and the vibrations continued when getting on the freeway. We decided to take it somewhere else for a second opinion. They told us the tires were balanced incorrectly and they found a leaf spring that was completely broken and could have slid out and really damaged our rim/tire. They are super slow and not real personable. I won't be taking my car here anymore. read more

We needed tire rotation, tire balancing and to figure out what the "rattle" was. Tires were rotated, balancing wasn't done (even though we were told it was) and that rattle we were told was our spare tire. Wrong! It was a broken leaf spring, which can be quite dangerous! It's Saturday afternoon, took my car in Tuesday, was told it needed the flywheel and starter replaced, gave the okay to proceed at about 1:30 that afternoon and was told it would "probably" be ready Wednesday afternoon; late Wednesday afternoon hadn't heard anything so called and was told they weren't sure so to be fair I said I'd plan on Thursday, was told "yeah, probably"; called Thursday afternoon and was told it wasn't ready so I said "Friday for sure" - this is my only means of transportation. Arranged for my daughter to take me over Friday afternoon to pick it up but thought I better call first - after being on hold for 20 minutes and talking to several people it seems the work hadn't even been started, the excuse was given that the original person I was dealing with was "relatively new" - I guess this was supposed to excuse the fiasco that was or wasn't taking place with my car but it sure didn't instill confidence in the quality of mechanics they employ! But Travis is trying to make this better and they will tear it down tonight (Friday) and start the repairs in the morning (Saturday); I asked him to confirm a time that it would be completely repaired and ready for pick up and we agreed on 3 pm Saturday, I made arrangements for a ride over to get it. At 11:20 Saturday I received a call saying that the part they had was incorrect and they wouldn't be able to get one in (from California) until "at least Tuesday because it's Saturday and most parts places are closed". I don't know when I will see my car again and I really don't have much confidence in the repairs that will be done but I'll be glad to have it back and promise myself and my car that I will never take it there again! I have to repeat what another reviewer said - their attitude has been "well that's the way it is" - not even an insincere apology. Maybe for tires they're okay but beware about repairs!!! read more

Went to have my oil changed, snow tires removed, and registration renewed. Came home and a few hours later went to run some errands. When I pulled out of the garage, there was a huge oil spot that had leaked from my car. So I took my car back down to the shop asked them to see what the issue was. The oil pan was stripped. They broke my oil pan and expected me to pay for it. $430 dollars later, no thanks! read more

Moved back to Utah seven years ago and tried several garages. With a car that is 22 years old and almost 180,000 miles on it, having a good mechanic is a matter of survival! I found Jay's Tire Pros initially when buying tires; then discovered that they are excellent at fixing everything else. Three times so far, I have had my car towed into Jay's. It is always good to know that you can rely on talented Mechanics and Service Writers that will not take advantage of a bad situation. Though it is only three blocks home, I have never had to ask for a ride during storms. This happened once in a downpour and again in a blizzard. When the part came in the next morning, boom, the car is done and waiting! People that are considerate about their customers are rare. That is why I keep coming back and always enjoy doing business here! read more

On March 1, 2019 I went in to purchase tires and have my oil changed at Jay's in Bountiful. A week or so after my oil change, I could see that I was leaking oil. I never had any leaks before. From where it was leaking from, I was pretty sure that they had not tightened the oil plug. I took it back in and they looked at it and sure enough, it was a loose oil plug. Without apology, they tightened it. I wasn't mad because I do know sometimes things happen. But there's more........Today I was pulling out of my driveway and all of a sudden my oil light came on. I immediately stopped and found my oil filter laying in the road and oil everywhere. I took it to another shop and they confirmed that Jay's did not have the oil filter on properly. So it cost me two hours of my life, a bunch of kitty litter to clean up the oil, having to have my car serviced 50 days from the time I had before, and my car having to be towed. But at least I didn't blow my engine. They are nice guys but you can decide if it's worth the risk read more

I called and guess what it wasn't done by the time they had promised couldn't even get it done by the end of the day this was the second time and its unacceptable the customer comes first read more

I just had some tires installed at Jay's shop. The tires were purchased through Tirebuyer.com. I was disgusted to see that my wheels were damaged during the tire installation. Yes, the wheels were coated with Plasti Dip, that I can fix, but many if the scratches are all the way down through the wheel coatings to bare metal. Also, the customer service was sub par. The gentleman that greeted me just shoved a paper in my face and said "fill this out and, I will need your keys". He did ask if I was going to wait for the tires to be installed, but turned his back to me while I was responding to his question. In all, I definitely would have been better off, having the tires delivered to a different installer. read more

I originally went to Burt Brothers to get a quote on a fix. Burt Brother's wanted $1,100 dollars to replace struts, strut mounts and alignment. Called Jay's Tire Pros and they quoted me $475 out the door for the exact same job. Not all the people there are great, but was helped by a guy named Micah who really was interested in helping a customer have a good experience. If you go there, ask for Micah, I can't say the same for the other reps there. read more
