We went here to buy the fish for our Christmas Eve celebration and ordered ahead for a seamless pickup. We ordered a few days ahead of time and paid when we got to the store. We arrived around 10:30am and were helped immediately. The employees were very friendly and double checked the portions with us before providing us the order. They are curteous, clean, have a wide variety of seafood, to choose from. They also cut it, which ever way you want.

Old seafood made to look good.....this s barely fresh..don't be fooled...the prices are cheap..because it's on the edge of spoiling...and they get it for cheap prices .. The old man in the back uses a filthy bin of water..and rinses everyone's fish..in the same filthy water....... Have now been here three times, once with the intention of eating what was purchased. Other two were to confirm what I observed the first time, when I left empty-handed. Two friends still like this place, but they purchase frozen seafood, which might be OK. The so-called fresh fish had, on all occasions, none of the hallmarks of fresh, whole fish: eyes had no luster and were sunken, flesh was off-color, and skin in poor condition. The "fresh" case had nothing appealing to me as a chef. The smell of the place is not inviting or appetizing, and the cleanliness has much to be desired. Considering it's behind an old Agway and next to an industrial plant in the front yard of the town dump, I would guess it's considered a "Big Catch." Not where I come from. read more

I own the Philly Pretzel Factory about a mile away and stop in frequently. The fresh seafood selection is fantastic and the prices are fair and reasonable. Most may think they are only a wholesale seafood distributor and while this is true they are also open the public. Stop in some time, you won't be disappointed! read more

I discovered Big Catch two years ago. They are a wholesale operation w/ a small retail counter. I am a fisherman, love seafood, and have lived in every corner of this country. They have some of the freshest and reasonably priced seafood anywhere I have ever lived. And I have lived in Alaska and recently Seattle. The seasonally available wild Alaskan King Salmon was as good as any I have caught myself and lower in price than most markets in Seattle! I buy fresh oysters, clams, monkfish, swordfish, cod, flounder, sushi grade tuna, etc, it's all outstanding. I went from Medford Seafood to Big Catch one afternoon. Prices? No comparison, BC far, far less. Freshness? I'll take BC, but MS is good to. Selection? Excellent w/ several types of shellfish, lots of frozen options also. Service? BC is mainly wholesale so don't expect lots of polished employees, fast service if it's busy, but they know their product. Downside? I did buy a frozen Dover Sole and was disappointed, and they are limited in selection in the winter, but overall? A Real Catch! read more
