We loved this sample room right at the edge of Jim Thorpe. I have to give a huge thanks to Heather, she made the experience wonderful and made recommendations for other places to visit. I really give 5 stars because of the service, the chill and open space/atmosphere. We tried a flight of wine and a few cocktails. Some of the wines I didn't really care for but some were great. The spiced apple wine hands down was the winner. We took home 2 bottles of it. The prices were very reasonable, I think we paid $15 for a bottle. We came back after walking around and trying a few other places. We will absolutely back if/when we come back to Jim Thorpe! read more

Fun place to hang out near the train station in Jim Thorpe. The staff were super friendly and the overall environment was very welcoming. The wine selection was decent. My husband and I tried the two reds they had and enjoyed them both. I really liked the local art work on display and the layout is good for couples up to medium sized groups. The lady who served us was so easy going, it is worth mentioning again how great the staff is. Their tasting bar area can get packed; so we found an opening and she served us right away and said we could go ahead an find an empty table, that she trusted we would come back to settle our bill when we were ready to leave. This is a nice quaint little winery that offers some great local wines and even wine slushies. They even allow parties with outside catered food and have art exhibits with paintings on the walls for sale and live music. I come here every time I go to Jim Thorpe to sample something new and buy a bottle of wine to bring home for the lady in my life. read more

Love stopping in here for a wine tasting. You get 5 tastings for $10, which is very reasonable. Staff walked us through all the different wines and explained each, also making recommendations. The rosé had a really good scent to it and tasted just as good. Wines were a bit on the sweeter side, but we're fun to try. In previous visits we have also sat down inside and ordered some charcuterie which is a fun touch to the tasting. Full bottles are not too pricey either! read more

Stop by for a drink before or after hopping on the train, and potentially take a walk around beautiful inviting Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. The staff is very warm and inviting. They are more than happy to guide you through a flight of different wines, or hook you up with some cheeses and smoked meats. Every thing we tried was very good, and it was amplified by the friendly environment. A focus on American varietals, but still a very good choice for a mid-day refreshments. Very affordable, good value for the price point, and easy to entertain a moderate-sized group of friends. Currently you can only drink inside if you purchase a food platter, but you can still get drinks to go and walk to the little area right outside to drink them. I had the Lina's Summer Breeze and it was quite nice. I didn't try any of their wines but I would return to try more next time I'm in town. Definitely recommend. read more

To the owner(s) - you need more help. What were billed as dry reds, not really still quite sweet. Fine but be aware. Rose was good. Many more sweet wines I didn't try. The seval blanc was pretty good but not chilled not all. Why would a business not put their best foot forward? Finally had a tasting of Carme. The description was that it was an unoaked chardonnay but that it tasted "homemade". I had tried making wine and it went horribly wrong. This tasted like that. The business had to know that. Make sure that you call to get the correct location as this place has moved to the bottom of the hill. Chan pronounced "Shawn" was definitely helpful in choosing our wine selections. Big Creek Vineyards has some good wines to choose from that are affordably priced. Jim Thorpe is such a cute town and viewing the town after sampling wine is definitely more fun. Five dollars to sample eight wines is definitely a great deal! Chan told me that they will be adding some food options to accompany the larger location sometime soon. Big Creek Vineyard is my favorite stop in Jim Thorpe. Marissa, the server, shared the story of her family and the vineyard's history in a way that was both interesting and hilariously entertaining. We were almost in tears with laughter. The wine was fantastic, the atmosphere was great and the stories let you know the people behind the experience are those you want to support. There was only one couple there when I walked in. I was told I would have to order an antipasto plate in order to sit at a table. I was fine with that, even though I found it strange. The plate was of lesser quality than what you would get at Starbucks. I ordered two glasses of wine. I always enjoy dry reds, but they were bad and I left with a headache. Stopped here the day before Christmas Eve after spending all day in Jim Thorpe. There was an older gentleman behind the counter who helped us. He was very friendly and went over each wine listed for the tasting in detail, which was very helpful in deciding which ones to try. The wines were good. I normally don't care for dry wines but these were very nice. The gentleman who helped us even gave us a sample of the Gluhwein that three out of the four of us ended up ordering a glass of. My mom got a bottle of the Spiced Apple and this gentleman was kind enough to give us a bit more warm Gluhwein for the road, which was nice because the day was cold and rainy. The service was great and the wines were good. It was an all around nice atmosphere and I would definitely consider returning. read more

My girlfriend and I went here on a rainy Tuesday this past April but I am just getting around to writing a review now. Most places in Jim Thorpe were closed when we went since it was still considered out of season. The moment we walked in we were the only people in there; however to our surprise we were immediately greeted by an attentive employee who didn't miss a beat in socializing with us and offering us a personalized and genuinely friendly experience. I forget the gentleman's name but he was so wonderful. As for the quality of the wine, it was exceptional. They had Reds and Whites alike and different types. They were all different but all fresh and superb. The cheese was also great. The prices were also exceptionally low not only to taste but also to purchase. We walked out with two bottles and the helpful gent gave us a free opener and two free glasses. We will definitely go back! read more

Decided to stop in for a tasting after a day of touring Jim Thorpe. The person serving the wine was very friendly and pleasant. The space has so much potential but currently is very underwhelming. I hope as they progress the pull more history of the building into the tasting room. Right now it's a huge room with no character other than the steel beams and scale in the corner. I would also recommend they enhance their "cheese plate" - a plastic plate with ritz crackers and 6 pieces of cheese doesn't really qualify for a cheese plate, at least not at a wine tasting venue. There is a lot to be desired here and hope they have some plans for the future. read more

Fun little tasting room right next to the Jim Thorpe train station. Very nice and welcoming staff, and lots of other visitors creating a great weekend day drinking environment. However...wines were not very good at all. My friend liked the rose, but it tasted like grape juice. For me, wine tasting is like 80% about just the experience rather than the wine itself. 2 of the 3 wines we tasted had horrible defects the red tasted and smelled like acetone and the white smelled like a urinal cake. My wife liked the rosé (I did not) to me it tasted like boons farm strawberry. These wines are about $10 but with cheap California wines to compete with the folks in Jim Thorpe are going to have to step up the wine game. I was going to leave a 1 star review but my wife talked me out of it because the service was ok. The best I can say is that this place made me appreciate every other vineyard I have ever been to. read more
