Great beer/drink selection, friendly service and a cool atmosphere. As Pete W. pointed out, though, things can get pretty crazy during karaoke time. And yeah, there's a lot of smoke in there. If you can handle all of that, then by all means give it a shot. The beer/cider/drink selection is rivaled by that of only a few select places throughout town (Copper Rocket/Jax/etc.) There doesn't seem to be a lot of space for parking, so you're likely going to have to park out on Corinne Dr. somewhere, especially if you check in late at night ... just FYI. read more

I am giving one star because the woman who runs karaoke went out of her way to be rude to my friends and me. We arrived 2 hours before closing and put in our names to sing. She flat out said "no" to our song choice and then rudely pointed to her sign explaining where to find songs. We should have left then. Four of us signed up to sing and waited. We watched as her friends got to sing over and over again. We watched our names show up on the screen and then disappear. It was finally time for me to sing and she said there was no more time for anyone, but she allowed her friend to get up and sing one last time. This is by far the worst Karaoke place I have ever been to. The KJ said she was in a 'bad mood' when she finally got things started at 9:45. I guess we should have taken that as a bad sign but we submitted our song anyway. We were the first to submit our song, but four songs later when I still hadn't sung we decoded to just leave. I don't think it was a coincidence that all the singers were regulars with whom she was on a first name basis with. I usually am very generous with the tips. My tab is equally big. Dive Bar in Orlando that I visited at the recommendation of a bartender at Tap n Grind who said this was THE PLACE for karaoke. Prices on drinks are good and the bartenders are generally friendly. Karaoke wise, DJ Di was probably the rudest karaoke DJ I have ever interacted with. Don't even think of bringing up two song requests because she will chastise you for trying to keep others from having a turn. Yeah. Ridiculous. It's one of Winter Park's oldest Karaoke DIVE bars and very locally driven. The don't free pour and it's $13 for a patron shot. Their beer selection is okay but expensive. It's really smokey (they need to replace the smoke eaters from 30 years ago). And you can't wear designer tank tops. The bouncer won't let you in. That's a joke considering it being a dive bar and not a club. Some of the bartenders are cool as hell tho. That's what makes it worth 3 three stars. read more

I attempted to join a few friends at your bar last night and was turned away at the door for wearing a tank-top. Apparently a few other friends of mine have experienced the same issue. The thing is, apparently women are welcome to enter your establishment with tank-tops. Even my female friends thought that was pretty sexist -- so if I had big tits, I'd be able to dress how I please? Your unnecessary rule doesn't compliment your atmosphere, and your UFC-shirt-wearing bouncer was snarky and rude about the entire process. Over the years, I've shelled out ridiculous amounts of money to your establishment and I considered it a frequent haunt of mine for years. To be turned away simply because I chose to wear a sleeveless shirt in your scorching-hot bar is equal parts embarrassing and insulting. You are a karaoke bar, a place of self-expression. Having a strict dress code nullifies the very purpose of Big Daddy's. For the sake of avoiding future embarrassment in a place I've enjoyed on countless occasions, I will be taking my business elsewhere until I can dress like I'm out to have fun. read more

Surprisingly, this is one of the few places in Winter Park you can count on to be lively an night of the week. Big Daddy's is always open late, and you'll never find it empty. A great karaoke place, whether you want to participate or just watch. The crowds are always friendly, and I've seen some top notch performances. I walked up, pretty damn drunk and excited to sing. I asked how I can give her my song. She rolled her eyes and pointed to a sign with her website that has every song listed. I thought, "Okay, this woman is strange but true to her brand." I fucking guessed thay she'd be nice when I gave her my song (Michael Mcdonald - I Keep Forgetting, because of course), and made another weird notion when I handed her my ticket. I said, "I'm gonna tear the house down!" Now, I realize this is a silly proclamation, as I know I'm not the best singer, and this lady has probably seen a lot of crappy singers. But, this woman rolled her eyes AGAIN, and said, "hunny, this place has seen so many great singers in the 25 years I've been doing it, I doubt you'll make anybody excited." Okay, lady. You work as a career karaoke host. Why wouldn't you be supportive for everybody who is giving you a (albeit shitty) job? I'm just trying to have fun, have a few laughs, and get out. What happened to this place? I went in yesterday (Sunday Oct 7 2012) and the place was dead during the one o'clock football games. I was confused because other places around it were crowded. I then noticed the one group that was in the building and wondering if there was a bartender. I saw a couple sucking face at the bar and then realized that the reason I wasn't getting served - she was the bartender! Clay Mathews jersey chick making out with some Polumalu looking dude and they wondered why they were empty. Place smelled like urine, vomit, and like the bar could use a nice cleaning. A few fruit flies. Horrible service, then she was rude, then she told me (after serving the beer) that it was a $10 minimum to use a credit card. When I came to Orlando a year and a half ago on vacation, I googled karaoke, And this place was the first to pop up! Well I decided to go, and let me tell you, I loved it!! The manager who I know now to be as Trish, came over to me, with a huge smile, and asked me, what I'd like to drink! She ran me a tab, not knowing me, as it my first time walking in the place! She was so sweet! When I cashed out, my tab was only $29.00! But because she trusted me, not to walk out,I gave herr a $50.! I ended up moving here from New York, and became a regular! (3 times a week)! spending not only $40..to get there, but an additional 60/70 dollars on Drinks!! And that's only because of Trish!!, the place was sold to a guy named Frankie shortly after, and had been going downhill since, but I still went because of that little redhead I now call my friend! Trish was fired several weeks ago, for something she never did! And is now being bad mouthed by the other staff members!! I think it's pretty crappy,that the one girl that brought in 90% of the business,was the one to get fired by a drunken owner,and the girls that are always drunk behind the bar get to continue to stay! I have not been going there for a long time. But, it the best when it comes to friendly people, non discrimination of whoever you may be. There is pool, darts, games and cheaper than most places in town. There is also a jute box that most people use. The singers clearly range from just like to sing all the way to professional. And all have a good time, even if the voice is not all that great. You can watch the news or sports because the TV's are set to many different channels. The beer list is too expansive to list. No food menu but the restaurant next door will deliver and the staff will make the order for you. BUT the best part of Big Daddy's is the extremely personable staff. They go out of their way to be sure you have what you want and you definitely will want what they have. read more

I agree with Michael W. and Lauren E. This place is a dump but seemed like a regular spot for locals but the shady kind. The parking sucked although I got lucky. If you smoke it is no problem here. The service sucked. It was a weekday there was only one waitress handling everyone and I was told that she was also the "bouncer". Are you kidding me. Some guy spilled their drink on my foot "by mistake" because I was not interested and what was that petite waitress going to do? Please! I went for the karaoke but even if you have been buying drinks it doesn't matter the karaoke host will keep you and others waiting over an hour to go up to sing. This can be because if a group of people that came together put themselves on the list they will end up going up more then once even if they used other people's names, They seemed to be really familiar with the karaoke host so this could also be the reason. But it was ridiculous. And even if there was a long list of people why would the host sing????
