Let me start by saying this bar has recently changed owners. I've been going to this bar for around 3 years now, and I can tell you everyone at the start thought the change in owners was going to be great. Well what it turned into was hell. The bar is still the smokiest place in all of Orlando. The supposed "smoke eaters" they have look like they are from 1963. The karaoke has always been above the normal here. There are a lot of regulars that go there, however the new owner seems not to care about his bread and butter of a customer. He has recently instituted some new rules. This is where it starts to get funny. There is now reserved seating in the front of the bar. This place has limited seating as it is, I usually sit at the bar so I really don't care about the tables but for the people who do the three front tables are "RESERVED" for people who spend "a lot of money there" Hysterical VIP in a dive bar. Then the bartender starts telling people they can't sit at the normal tables unless they plan on spending at least $20 that night. Really, now there is a drink minimum? They also recently acquired a liquor license, which again people thought was going to be great however turned into way overpriced drinks in a small plastic cup. Damn if I am going to pay close to $7 a pop at least give me a glass. Getting back to the karaoke part. I have always known this joint to have karaoke every night of the week for those die-hard singers. You see a lot of people bringing in CD's with songs to sing that the DJ's don't have in their book. Pretty much the norm at the majority of places. Well no more people if they DJ doesn't have the song you want to play the new owner has decided no longer to have a player where you can put your own disc in. When questioned about it he stated if they don't like it they can go someplace else. Way to care about your customer base. If he treats his customers like this I can imagine how he treats his employees. Anyways this place is turning into a joke. If it wasn't walking distance from my house I don't think I would ever step into this place again. On a plus side the DJ's are pretty good, especially the weekend crew, and they have trivia night during the week. What I would have given 4 stars to before is now 1 star in my opinion. read more

I read a few mixed reviews about this place and decided to check it out for myself. I was pretty disappointed with my first few experiences here and probably won't be back. There was a different KJ each night I visited, and each KJ had a different song book. The songs I sang one night, were not available the next. Not really a deal breaker, but some consistency would be nice. Each host also had different ways of setting their sound. Some nights I couldn't hear the singer, some nights my eardrums felt like they were being bludgeoned with mallet. Acoustics on stage as a singer and in house as a guest were also different each night. One of the KJ's was just downright rude to me, talking down to me because I didn't know how she ran her rotation and simply assumed she ran it like the other hosts I had visited. She excused herself saying she was in a "bad mood" that night. She was also shamelessly playing favorites with her regulars. That might keep them coming in, but it's not a good way to win new business. I was also not a fan of having to sit there and watch the bar staff sing. The staff is getting paid to be there, and every time they get on stage to sing, they take away a turn from a paying customer. Finally, the total on my tab at the end of the night would have been fine if I was in a high end establishment, but I just can't justify paying those prices at a smokey dive like this. read more

What can you say about the baddest local bar in central Florida? It's just that.. It's a local bar that ANYONE can come into and feel comfortable. The staff is diverse, the beer selection is amazing and the liquor is flowing! I don't really go to bars but this one makes you feel like family no matter what and I respect that. Met this gentleman Dewey and Geo and they made sure I had great food and drinks for me all of my colleagues. I RARELY give 5 stars and I give a full 5 here. Check this place put! Only thing I will say, it does get busy. Plan accordingly! Use some common sense, if it's a Saturday night and it's packed, there is a reason! Come check it out! read more

I'm from out of town. We googled "karaoke bar orlando" and big daddys popped up and me and my sales mgt team drove over for a night of fun. First things first, no liquor- beer and wine only. We managed to have a fun time but the lady that runs the karaoke was extremely rude throughout the nite. She also made many derogatory statements towards "whites". She had way to many rules and didn't look like she liked her job very much. Many times wouldn't let us sing because she said "we were up there too much". I won't be back. read more

Stopped in there again (aka: got dragged there by a friend because there wasn't anywhere else close with karaoke on a Wednesday) bar staff once again on point. They were packed and I never waited more than a few minutes for the bartender's attention. My buddy and I both signed up to sing at the same time, but there were 4 people called up on stage in between our turns. What's even weirder is I was called up first, but my friend is the one who tipped the host. The way the hosts here handle the singer rotation is abysmal. read more

Big Daddy's is disgusting, the place reeks of smoke, the drinks are over priced, and the place is just unfriendly. You feel dirty walking in that place, seriously dirty. Five minutes in there are you are already inundated in smoke, for the price the drinks are small and rather cruddy. You couldn't pay me to go back there. read more
