Fried pickles
Sinibaldo R.

We were looking for a place to have lunch and rest from the heat at Kure Breach when we came across Big Daddy's. The venue The place is huge inside! Sadly, it was empty, cold, and kind of sad. The service The staff was kind and serviceable. Our food was served in ~ 10 minutes. Food and drinks We had fish and chips, a burger, fried oysters, fried pickles, and some drinks. The flavors were okay, but it is definitely overpriced.

The turkey from the turkey Mac and cheese looked like charcoal and the Mac and cheese tasted like box Mac and cheese it made my uncles stomach feel horrible and made all of my family have stomach issues I would not recommend for family and others. this place is NOT suitable for people who love non- seafood items. The burgers were VERY burnt the French fries were very hard and not suitable for anybody with braces. There were bugs flying around the whole restaurant and the bathroom was very disgusting. To top it off, the service was very slow we waited 2 to 3 hours to get our food. We are a family on vacation this was our first restaurant on this trip and this place single handedly almost sent us right back home!

The wait at 10:45 am was only about 10 min which was surprisingly short considering March spring break. Table service was friendly and accommodating. Our selections for Sunday Brunch were the Crab Benedict, and the Ocean View Breakfast. The Crab dish included homemade biscuits covered with 3 eggs, country ham, and lump crab, with a side of grits. Outstanding and more than the wife could finish so I helped her clean her plate ! My traditional breakfast of two eggs, country ham, grits, and toast, with a house made strawberry jam was also delectable. We are certainly planning on coming back soon either for breakfast, brunch, or lunch soon.

I ordered a veggie omelette and the portion was really good. It was full of spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms. My husband had the chicken and waffles and had to take some home with him because the portion was so good. The chicken was crispy on the outside. Unfortunately, it did not have an ocean view, but you are in walking steps to the ocean, so during peak season expect to pay over six dollars an hour for parking.

We arrived around 4:30 and beat the dinner rush, which gave us a beautiful evening outside. From the moment we sat down, it felt less like going to a restaurant and more like coming home after a long day at the beach. Our servers, Abigail and Allie, were both wonderful--friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Service like that is getting harder to find these days, and they deserve a lot of credit. We started with the fried okra, and there were barely any left by the time I thought to take a picture. Crisp, hot, and some of the best we've had. The Black and Red wings were excellent too--full of flavor with just the right amount of kick. The fries were seasoned and cooked just right. The outside seating has a great atmosphere, and even the little details stood out. The place was clean, including the restroom, and seeing their 97.5 sanitation score posted proudly gave us even more confidence. They even had a Venus flytrap outside--only in Carolina Beach can a restaurant have its own bug patrol on duty. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

I'd think your menu prices would cover that. First time in my life I've ordered tap water and had to pay $1.50 each water. The Spot, bad way to handle your costs. These are built in costs that you need to absorb elsewhere. Charging 1.50 costs you much more than you think! Disappointed.

I arrived when they had just opened the doors at 0630 and everyone was so kind. I got the hurricane omelet, home fries, French toast, and a side of bacon. This has been my favorite breakfast I've found in years. They have plenty condiments, free parking, and fair prices. Perhaps some of the best pancakes I've ever had. They had nuts in them and were perfectly spiced. 10/10. Red velvet was good, the cream cheese icing was quite tasty but they weren't anything too special. And the apple pancake was my least favorite; the apple filling on top tasted like it came from a can. Super sweet and didn't taste fresh. But the pancake itself was still good. This place does not take reservations and I was told the line goes out the door in the summer. There was a large line even while we were there in the off season during a storm. So if you want to eat here on a weekend, or the weather is nice, proceed with caution and be prepared to wait (standing outside--there is no seating while you wait).
