I had the Filet and Baked potato. We both had garlic butter to top our steaks They were both perfectly cooked, seasoned, and incredibly tender. So Yummy! One word of advice. We had a wonderful experience at Lake Park. You MUST make a reservation in advance, there is not a lot of seating so you will either be waiting for a long time or not get in. This is on the pricey side of meals if you are looking for casual dining. Expect steak house pricing, these are FANTASTIC steaks! Our friends have been here many times and have tried something different each time and they said so far everything is amazing. I had the 12oz NT strip with a loaded baked potato, and agree with my friends. By far the best steak I've ever had. Another cool thing, the salad that comes with your meal is full customizable. They give you a laminated card and a marker to check off what you would like. Categories like salad greens, veggie toppings, proteins, crunchy toppings. Then if you are getting the salad as an entree, they have an additional section with premium proteins, from chicken to seafood and steak. The only thing I was a slight inconvenience was waiting for the orders to be taken. We mostly knew what we wanted to order before we walked in but it probably was a good 40 mins before the entree was ordered and we did not do apps. I am local and have eaten here a few(special occasions) times prior to this experience. All were good except for this one. The salads were on point as always. Then, the server tells us they only have enough bread for one piece per person. Okay, it happens but really?? Couldn't they make a bakery run prior to opening? The most disappointing of all were the entrees. They didn't come out in a timely manner. The steaks were not cooked to order and several were sent back. When they came back out they were still not correct but rather than send them back again the individuals just ate what they could. One of our friends sent her meal back and changed it to chicken which was also not good. The only high point was our server who was very apologetic and attempted to correct the problems. She was obviously trying to provide good service under bad circumstances. Normally I would not base my return on one bad meal, however in this instance it was overall a very bad experience for all of us (party of 8). Came here for my bestie's Bachelorette party last night. Some highlights: * Steak dinner was cooked well & I enjoyed my macaroni. * Group got side salads and had fun customizing them. * For pasta dishes: shrimp scampi had too much butter and they didn't have two of the options due to one being taken off the menu (needs updating) and another dish sold out. * We did like that they were very accommodating since they let our large party do separate checks. The staff was attentive and even signed a card for my friend to say congratulations. You can tell this place is for the locals. I do give my share of five star reviews. When I do I am saying this was pretty great and you should try it. This, though, was a 5.5 of if ever there was one! We started with the fried onions which I am not a fan of. Not Lake Parks mind you. Just in general but my wife loved them. The salad was wild! So think salad bar that you don't get to visit. You fill a checklist with everything you want. The cool thing is you get someone else to make it for you and they portion it correctly. Awesome concept! The blue cheese on my steak seemed ridiculous at first as it was piled wildly high. Just shoveled a little to the side and dug in. Crisp edges, perfect pink center, and the blue cheese was fantastic! All round a perfect steak (I like toppings; don't come at me!). Rockstar Potato Prep!!! I'll wait while you take a moment to look at my photo of the potato. My wife said it looked like one of those marketing photo potato's and I can't disagree. It was a touch undercooked but everything else about it was high art!! I had read the rave reviews of Lake Park Steakhouse so decided to try and get a table. Lake Park is a smaller restaurant so does not have many tables so the restaurant prefers reservations but will accommodate walk in when there is space. I wasn't sure of my schedule so hadn't made a reservation but I went early and was given a table. I was given plenty of time to look through the menu. The restaurant has various entrees that come with a side and a customized salad. They let you pick your choice of greens and toppings. But then I saw a la carte and decided that would work better for me as I had eaten a late lunch. So I will need to do the salad the next time. I went with a baked potato and a filet mignon. I added blue cheese to the filet but wouldn't get that topping on it again as it took away from the meat flavor. The baked potato was large and filling. I was full but one of the dessert options was a peanut butter cup chocolate cake so I couldn't pass that up. It was amazing! Service was great here and attentive. I had everything I needed and many refills on my iced tea. I will dine at Lake Park Steakhouse again and go with the seafood next time as I wanted to try both. read more

Oh boy, I had high hopes here. This is a local's spot and you'll know by the end of this, why I say that. Came in for dinner without a reservation, and the place was empty. The hostess looked like a deer in headlights, scrambling to find me one of the 6 open tables. The place lacked ambiance, and almost felt as if I were there eating in a group with everyone else. Customers and servers were talking to eat other from halfway across the restaurant! The music volume was low and I could hear everyone else's conversations. Ordered a drink, the server was too busy trying to do other things, that she didn't get it right. Bread came out with my first course, not when I sat down. Soup was pretty good. For the main course, I had a filet and shrimp. The filet was perfectly cooked, and the shrimp were juicy. Very nice quality of ingredients. But here is why I say, it's a local's spot...there was little to no seasoning on EVERYTHING. 3 of the 5 tables were regulars, gabbing with the server... And while I'm no spring chicken, the regular customers are definitely on dietary restrictions, and low sodium ones for sure. I am all about healthy food, and I get not wanting things sent back to the kitchen, because it's too salty for your regulars... but for the goodness sake of a little bit of flavor. Butter, salt, spices, something. I can't remember the last time I picked up a salt shaker at a restaurant and I used the heck out of it. I'm inclined to trust my taste buds and opinion here. This was a $85 meal, and good...but just wasn't anything special. We've been to many steak houses but this one wowed us from beginning to end! From the attentive and friendly service to the delicious food we loved it! The entrees come with a salad where you are given a menu to check off and design your own salad. Our whole family agreed it was our favorite salad, tons of options and all perfectly proportioned. The NY strips were cooked perfectly with a delicious grill char. They had a baked potato as a side that was loaded with fresh toppings. It definitely is! You have to first find parking in Carolina Beach which is never fun, and then walk over. We were greeted promptly when we arrived and immediately seated. We loved the salad situation- you get to build your own salad and choose all of your own ingredients, which was fun and delicious! For our entrees, we had the 16 oz ribeye, the 14 ox Rib and scallops, and the mac n cheese. Everything was very tasty! My family booked two beach houses in Carolina Beach for a combination reunion and celebration of my birthday. I called several restaurants hoping to find one that could seat and would make reservations for 16 adults and a toddler. I was told repeatedly that they could seat that many people but would not make a reservation for that many. And I'm glad they couldn't... Because when I called Lake Park Steakhouse, I was greeting by an incredibly helpful person who said, "We can make that happen". She explained the seating and assured me it would be no problem. And it was a great choice!! We arrived and they were set and ready for us. Every member of the staff was courteous, helpful and went the extra mile to meet our needs. I ordered an extra dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives to start. It was perfect!!!! The food was incredible. Every entree came with a salad, and I especially like the way we ordered them - we were given a dry erase card and we went through and checked every item we wanted in our salad from the bowl up! There was no extra charge for any ingredient or dressing that we wanted. Every salad is JUST way you like it! For my entree, I ordered a rare grilled prime rib with blue cheese topping; it was cooked to perfection and was so tender and delicious. I loved it, in fact every one of us was delighted with our meal. At the end, I was given a "Happy Birthday" card signed by every member of the staff. What an evening! The balsamic glaze was served on the side so it didn't drown the salmon (unless you want that, which you can do once served). The lemon drop martini was the proper balance of ingredients. We spent an early evening for a special family dinner on 7/3 at Lake Park Steakhouse and the service was outstanding - we loved all the small touches and attention to detail. Everyone was gracious while allowing us to enjoy our family time. Steaks were well seasoned and prepared at the correct temperature (many tend to over cook). Custom built salads were a nice touch and the sides were above average. The house made steak fries were very well done with a great crunch and not over seasoned -thanks for not being too salty. I got the filet and shrimp. This comes with a custom salad and a potato or waffle fry side. You can chose another side from the side list instead of this for $2 upcharge. I had Mac & Cheese. The salad was excellent and dressings homemade. Hubby had NY Strip, potato and salad. Both were excellent. The service was perfect. We were greeted with drinks, hot mini loaves and our salad order sheets. Every meal step is timed perfectly like a perfect gastronomical dance. There are 13 tables, so it is intimate but not too close. Hubby and I conversed perfectly and heard the restaurant music as well. We will be back for sure! Couldn't have ask for a better Mother's Day Dinner! Walked in a little early and our reserved table was waiting for us! Jasmine was a great waitress and of course, Noel, the owner is always walking around and making sure everyone's dinner is just right! Tonight we started with a bottle of Penfold's Cabernet! I ordered the Filet which was served Perfectly at Medium Temperature with a loaded Bake Potato! Delicious! Can't forget about the made to order salad! You choose your greens, toppings, dressings, etc. If you don't want a steak, you can always order the salad as an entree and add another protein, grill chicken, shrimp, etc My husband often gets the scallops, but tonight chose the crab cakes, which were great as well! The place was very quaint and small. Only 14 tables. I'm glad we made a reservation. The service was incredibly nice and the server introduced herself and presented us with a card to design our custom salad and also wonderful fresh baked dinner rolls. Our salads were delicious and we placed our orders for dinner. I had scallops and my wife ordered the pasta Primavera special. Both were PERFECT! Love that they customize everyone's salad. They were excellent! I ordered the Parmesan chicken (can't have beef right now) and sadly it was dry due to overcooking. From the exceptionally professional maitre d, Flower, to our server, Jasmine, and other employees whose names escape me, it was a great experience. The chef, Mary even came out and spoke with us. Incredible experience. Service was fast and friendly. They have a check list for your opening salad with what you want on it, and the salad was as big as an entree! My gf got the ribeye and she said it was cooked perfect. She had mashed potato's and the salad. I had a New York strip with a loaded baked potato as well as the salad. This is actually a really good steakhouse. They have good cuts, prepare it the way you ask. So flavorful! The sides are also great and the salads are perfection because you design it yourself.
