Ok. Ok. Ok. My guy and I have been on a mega BBQ kick lately. We were lying in bed looking at Yelp pics and reviews of all Buffalo BBQ spots and this one immediately peaked our curiosity, based on location alone. We first called to pre-order Pastrami and while on the phone we realized, we have to go there immediately for take out. The location was super clutch! We generally don't even bother w sandwiches, so we ordered combo meals. Even tho we accidentally got a sandwich meal, we weren't disappointed. The brisket was so well seasoned. The pulled pork was mild and decadent. The sides....OMG. I was convinced that potato salad was always the worst option but this PS was insane. It had a deep vinegar base and really had a well rounded flavor balance. The Mac & Cheese...outstanding. What I would do is put a little tv outside during the Bills games for everyone waiting to pick up orders or to eat at the tables, you know, create a little vibe. Cool experience and great service!

Getting there just after 1PM on a Monday there was a line inside, to the door to place orders... the wait afterwards was about 10 minutes. I love bologna sandwiches and I also really enjoy a nice beef on Weck, so I was happy they offered a mini beef sandwich, still on kummelweck, which I got along with their bologna sandwich with provolone, onions, and peppers on it. The bologna sandwich was flame grilled and tasted excellent! I added jalapeños to it for a little kick, as well as some mayo and that made the sandwich really tasty! I started with their split pea soup - It was really good! It had big chunks of smokey, flavorful ham in it and the texture was thick and the flavor was great! I also tried a side of their mustard potato salad and it was decent, but I think it had pimentos or pickles in it, which I don't prefer. Last up - That mini beef sandwich - AWESOME! The bun really added the excellent flavor you'd expect from having the meat on that type of roll. The beef was tender and so flavorful! They also have horseradish on the tables, so I added a bunch of it and that really made the flavor pop! Service was excellent and very friendly here. I'd highly recommend stopping in!

I loved their weck..it had the perfect amount of salt on top. The roast beef was packed on well and had nice flavor. I got a side of fries and I found them to be pretty basic which is why I gave 4 stars, just nothing special to the fries I wish they would do something to spice that up a bit. But other than that it was excellent! The vibe inside is also really unique. Pretty open concept and easy to order for take out as well. I didn't try their desserts but they looked delicious and they had a lot of different options! We went on a Saturday evening and I was worried it would be packed but it really wasn't. Parking was plentiful and there wasn't a line to order either. Our food came out in about 5 minutes. I would definitely recommend stopping in to get a beef on weck!

After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.

I ordered the Britney: smoked salmon, onion, cucumber, and lemon scallion dill cream cheese on a rosemary salt bagel. The second I opened the wrapper I was hit with the smell of fresh rosemary, which immediately sold me. Flavor-wise, this sandwich was lovely. The smoked salmon tasted fresh and paired perfectly with the lemon scallion dill cream cheese. The cucumbers added the right amount of freshness and crunch, and the bagel itself had beautiful flavor. My only issue was the texture of the bagel. It was very hard, and toasting it unfortunately made it even tougher. Every bite turned into a bit of a balancing act because the sandwich kept falling apart. Still, the flavors were strong enough to make up for it. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I'm excited to go back again. Definitely won't wait years next time. 7.9/10
