What can I say about Fat Bob's that hasn't been said already? This Allentown mainstay is still thriving. Fast and friendly service combined with outstanding barbecue and a lively and hip vibe in a friendly atmosphere is a recipe for success. Reasonably priced by today's standards too. 4 house made barbecue sauces to choose from at your table too. Choose from Original, Carolina, Kansas City or Memphis. All are exceptional. My chopped brisket sandwich was tender and flavorful and I tried their onion rings for the first time and they were extraordinary! Don't sleep on the onion rings and their superb dipping sauce. I'll be back soon and often!

I had to go downtown and run a few errands. Whenever I'm downtown Fat Bob's Smokehouse is a must. I ordered take-out. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, collard greens and a side of their famous mac n cheese. Pricing was fair and the food was delicious. Their mac n cheese is the best I have ever tasted.

Great little restaurant in a residential area just off of downtown. Had their beef brisket. Moist, tasty, full of flavor meat. The portion was ideal. Place old and rustic. Good vibes all along. Was served by a lady name Jane. Ms Jane was awesome. She was approachable, kind and had great smile.

A portion of our Fat Bob's pickup Thanksgiving meal package, SO delicious!! (I added the roll and peas)

This review is about our Fat Bob's pickup Thanksgiving dinner, the one we opted for is called "The Dinner." It includes sliced smoked turkey breast, and we chose cornbread stuffing, Cajun corn and mashed potatoes for our sides, plus it comes with a choice of apple or pumpkin pie. It also includes gravy and cranberry sauce...all for $130 (for Thanksgiving 2025), including tax. They say it serves up to four people, but it's a generous amount. Everything was absolutely delicious and seasoned perfectly. You pick it up cold the day before Thanksgiving and it includes reheating instructions. This is the second year in a row that we've opted to buy Thanksgiving dinner because there's only two of us (not including our devil baby dog) and it can get overwhelming to make everything myself. We were so impressed by our 2024 order that it was easy to opt for them again. What cinched the deal for me is that they were able to keep the base price the same as last year, that's practically unheard of these days. We plan on making it a yearly tradition. Thank you, Fat Bob's!!

I have been wanting to eat at Fat Bob's for a while now ... but with its distance from my house, it took me a while to get there; but I finally made it! The parking situation isn't the best at the front entrance so we parked on the street behind it and went in through the back door. There, we found outdoor seating with heating that was nice. But we did not eat outside. We went inside, past the bar you can sit at, and had the hostess seat us at a table. It was a Sunday, and the Sunday special was fried chicken. I wish I had went with my gut and ordered this ... but I wanted something different to put the BBQ sauce on ... so I ordered the nachos with pulled pork on it. My friend ordered the chicken tenders with baked beans. My nachos were good and plentiful! I couldn't even finish them. What surprised me, is that I tried all 4 table-side BBQ sauces and didn't care for any of them. This has never happened to me and is the reason I wish I had ordered the fried chicken. That being said, I want to make it clear: nothing was "wrong" with the sauces. This wasn't a quality issue at all. Taste is subjective and it just wasn't for me so don't be discouraged and try for yourself! They have original, Memphis, Kansas City, and Carolina. My friends chicken tenders were awesome! HUGE in size and you could tell they were fresh and hand breaded. Juicy too. I tried half of one and I agreed they were great! Our waitress was very kind. There is a cool BBQ chef pig to take a picture with if you want, and I would definitely come again on a Sunday to try the fried chicken, and FYI, Fridays special is Bob's fish fry (beer battered haddock).

Food was great. Sadly, they ran out of Fried Chicken which is served on Sundays only and there wasn't any brisket. That threw my plans out the window, so instead I got the bbq pork nachos, the bbq bacon burger, and a bowl of Memphis Mac n cheese, and Texas twinkies! Every one of my items was delicious. Texas twinkies were amazing. The bbq bacon burger was cooked to perfection and I loved it. The Memphis Mac was a large portion that is a meal on its own. The pork, coleslaw, Mac n cheese blended beautifully together with the bbq sauce. A waiter was great. He was very attentive and made sure our glasses never ran out l. We never had to ask for a refill. Place was busy. I love seeing restaurants busy because that means food is coming out hot and fresh and it's a good place to be! Tables were a bit tight, not leaving very much room, but we were all comfortable still. Parking can be difficult as there isn't a parking lot but with it being Sunday I was able to find a spot quickly!

Smoked wings were delicious and the variety of bbq sauce was great. I've been looking for a bbq/wing place in Buffalo and I'll go out of my way to go back next time I'm in Buffalo.

    Catfish fingers
    Ethan W.

The food was good BBQ food. The catfish fingers are very good, the blackened salmon special was okay, I personally think that blackened catfish is a better option. Service was fine, not fantastic but not bad either. The location is hole in the wall vibe which is cool but the lighting can be pretty poor depending on where you sit. Overall a good experience, would recommend.

Ribs , hushpuppies and Mac n cheese as sides.

Food is ALWAYS good and somis their service. Parking is difficult with very limited street parking. It is very small inside with tables close together; outside has tables open in warmer weather. It can get very loud inside too, but worth the trip for the excellent barbeque. The ribs fall off the bone and it's great to have a choice of sides.

We had a reservation for a weeknight and the restaurant was not quite half full. We were sat at an awkward table by the bar area. It seemed like such a peculiar table seeing that the dining room had lots of available seating. They moved us at my request. Our server was very nice. Food was good too. They were out of one of the sides we all ordered...again no big deal but we were not told until our food actually arrived. It was a totally fine dinner but I'm in no hurry to go back.

    Brisket Sandwich and fries

If I had to pick one BBQ item that I love more than any other, it would be brisket. Add in a fresh Costanza roll and some fries and I'll be set. That's exactly what I had here at Fat Bob's and let me tell you: It's delicious. I went in on a slow afternoon right after they opened for the day so there weren't many other people there. Took a seat at the bar and decided it was time for a nice, filling lunch. I was going back and forth between this and the pulled pork but decided on the brisket, and I am glad I did. The brisket was the perfect amount of tender. With the addition of some of their BBQ sauce, it created such a good complimentary flavor with everything on the plate. I think I basically inhaled the sandwich with how good it was but still tried to take some time to really savor it. The bar and seating areas were all very clean and picked up. The staff was phenomenal and really took care of the people in there. I used to go here a lot for their mac and cheese but now, I have to go try to eat the menu again I think. We will definitely be back soon!

There were only a few other guests during our stay and things began to pickup as we were leaving. In the past, later at night, we've walked by and the place is quite packed. If you like quiet intimacy and a deal on drinks and food happy hour is your golden time here. I almost hate to share this secret tbh. Don't go. Leave this for me haha. The drinks here are all delicious and lovingly made. Really superb cocktails that taste good. The food is pretty good. It is clearly prepared well and presented artfully. I do think that calling a burger, "A quest for heaven" and not having it be super memorable and mind blowingly flavorful is a miss. It's a good burger and I'd eat it again but it's not a craveable item and I hoped with such a small menu it would be amazing. The charcuterie is super generously portioned and the nduja add on is a huge portion of nduja. Get the charcuterie. The crab toast was good and I'd get it again. We want to try baked brie next time. We also tried the pistachio mousse dessert and it was very pretty but lacked a lot of pistachio flavor. A chocolate cup full of unflavored but rich whipped cream and a minuscule amount of pistachio flavored something that was holding the cup to the plate. We were mostly just confused by the name of the dish versus the experience. It was good just not pistachio mousse. We actually wondered if someone accidentally prepared it wrong. We were here for an anniversary and were given free champagne before our meal and offered more at the end which we declined because of all the other lovely drinks we'd had. The service was great, the staff were polite and informed about the menu and drinks and the bartenders made wonderful things. Will be trying Saint Neri again soon.

I feel like it has fine dining aspirations (and could totally nail it!) but just needs some small details to really reach it. Our food was great - perfectly cooked strip steak, chicken pot pie with the best buttery crust that I devoured and didn't leave feeling overly full. Crème brûlée that my husband said was one of the most flavorful custards he's ever had. Areas of improvement: the wall next to our table was all gouged up which, any other place I don't care (and it certainly didn't take away from the meal) but for a special occasion may be more noticeable. Olive tapenade was good but the baguette didn't seem fresh which is a shame being so close to so many great bakeries and the co-op. No small plates served with appetizer, no spoon with dessert, no steak knife with steak, bill wasn't accurate to order (I ordered a $37 item when I was told the pot pie was gone but they had another one left so I got what I wanted but CPP was $17 and the bill still had the more expensive item) NOW: these are such minor, minor things and I would hardly say took away from the meal meaningfully but for a Saturday night, just easy fixes to really elevate the experience. Bill was fixed quickly and all missing utensils appeared quickly, We'll be back for sure!

Food-wise, they've been super consistent every time I've gone. I tried frog legs for the first time here and was honestly surprised by how much I loved them, definitely better than expected. The escargot and oysters were also delicious, and the drinks have been just as solid across the board. The beef bourguignon wasn't my thing but I think that was a preference thing. I don't particularly love braised shortrib and it was a shared dish with my friend. I'm giving 5 stars because my most recent visit really stood out, the service that afternoon was amazing, and our waiter even sang happy birthday to my friend (I wish I remembered his name because he deserves the shoutout). It made the whole experience feel so special, and I'll be including a video because it was such a great moment. That said, if I'm being completely honest, I'd rate it more like a 4.5 overall.
