I tried to do some of my own bike repair and caused more problems. I called Big Dave's, and Taylor answered the phone and was SUPER patient and helpful. When I came in, Matt helped solve my problems on-the-spot. Extremely friendly and experienced. Matt fixed my issues immediately... ones that I would have spent an hour or two trying to solve. HIGHLY recommend this shop for all your bike needs!

I recently bought an e-bike from Big Dave's Bike Shop and had such a great experience that I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. If you're looking for excellent customer service, this is the place to go. I called to see if they had a Trek Townie step through in stock. Matt let me know they had just sold two but thought there might be one in the back. He asked if I could come in, so I drove right over. The owner checked and found one still in the box. It was a different color than I thought I wanted, aloe vera with a brown seat and brown tires, but when he showed me a picture, I loved it immediately and bought it on the spot. They built it for me, and when I came back to pick it up, it was even cuter in person. I couldn't have been happier with it. I hadn't ridden a bike in over 20 years, and the team went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable and confident from the time I bought it to when I rode it home. They patiently walked me through how everything worked and even gave me a little training before I left. They offer maintenance every 150 miles, which is a great perk. But what really stood out to me was how genuinely friendly and supportive everyone was. I had the biggest grin on my face riding home. It felt like being a kid again. I'm happy to report I made it home without the need of bubble wrap around me and did not fall over, I did ride out of the parking lot with the kick stand down but corrected that right away Thank you for making this such a positive and fun experience, even with being insecure about getting back on a bike.

What a great shop! I brought Taylor a basket of parts and a Kona frame to build a complete bike and they knocked it out of the park. Of course none of the stuff fit that I gave them so they ordered what they could and I ordered a couple things they couldn't find. They were super patient and fairly friendly to my budget. Take your bike here and you won't regret it.

It had been a while since my bike had had any attention. It needed new tires and brakes among other things. And it had been in a very minor accident. But I didn't want to spend too much money on a 20 year-old bike. Matt took a look at it. He was able to suggest needed repairs and a tune-up, but keep the cost down to something I could afford. I picked the bike up today and it looks brand-new. And it rides like a dream. Thank you, Matt, and Big Dave Bikes.

During the Covid 19 outbreak everyone had been looking for bikes so most shops were running low on their stock. I was looking for a specific BMX bike that no shop had in stock at the time so it became really frustrating. Well I figured I would check out Big Dave's which I am so glad I did. They have the place outside the entrance safed off which no one is allowed inside. When I got their at 11:30 they told me they only service bikes between 11:30-12 which was smart because a lot of people needed service during this time. Worth the wait, I figured only a half hour so I was looking inside from the outside and what do you know. They had 1 bmx bike that I had been looking for everywhere, it was meant to be. The guys here were really helpful and attentive so I'm glad I came here. I took it for a quick ride once they brought the bike out to me to check out. Once purchased they told me I get free basic maintenance on it so bring it in every month to make adjustments. I knew this was my go to place after that. So my parents live in Vacaville and I mentioned to them where I bought my bike. They ended up bringing both their bikes to Big Daves for service, it took about 2.5 weeks to get back because they are so busy but my parents were so happy with how their bikes came out. They hadn't rode them in about 12 years and were quick to go for a ride right when we picked them up. So thamk you Big Dave and team for all your help.

Hello, I need help to replace my bike tires , what would be the cost for this service ? Thank you !

Hi, We charge $10 labor per wheel off the bike. $20 is the labor per wheel on the bike. For that we would lube your chain and give a check over(make sure all bolts are tight to spec). Parts are extra. Tubes start at $7.99, Tires start at $19.99…

Do you do service and repairs on low end ebikes? Specifically the Radrunner, Himiway cruiser, and the lectric XP 2.0?

No we do not but we can refer you to "The Electric Bike Company" based in San Francisco. I believe they have mobile service or at least referrals to someone more local to you.…

Really love the store layout, not sterile, has personality to it, the variety of sports items, apparel, shoes, and was even pleasant enough with the air-conditioning and fans on. Can't give it 5 Stars, though. Would love to, but this place has more items missing price tags than Grocery Outlet! Mentioned it to a couple of the employees, one replied there are "some items" where that is true ( more than some ), and another assured me that the items I was referring to had price tags on them. Yeah, No! At least in the energy bars / nutrition / protein powders / hydration packs, etc. department. Yes, there are some stickers designating price / bar and price / box, which IS helpful, then...a row or two or three of suddenly no price tags. And look at it this way, if you're going to put in the effort to label containers with expiration dates like "5/27" ( which seems like the store did in the spirit of good customer service ), then you CAN actually make the effort to clarify to the customer what item is what price. ( Why does this seem like basic Common Sense here, and if managers are not on top of this problem, then that is on them. I spent too much time walking the aisles, trying to find pricing, asking for help to scan items, discovering more things without pricing. Fix that problem ASAP. Or install a scanner in parts of the store for customers to utilize on their own. ) Overall, check out the store. Here's another reason why: I observed (2) separate employees, one younger 20's male in the running shoe department, one latter 20's female in the ski boot department, personally attending to customers, giving their input on products, doing some old-school sales and persuasion. VERY GOOD to see that. Both had product knowledge, were hands-on, was refreshing to see. Thumbs up!

Shoutout to Eugene for convincing me to spend my $15k somewhere else. I recently had a bike destroyed in a bike-car accident, so I went to RA planning to buy a helmet and potentially a new bike. When Eugene asked what brought me in, I told him I needed a helmet and was looking at bikes since mine had been destroyed. He laughed and asked if I was planning to just walk around wearing a helmet. After I explained the accident, he apologized. I mentioned I liked the Dogma X and said my budget was around $12-13k (I was realistically open to $15k). His response was: "That's out of your price range. Let's look at something cheaper." When I repeated that I liked the bike, he ignored it and moved on. Then he asked my bike size. I had just been professionally fitted at Innersport and was recommended a 49 frame. When I told him that, he laughed and said, "I'm sorry, but you're not a 49." When I told him I had just been fitted, he responded, "I can't imagine anyone recommending you a 49. I'm not entertaining that you're a 49." I had to pull up my fitting measurements before he reluctantly admitted I could "pass as a 49." The whole interaction was belittling and embarrassing. I've heard people describe the shop as having a "bro" culture that can feel unwelcoming, and that's exactly how this experience felt. In the end, I left without buying anything and instead went to Capdata in Concord, where I ordered a Factor Ostro VAM with SRAM Red, a helmet, and other gear. RA carries beautiful bikes, but if you're looking for respectful service, my experience suggests you may want to shop elsewhere.
