Nanu Burmese Fusion - Thai Tea

If you're unfamiliar with Burmese food but love Thai food and have a curious palate, you're the…read moreperfect candidate to try Nanu Burmese Fusion. The dishes are rich, occasionally greasy, but oh boy--are they packed with flavor! Curry, coconut milk, and spices play starring roles in most of the dishes. The fish soup? Absolutely delicious. It can be a gamble to try fish-based soup, but I trust how most Asians prepare it, so I went for it. No regrets! Here's what we enjoyed: Nanu Pork Dumpling: A sweet, scrumptious twist on a cooked sushi roll Mohinga: Fish-based soup with rice noodles, egg, cilantro, scallions, and fried split chickpeas (so delish!). Some awesome crispy appetizer (see pic) paired with hard-boiled eggs came as a side dish. The couple who own and run this spot are incredibly gracious, patiently walking us through what to expect from each dish. The wife is the head chef, and her passion shows in every bite. I believe they also do food truck events--I noticed their colorful van parked outside. This place is a must-try. Familiar yet different and oh-so-flavorful.

Place just opened when we went so we were quickly sat down as we were the only customer. The seating is limited as there are only 3 tables available. We ordered Burmese Milk tea, Fried chicken (Sweet), Nanu chicken dumplings, stir fried noodles, and Basil Chicken with rice. Fried chicken wings were crispy, sweet and savory. Nanu dumplings were topped with scallions , fried onions and spicy mayo and were delicious. Basil chicken was flavorful with hint of spice from basil. Stir fried was also topped with fried onions and was very flavorful as well. All the food did come with plastic containers so it's easy to take home if you have leftovers. First time trying Burmese milk tea and was good but I think I prefer Thai milk tea better. Overall the place was very good. Food was great, service was good and price was fair. Only downside was that the place is small with limited seating and the place was hot because it's summer and there is no AC. They have fan and we sat in front of it but was not good enough. I would order take out next time. Other than that it's a solid place.

Besides that being…read moreawesome - the staff were totally chill and you can tell really enjoy what they do and who they serve which I think makes their products stand out! Then WAIT!!! They opened a local shop and ever since they have, I actually prefer their shop than the local chain because they are consistent, creative with their menu, super friendly - but not the fake friendly, actually sincere and genuine with every contact they make. I recently tried their Lavender Tea- OMG! Highly recommend their dirty chai and their Vietnamese coffee and it is delicious and never "burnt" like I've had with some local chains. Definitely recommend going! They still do food trucks and you can order ahead online! PS the sandwiches are way under advertised and are amazing!

I love that they offer dairy and non dairy options. For non-dairy, I often see almond, oat and soy. Their whipped cream is dairy so make sure to ask for none if you are non-dairy. My favorite beverages are the Lucky Charm Latte, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte and Vanilla Taro Latte. The Lucky Charm hasn't been as popular so it's off the special boards right now. It was my summer go-to at the flea. Something about marshmallows made it addicting, I swear. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch is a cinnamon bun latte with added cereal in the base and on top. I wouldn't say it taste exactly like the milk from the bowl but it's pretty close. The Vanilla Taro Latte is exactly as it sounds. Their taro is perfectly sweetened and very enjoyable! Due to COVID, they currently only sell one size: large. I normally get the small but I don't mind the large. I always gulp it down in less than 10 minutes haha. I haven't tried their other drinks or snacks yet. I heard the lemonades are great!

Its located on a plaza with parking lot available. The outside is decorated with purple graffiti style art.Inside is small and only has few seatings and a counter where you place your order. Looks like most people were ordering take outs. We went in and placed an order. I got the penny nuggs which came with their chicken nuggets topped with jalapeno ranch sauce, scallions, bacon bits, cheese, cilantro, and street corn. The flavor was good but chicken nuggets were dry and toppings and sauces were overwhelming. It seemed to be similar concept as loaded fries but chicken nuggets instead. Service was good and wait was not too bad about 15min or so. Overall it's an ok place. I think the idea is interesting but it was sad that their chicken nuggets were dry. I know it's gluten free and they use white meat but if they are selling chicken nuggets as their main menu i would expect them to be good on its own. I feel that topping and sauce was overwhelming and chicken nuggets themselves did not shine.

Orders some spicy nuggz and was grateful that I was advised that the jalapeno topping was not available due to running out. Just pleasant customer service. Wait time was good! My meal itself wasn't outstanding and meat was on the dry end. Meat was white and plenty crispy so the texture was present, but it wasn't my favorite or most unique meal ever. It's an ok spot but it's takes a big flavor punch for me to come back.
