Stopped in here after hiking to hopefully get some local food... The pizza crust seemed like it was made with bisquick and was just not good. Reminded me of the single serving microwave pizzas you eat when you are a kid. We did not have phone service and asked for the Wi-Fi password so we could plan our driving route but we're told we couldn't use the Wi-Fi as it was for staff only. I understand that but it would have been nice to be more helpful about it. If this is literally your only food option then it's technically edible but I would rather get snacks from the gas station across the street

Toasted WVU logo on bun. Looked cool, but maybe a bit overdone as it gave the burger the distinct taste of burnt toast.

Stopped for a late lunch on a summer weekday afternoon. Restaurant was dead, but that's not entirely unexpected. My wife and I split an order of (fried) pub pickles, and then she got the baked mac and cheese and I got a stuffed burger. Pickles were lightly breaded and VERY salty. Her Mac and cheese (with candied bacon on top) was pretty good, but was pretty bland as far as the cheese goes; and they didn't bring out the garlic bread that it was supposed to come with. The burger bun had a cool toasted WVU logo on it, which added some uniqueness to its appearance, but also made it taste like burnt toast. The burger itself was dry, and would be a bit better if dressed with lettuce/tomato and maybe some sort of sauce or ketchup and mustard. All in all, it wasn't terrible, but it's far from great. If you don't have little kids, or a big group, there are far better places 15-20 minutes away in Davis and Thomas.

This place holds a special place in my heart because my late mother n law and I enjoyed burgers here together 3 months before she passed. This was almost 7 years ago. Every year on vacation I try to revisit this special place. I've only had the burgers and that's fine by me because they are delicious! This year my entire family enjoyed a meal here. My little ones loved the arcade and I appreciated having something for them to do while we waited for the food.

Bun stamped with WV emblem. Cute, but not worth $12.50.

Stopped randomly for lunch on the way from Blackwater Falls to Seneca Rocks. Spent $40 for 3 people. Got a burger/fries, steak/cheese sub with fries, buffalo chicken tenders and 3 drinks. Not horrible, but not great either. Noise from the arcade was overwhelmingly loud. Sit outside if weather permits. My recommendation is to eat a snack from your road trip bag and keep going.

If you're a thrill seeker with a thirst for blood, look no further. This quaint murder shack is packed with adventures for you and your palate. It has everything: chairs, tables, trash cans, MTV's Dan Cortez, fish food, mighty morphin waiters, and a homie atmosphere ;-]

Friendly service and great value! Food was delicious. We came at off peak hours so it was not crowded, and we were very hungry from an afternoon of snowboarding. Nothing fancy about the food so as long as you are expecting comfort food you'll be satisfied!

My wife and I had eaten one about seven years prior and it was delicious! I ordered the supreme pizza. I ended up getting sick from it about 3am in the morning. I suspected the mushrooms had gone bad from the look of them on the pizza. The following night I tried something totally different, the most expensive steak on the menu, the ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. It was $46. I ordered it medium rare. The steak was tough and way over seasoned. (Of poor quality) The mashed potatoes were powered potatoes with garlic salt/powder, and the vegetable medley was cooked down to mush. I ate one bite of each, dropped $60 on the table and left. I went to the front desk and asked when the resort manager would be in, which they said would be in the morning. I explained how poor quality the steak dinner was and ended up going to Mama Mias Italian Restaurant down the road. I got a call while at the restaurant from one of the resort front desk personnel telling me they retrieved my $60 and apologizing for my experience. When I came back to the resort I sought out the waitress who served me and gave her $20 as a tip. I told her the food quality was not her fault. The food at Canaan Valley Resort is of poor quality and poor preparation. They might be able to fool some West Virginians, but the international guests know better. It's certainly subpar. To have such a beautiful resort with picturesque scenery, you'd expect the cuisine to be high end. Not here.

We arrived around 5:30 on a busy Thursday night. It's not a big place, and there were already 2 tables of 6+ people & several tables of 2-4. We actually got the last available table. It's worth the wait, but there was a long wait. I think there was only one person in the kitchen and they really had a hard time getting all the orders out for the two large group tables. However, our server was friendly and efficient, considering it was just her and one other server, waiting on everyone and doing the bartending. She replenished water often and got me a new beer whenever I needed one. She got our appetizer of onion petals out quickly, but then it was over an hour wait for our other food. We were a little disappointed that they were out of the pork rinds and they were also out of the elk burger tonight which were of the things we were looking forward to trying. The onion petals were very good. They did have elk sliders so my husband ordered those. We enjoyed them, more flavorful & not gamey like venison. I ordered a patty melt since I had not had one of those in ages. By the time our food arrived the bar was also full, but by now it was going on 7pm. So, we did enjoy our visit & liked all the food & we'd eat there again. Others would have been obviously bothered by the long wait for the food, but we were on vacation and we were not in a hurry. Despite being super busy our server was kind & didn't seem stressed out.

Great wings. Many different sauces. Everything we tried was delicious. Try Thursday wing night.read more

So I was pleased to see they started opening at 7am this year. So my golf buddies and I went down for the breakfast buffet. It was disappointing! The biscuits were the hard and crumbly no bake biscuits you get at Costco by the 24 count. We'd buy them to take to the woods at hunt camp. The bottom of the barrel. (Even half the fast food restaurants make fresh biscuits in the morning) The food on the buffet was cold. The bacon was delicious! The sausage, McDonald's quality. The pancakes, all symmetrical, hard and frozen. The eggs, hard and overcooked. For an international resort destination, this food is subpar. Where's the made to order eggs and omlettes? The next morning there was a very very loud argument happening in the kitchen with multiple profanities thrown. There was an Amish group in the hallway and the women were embarrassed by what these two women in the kitchen were yelling. We chose to not eat breakfast after that unacceptable outburst of staff. Canaan Valley, you can do better. Whomever the head chef is should be fired for his selection of food ingredients and execution of the menu. It's unacceptable!
