Finally stopped by here with my family to try this place after seeing it all over social media. When you walk inside, you are completely immersed in the construction zone aesthetic. You feel like you walked into a construction zone. If you have kids and are visiting from out of town to hit the theme parks, this is definitely a good spot to grab a bite to eat. We had a brand-new waiter who was nervous because it was his first day after training, but he did a fantastic job. We ordered the potato skins, which were quite tasty. My sister and mom ordered the French Onion soup to split, which they said was really good. It comes in a thermos, and according to them, it was the best thing they ate here. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was okay. I wish it had come with some lettuce or something to add some freshness. I also got some fries, which were fine. My brother-in-law got the 12-oz New York strip with mashed potatoes, which he said was pretty good. My sister got a hamburger that she said was tasty. My mom ordered the steak and ale pie, which she said was okay, but she wasn't a fan of the flavors used in the stew. They apparently were pretty strong, and she believes it may have been the Guinness. I believe we'd come back, but most of us agreed we'd try something different on the menu next time. read more

Cool atmosphere for the kids! It was good for groups and easy to make reservations for a group of 9. We were expecting heavy machinery and equipment, but it was more a construction decorations atmosphere. Like an Applebees for construction. I got the burger and it was very good. The fries were good too. I tried the seasonal veggies and they were cooked to perfection. Our waitress was attentive, but when it came to pay the bill she left us with the little machine. Our order was wrong the first time and the second time it didn't work, so we had to work hard to find her and flag her down. She was a ghost. Had a horrible time July 11-2026. Was out with family for nephew 2 birthday. The waiter was extremely rude, didn't bring any type of waters for the tables, sarcastic attitude/ tone with us, no napkins, or any type of courtesy for the tables. When we got our margaritas they were extremely bitter and salty. Like the bartender just poured salt into the drinks on purpose. Then the food came out late and ended up having hair in two of the meals. When we brought it up to the waiter she basically accused us for the hairs even though the hair type didn't match our hair styles. Also she never gave us her name until it was time for the check. So it was a horrible time and still try to make us pay for the hair in the food plates. The management was terrible and customer service was bottom tier. This restaurant is such a cute concept! Definitely 5 stars for service and making guests feel welcome. I think with central Florida comes some of the BEST hospitality in the country... truly. My favorite aesthetic was the portapotty that led to the bathrooms. Overall, the food was not like wow, but decent and the prices were also on par with quality. I actually appreciated the prices. I had the Carb-less burger. Meat tasted of quality, thought the condiments should probably go on top but were placed at the bottom near the plate. Also, they have cool concepts and decor, but I think to designate an actual hands on area would be well worth the space of two tables, like foam building blocks. Our waitress was British & so much fun! She was a hoot. We named her "Princess Pumpkin Spice" we just shortened it to "Princess" she loved it. We had so much fun with the British Princess at the Construction Zone. We would go back just to see her OuiOui. We ordered the Double cheeseburger & fries & I ordered the salmon burger & fries. I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. On the one hand, it's a brilliant concept and it has been very professionally done. On the other hand, about half of the food was not very good. The themed interior decor is fantastic and will delight families, especially with kids who are fascinated by construction projects or equipment. The menu is one of the best conceived I've seen. It's themed, attractive, and offers pretty much any kind of dish family or sports bar enthusiast could be looking for. We started with the baked potato skins. The problem here is that they aren't really baked potato skins. They're essentially half potatoes with some sort of a cream cheese filling underneath the top more conventional presumably cheddar cheese and I guess bacon bits in there somewhere. They just weren't potato skins. For my main course, I had the very reasonably priced classic Cobb salad. It had all the correct ingredients for a Cobb salad, but there was nothing classic about it. As it was just a pile of lettuce with stuff on it. A classic Cobb salad would be served in the traditional rows of ingredients where you can dip and choose amongst them as you wish. But it was fine. My wife had the chicken tenders, which were served with fries. The tenders were quite good, actually the best thing that we had. They had a delicate and very crisp fine-grained breading on the outside. The fries on the other hand were some of the worst fries I've ever been served. They were a huge mound served underneath the chicken. They were only about half cooked and it didn't seem like the oil had been hot enough. They were heavy, limp, and large, although voluminous. I don't want to discourage you from trying this restaurant because I think they've put a lot into it, and it has true potential. If the food lives up to the descriptions on the menu and the pictures on the menu, it could be really good. I loved this place. The kids like so much, at the entrance they got an worker hat and an paper to do the clock in. The Ambience it's really nice, all themed construction, even the bathroom. They do have tap beer, the service was good. They had vest for the kids to play and they could keep the hat when we left. We just got burguers, was good by the way. My wife use to have a job in the road work/construction industry, so I thought this would be fun for her and the kids!!! Let's face it, to be honest. This place is fun for any age if you like construction/road work type things. When you walk in you're greeted with a box opened on 2 sides. What you might not notice when you walk in is that you are in an elevator on a skyscraper. So cool!!! We didn't really notice until we were leaving, but whether at the start or end of your Journey . Take my word for it stand there and watch the video screen it is worth it to check it out. After you get past the elevator your at the hostess desk where they have construction hats, but they are only for 10 and under. What a waste. If I was them I would have a sign that's says: 10 & under/65 & over free!!! Everyone in between 1$. Child size only available. This would be a great up charge option and I know my whole family would have gotten one. Just to feel more inclusive to the environment. They are a kids size so that might be a bit of a challenge for some Adults, but hey if they are willing to pay the $, it's all good!!! All they have to do is add it to the bill!!! The quesadillas was the best value and was honestly a very tasty meal with a side. Loaded potato was what my son chose for a 2$ up charge. The potato was good, but the loaded part was lacking and didn't add much my son stated. The service was great and they all wear hi vis vests to add to the aesthetics. Such a fun family spot! We had an awesome time at The Construction Zone Restaurant! The whole theme was such a hit with our kids -- they absolutely loved the construction hats and vests, and the details made it feel like we were dining right on a building site (in the best way!). I'm going to be very real with this review. This restaurant is a great concept - especially for families. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon it was after lunch and the restaurant wasn't busy. No one was working at the bar but you could still order drinks from your server. All of the "themed tables" were taken so we were just sat at a regular table. Yes my toddler boy was fascinated by the excavator facade in the restaurant and he got a construction hat (to keep) and vest to wear but the restaurant is missing a HUGE opportunity with not having a separate play area for kids with toy construction vehicles or mini vehicles to ride around on. The restaurants theme doesn't go past the inside design of the layout and the port a potty door that leads to the bathrooms. Food was better than expected. Menu is huge! And they can definitely play with the presentation of food. The wings came out on a shovel but that was about it. The kids meal should've come out in a dump truck or something! Would we go back? Great theme and decorations. There's a lot of ideas going on here, but some just don't work on a construction site together! How cute is the soups served in a thermos? Just not sure the construction crew would be eating French Onion Soup! And even though the onion soup had a nice flavor, it could have been hotter and the cheese melted, however, because they are in a thermos and can't go in an oven! The biggest problem through would have to fall to service. Everyone was very nice and attentive, but they don't seem to be bringing in big crowds yet...so they cut the staff! The hostess was not available when we walked in then asked if we had reservations, when we said no she said she'd have to go "check availability" there were four seated tables in the entire restaurant and an empty parking lot outside.... The manager spilled fruit on my two year old (thank god it wasn't the less then ideal Mac n cheese she wanted then wouldn't eat because of how gross it was) my wife's salad with house ranch tasted like mayo dressing? We got here right as they opened for "brunch" that they advertise on their website. We quickly found out that brunch is just their regular menu. The waitress informed us that they did brunch for about a month and no one ever came in so they no longer serve it. The ambiance in the restaurant was pretty good. It read construction but lacked more things for the children like a coloring page or some interactive places for them to touch. The food left much to be desired. Out of 3 orders of fries none of them were edible. They were all very under cooked and incredibly greasy. We visited with our kids (ages 5 and 2 months), and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. They really stayed true to the theme--my son was given a construction hat as soon as he walked in, and it absolutely made his day. The whole experience felt 100% worth it, and the food was just as good as the atmosphere. We ordered the fish and chips and the chicken sandwich--both were delicious. So we absolutely love the theme and that was the reason that we came. I will say the food left us with more to be desired. I ordered the steak with the pastry on top and I felt like it tasted like a can of Campbell's soup. Also for $17 I really didn't give me a whole lot. It was very slim. Did not fill me up. I got fresh cut fries which I think would've been fantastic if they were hot. We also ordered their kids sliders, which I did not love either. I felt like they were overcooked and extremely hard even for a kids meal. We did absolutely love the French hung in soup. We thought the presentation in the soup itself was fantastic. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress was English and just really top-notch. We thought the decorations were also amazing and this was our first time at the restaurant. They treat kids right, she had to punch in, put on a hard hat & safety vest, then we were seated. This was a Wednesday night and they were not busy!! We sat under the arm of an excavator! A must stop!! The decor, service and foood were terrific! I had a chicken pot pie and wow!! Homemade and absolutely delicious- so much flavor, and the puff pastry was so good! Went out tonight with 7 for a good meal at a restaurant highly recommended by a pool guy. He really liked giving local non-chain restaurants his support. We ordered 3 steaks, fish, chicken Philly and a couple of appetizers. The steaks were undercooked. We sent one back and it was returned overcooked and tough. Management did the right thing and took that one off the bill. The chicken Philly was dry. The fish was good but seemed a little oily not sure what caused that. Onion Rings were presented on a rebar spike which was unique 5 likes 2 not great. The construction theme was very different and well done throughout. I actually saw him argue with several bartenders slamming stuff down and our server actually told me that he was a terrible GM. Apparently this place as been doing terrible recently despite the reviews but I did not know that when we went. This was a place we went to on vacation so we aren't local. Other tables were there told us it took them over an hour to get food and basically every table was going to get a 10% discount only off bill because of the slow service and time. Seriously, I have no idea how this place has a 4.0 review and higher overall. I assume it's a lot of regulars that get the same stuff. When we were there it was a lot of older people so I assume its family members of them leaving reviews. But mine needs to be seen. This place is not good and should not be in business. This was such a cute concept! The littles in our dining party were simply over the moon with the decor and their construction hats. The menu has a wide variety of options, and our party of 7 sampled a bit of everything. Starting with the appetizers: unfortunately, they were out of the fried green tomatoes, but the spinach dip was tasty (especially the dirty chips) and the potato skins were great. The kids loved the chicken boulders (I stole a bite and thought these were some of the best chicken tenders - the breading was really unique and the chicken was perfectly moist). Of the adult plates: salad was fine, nothing to write home about, the Mac and Cheese skillets were a highlight (both the pork and the chicken), but the French onion soup was pretty awful (though the concept of serving in a thermos was cute). The staff was attentive and our server was very nice. I was sad to see how empty the restaurant was, as you can tell how much love they've poured into this establishment...it looks nothing like the former Sweet Tomatoes and is truly something unique. They nailed the concept! Kids and fans of construction will love the way this place is laid out. The souvenir hard hats, the excavator seating, the pick up truck bed and dumpster seating. The theme is everywhere and on point. However, while they excel in concept, they fail terribly in service and food. When we arrived for our reservation time. We, and several other parties were standing around with no host in site. The place looked empty. We could see one person working the kitchen but the bar was unstaffed and not a server or host in sight. Finally after 20 minutes a gentleman came to start seating the growing crowd of people that had gathered in the small entry way. He was pleasant enough and made sure all of the kids got hard hats but provided zero apologies or explanation for the wait. Once seated we waited at least another 20 minutes before a server even greeted us and that was just to say she'd be right with us. This place was not busy, there were several servers but they seemed so incredibly disorganized. Fast forward to the arrival of the food. The food was subpar and bland. One order of fries was severely undercooked and had to be sent back. The kids tenders were so greasy and bland that our son barely touched them. This place is an awesome concept and they could really excel with proper management, service, and culinary staff but it falls well short of the mark in its current state, especially for the price. We had about 9 people, so we figured this would help ensure everything went smoothly. Also, though their website says it's setup to book reservations , it was functional when we attempted to book anything. When we arrived it took the staff a while to notice anyone had arrived. Took about 15 minutes for the waiter to get our drink orders as no one had told them the table was assigned to them. I'm usually cold but the restaurant was hot inside (about 78+ degrees). The restaurant was not busy (maybe 5 other tables or so). We ordered the spinach dip, which seemed reheated and the chips were stale. We also ordered chicken wings and onion rings from the appetizers which were tasty. We shared the mac and cheese with pork and burger which were flavorful as well. Overall, the experience wasn't bad but I feel there are some kinks that need to be ironed out. Service was slow, heat of the restaurant, and everything seemed a bit unorganized. We loved the concept of the restaurant and decorations throughout. I feel the restaurant has a lot of potential if they can overcome some of the issues we faced. read more

I visited during one of the soft opening nights, and from the moment I stepped in, the theme truly transported me. The entire place feels like you're in a high-rise construction zone, and the attention to detail is impressive. The furniture and decor are thoughtfully designed to add to the experience. Since I was dining solo, I was seated near the bar at one of the high tables, which was perfect. I ordered the southwest flatbread, which was delicious! Topped with corn, tomatoes, peppers, cheese, avocado, and more, the flavors blended perfectly. The restaurant was spotless, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
