Delicious rack of ribs, taters, and plantains

Its been to long since we were last here so we stopped in again. I love the food here! We walked in and were greeted immediately and given a menu. Once you've looked it over you ring the bell and place your order. It isn't a long wait and you're eating delicious bbq! I love the decor here as its very Hawaii. They have books and games too! I just wish they'd play Hawaiian music or surf songs lol. The country music just throws things off. Highly recommend. If anything its gotten better! The plantains are delicious and i love the sauces!

6 beers on tap. Plus more in the case for bottle and cans. Great atmosphere. Millitary theme in men's room. Owner is an army veteran. I got spicy sausage smashed red bliss potatoes, and slaw. Very personable owner.

    The Slaw-Py Pulled Pork Sammy

Traveling through New Hampshire , we found this place just off of the highway. I ordered the bay of pigs tacos ($16 each) and my wife ordered The Slaw-Py Pulled Pork Sammy ($18 each) and two Poland spring bottled waters ($3 each). The Slaw-Py Pulled Pork Sammy was very good and the smash potatoes were quite tasty. We both enjoy things with a kick, and the sandwich delivered! Great blend of flavors. The tacos were a slight disappointment for two reasons. The first being that the tomatoes were very wet which caused the tacos to be super soggy. I really like that crisp tortilla, and they appeared that they were grilled to perfection prior to the tomato's being added. Additionally the pork was a bit on the dry side. I typically like a moist pulled pork, and perhaps I just got a drier section of the pan? I'd definitely stop back again, but I'd probably grab something different vs. the tacos again. Also on a side note, and yes I know this happens everywhere, but, I am always a bit surprised when a bottled water exceeds 1.50. Shame on me for not asking the cost prior, but the drinks were not marked. I assumed that a bottled water would be a reasonable cost, but I personally don't think that is reasonable. I would have rated this a three star based on the tacos and the water prices, but the staff was super friendly, and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

If you live around the area or maybe in town for leaf peeping, this place is a nice pit stop for a great meal with fantastic service. The service was friendly and accommodating as soon as we walked through the doors. We had the pulled pork with grilled veg and side salad -- plus the bumba sauce! And oh my goodness, it really hit the spot. The peanut sauce was creamy and paired perfectly with the pork. The veg was fresh and the pork was flavorful. My son had the spamwich and loved every bite. It was savory and filling, with a touch of sweetness. They truly bring the Aloha Spirit and sunshine to New England. Highly recommend.

This place is the best of both worlds Hawaiian and BBQ. The workers here were cool people, laid back and great all around. They cooked the food super fast! The flavors oh man were out of this world. You can taste the smokiness in almost everything. They have sauces for days which I need to try them all. The place was super clean and had decor everywhere making you feel like you been to Hawaii.

Tacos and burger were excellent!!! Service was also awesome, love the atmosphere. Great vibes and relaxing space.

Big Kahunas Smokehouse opened recently next door to Shooter's Outpost (Husband Day Care Center) along Hooksett Road (US 3/NH 28). This is their second location to their first eatery, which is Big Kahunas Cafe & Grill in Merrimack. This place is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Big Kahunas Smokehouse is not your typical eatery, which serves up a variety of choices with some Caribbean, Hawaiian and South Pacific flare including smokehouse BBQ entrees, burgers, bowls, sammies, tokos (tacos), hot dogs, smashers, and vegan choices too! The BBQ sauces are homemade including Spicy Caribbean, Maui (no heat), Bali Sweet Soy, Bumbu Peanut Sauce. They also serve breakfast too, but at the time of this review, they open at 10 AM. The prices are moderate, most entrees in the $12-$20 range, slighlty lower than typical prices at Hawaii restaurants (my sister is in charge of 2 restaurants on Oahu and Maui). They also offer draft and bottled/can beer here including 603, Bud Light, Sam Adams, Blue Moon, Pacifico, and Kona Big Wave on draft, bottled cooler drinks, and Kona coffee. The place is order at the counter and there is indoor seating with ample tables, colorful painted walls, decorations, pictures, and a collection of used books to read. There is also outside covered seating along the front and side of the restaurant on the wooden deck. I stopped by recently for dinner takeout since I wanted some BBQ. I ordered Lechon Kawali Pork Belly ($15 plus tax) with 2 sides - Smashers and Cole Slaw. My ordered was packed and ready to go in about 10 minutes. However, when I got home to eat, they gave me Caribbean Pulled Pork instead of the Lechon Kawali Pork Belly I ordered which was the same price at $15. The Pulled Pork was my second choice, which was very tender with mostly lean meat and minimal fat covered with Spicy Caribbean BBQ sauce with a smoky flavor and not too spicy. The smashers (roasted seasoned potatoes) were very good, with a firm texture. The cole slaw (crunchy red cabbage & carrots) had a slightly bitter flavor, which was expected. Other than receiving Pulled Pork instead of the Pork Belly ordered, the food I had was still pretty good. Maybe they ran out since my order receipt was correct. I will try this place again in the future.

    Hawaii Five-oh with smashers.

Finding the parking lot? Easy.Finding the actual bar & grill? A full-blown scavenger hunt. At night there are ZERO lights, dark signage, and my only landmark was, "Ah yes... follow the sacred Guinness imagery on the front doors like a slightly tipsy pilgrim seeking barley and salvation." During daylight I'm sure it's obvious, but at night (especially in rain or snow) you're basically navigating by faith, GPS betrayal, and hopeful vibes. Staff was attentive, relaxed, and perfectly matched the laid-back local bar & grill energy. The kind of place where regulars probably have "their chair". I didn't catch our waitress's name, but she fully understood the assignment -- group of friends, multiple drinks, laughter escalating in volume -- we felt welcomed, never rushed, and were allowed to spiral socially at our own pace. It was trivia night (we did not participate because our confidence exceeds our actual trivia knowledge), but surrounding tables were living their competitive lives. The menu is... honestly a conversation starter. It's giving jack-of-all-trades comfort food chaos. Where else are you seeing shepherd's pie egg rolls casually coexisting with liver and onions like they negotiated a diplomatic treaty at the United Nations of Comfort Food? Naturally, curiosity and poor impulse control won, and the table ordered the shepherd's pie egg rolls. Because -- science. Drinks: * Beer drinkers were happy -- solid selection, zero complaints. Glasses remained suspiciously empty which tells me everything I need to know.* I ordered a French Martini which immediately turned into the community sample martini. Consensus: enjoyed by others. Personally? Ce n'est pas mon préféré. Growth is knowing when a martini is not your soulmate. C'est la vie! Food: * A couple of us ordered the pot pie -- good temperature, solid comfort vibes, but the crust was thin and a little chewy instead of crispy, flaky and and emotionally supportive. Slight emotional letdown because crispy crust is possibly a love language. * I'm normally anti-fish taco, but a friend loved them. I tried a bite and will admit... flaky, fresh, and not oily at all. Respect where respect is due. Overall:Comfortable local hangout energy, friendly service, interesting menu, but the nighttime invisibility cloak on the building nearly had me questioning my GPS and my eyesight and whether I had accidentally entered a secret speakeasy that requires password authentication. Would go back -- now that I know I'm looking for Guinness signs like they're ancient runes safely guiding me toward carbs and cocktails!

I cant really complain about anything here except to say that it was dark. However, thats most bar…read moretype restaurants. The food was delicious and the service friendly. We were a party of five. Three of us had the Korean steak tips and the others were meatloaf and shepherds pie. I ordered my steak with the green beans (vegetable of the day) and a side of fries. The seasoning on the steak was really good and it was extremely tender. The green beans were fresh and slightly crisp. The fries were fries. They would have been amazing had they been fresh instead of frozen but they were not bad. The dinner was 30 dollars. A bit high but the steak was very memorable. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. They had quite a bit to choose from for dessert but noone could do it. Definitely a great date night place.
