The subs are not cheap and for $12-$15 for a large ,you should be able to see the meat when you open the wrapping but they are very light on the meat so all you see is the bread unless you open it up. I think there are three subs you need to get to fully judge a sub shop. Italian, steak and cheese, and roast beef. Steak and Cheese- I get the "extra" version. I forget what it's called but it has salami on it. Torpedo maybe? Anyways, bomb, salami is a great touch. Xtra Mayo is my thing on cheesesteaks. This is delicious. Loaded with steak, hot melted cheese I can TASTE. Pickles, tomato, hots, x Mayo. If I was gunna make this a perfect 5, I'd probably have to change the bread. The bread is just sorta....it carries the meat to my mouth but it doesn't add anything to my sub. 4/5 Italian- Excellent. I can taste the meats individually. Good meat! Very basic, but important stuff here! X Mayo, add hots. Really good. Oh yeah and the lettuce with oil and vinegar is clutch!4/5 Roast Beef- not ever going to get it. Brothers Roast Beef in Weymouth, MA has a roast beef to DIE for. Seriously I'd die for it. Anyways if I went to Sub Station, the roast beef bar is too high and I wouldn't want to be disappointed with a good thing. I'll just go Italian or steak torpedo every time and be a perfectly happy customer. All this being said, SS has the best subs around I've had so far. This is an outstanding sub place. The bread is absolutely fresh. We ordered the steak and cheese and it has to be the best I have ever had. This used to be our FAVORITE place for subs and fries, but since Teresa and Jack left, so did our live for this place. Fries were cold and some were still frozen. You get 1/2 the meat, cheese and veggies that the previous owners used to offer. Not worth the price at all. So utterly disappointing. read more

Sub station is a nice alternative to some of the Greek/Italian pizza and sub establishments. I rank their steak and cheese a 4 out of 5. The steak can be overcooked at times. Lines are always busy, there really isn't a order online pickup line. No matter what they are marking for you they can make it in 5-10 minutes. Can't rate the food but the employees suck. I had read good reviews so decided to give it a shot. Tried calling in my order but nobody answered the phone. So ordered online with credit card cause that's the only option (lame). Get there at 7:30 and the door is locked. Sign on the door says open till 8. Sub station is one of those places you walk into and know right off that you've stumbled on something special, from the gentleman that took my order (pinpointing my name without prompting), to the deliciously hot sandwiches, thins is literally one of the best sandwich shops I've had. The single thing I can bemoan of this place is that it isn't closer to where I live! It's worth noting the food is made hot and fresh so you may have to wait, but the food is well worth it! I'd ask warn you that this place can get busy at lunch, probably because of how dang delicious the subs are! Overall I highly recommend this place, especially if you're in the nearby area. Today I had my vehicle at a local mechanic's shop and my mechanic recommended this local shop which we decided to eat at. My father and our mechanic Phil both got a Turkey Club in a pita pocket while I opted for the large cheeseburger sub. They both thoroughly enjoyed their subs while I also enjoyed mine. Their large is a 14" inch, so it was very filling, I could only eat half! They gave me grilled onions for free and the sub was toasty and hot. We got a large bag of UTZ Russet potato chips, which were phenomenal. The staff was also very nice, the lady who took my order was one of the nicest, and most courteous I have seen in some time. I would definitely go again and recommend it to others who are in the area! The only downfall to this place was that it was very bland on the inside. It was basically a large white room with tables and assorted soda machines. I think if they made it a little more cozy and gave it some attitude this place would do much better. That being said, having all the white means you have to keep it even cleaner, and this place was CLEAN. Check it out.....it's worth it! read more

Great subs with the freshest bread. You have to share a large the sub it so big. Great weekly specials during mid week. The shop totally surprised us. In our 2nd time ordering we ordered 7 subs for a party and asked them to slice it in quarters via a phone order. When I picked it up they sliced it in quarters and put them in big trays which was a great way to serve the sandwich. They also labeled the sandwiches on the tray at the end of the tray.
