We were there on a Friday night before closing. As we were trying to check out and purchase our…read moreitems, we had an issue with the debit card we were trying to use. The clerk named D*z became visibly irritated and short with us. Instead of trying to help us with our card, she began telling her coworker who had walked over, an African American middle aged woman with no name tag on, that "this always happens" (we presumed she was talking about issues with customers trying to check out right before closing) but the two of them engaged in a very passive aggressive conversation in front of my sister and me about us while we were standing there. Our items were already bagged in our cart, but since we couldn't use the debit card we tried to use, I told D*z that I would only be purchasing some of the items, and to cancel that initial transaction. She told her coworker that the stuff we had left in the cart were "go backs" and the woman huffed loudly while grabbing the 2 paper bags and flipping all of the contents out into the cart, ripping the bags and damaging the food products in the process. She and D*z became so aggressive in that moment. I told D*z I would still be buying the bag of items I put back on the conveyor belt. She took the first two items out of the bag and threw them (literally chucked them) at the end of the belt for bagging after scanning them, at which point my sister said, "Let's go." I have been in some shady Walmarts in my day but never have felt as unsafe with employees as I did that night. Management needs to focus on training staff to engage with the public. And if people don't have the patience to engage with others, then they should not be put on register. I will drive all the way over to the Walmart on Main in Hesperia instead of ever going back to the AV location, (which is a cluttered dump anyway, comparatively) and has questionable employees. Most of whom have their name tags on backward.

Zero stars for front-end management: The checkout process was an absolute nightmare. The Scene: Sunday morning, the store and parking lot were packed. You'd assume a store would staff accordingly for its busiest day. The Problem: Despite the chaos, only two standard checkout lanes were open. The express lane was closed, forcing customers with full carts and those with just one or two items into the same sluggish lines. The Result: I timed it. It took 16 minutes to get through the line to purchase one single item. This isn't an exaggeration; it's a failure of basic operational planning. Until management learns how to schedule properly, I cannot recommend this store to anyone. The frustration is not worth it.

Definitely did not plan out the holidays as well as previous years, but we got everything we needed and at fairly reasonable prices... It is your store after all (or so the old slogan would say). Albertsons of the High Desert is located in Apple Valley in shared shopping center with Walmart, McDonalds, O'Reilly's auto part and Taco Bell off Hwy 18 aka Happy Trails Highway. The Albertson's has a US Bank store branch (closed for the holiday, but ATM available) as well as a Sav-on's pharmacy (closed every Monday). You can find all the essentials from bakery to floral to deli departments and all your essentials... Beer, Wine and Spirits being on the pharmacy side entrance along the wall (technically the last isle of the store)... Was really impressed with some of the deals going on in these isles... including closeout specials (which of course were mostly gone giving huge red tag markdowns). Being so close to the famous Route 66, you can find some fun collectibles, gifts and souvenirs as well as some touches of R66's history. Being the only major grocer in Apple Valley open on Christmas day, it was plenty busy, however the Albertson's Apple V crew kept things flowing and somehow with more than enough holiday cheer... though that one gentlemen in deli was extremely upset with a customer who was giving him the worst x-mas with nothing but hostility... She blamed him for the department not being open like the rest of the store even though he didn't work in that section. She made him list off who she could've spoken to earlier to see if the department was open... I guess there was a misunderstanding because the physical store was closing at 3/30pm that day, but the deli department wasn't open at all... But she took that out on him O.O even though he wasn't there in the morning and had just started his shift. It was pretty wild... Like the overall layout of the store itself.. I think it's a very Albertson's thing. A lot of refrigerated items you don't see as much in other chain grocers... Almost all the dairy as well as non-dairy was behind glass, like the frozen goods and beer. I use the Vons app when shopping here, but you can use any of the ones affiliated with Safeway, including Pavillons,... Same number and/or account across the board. I had recently participated in a toy drive for underprivileged children and/or young adults in our…read morelocal communities. I sponsored 8 young adults between the ages of 17-20. Some of the gift ideas were mostly gift cards so here I am at Target to see what are available. Wall of gift cards has lots of options from sit down restaurants to fast food restaurants to shopping to movie theaters to Google Play to Play Station to Target and more. Please note there are NO Amazon gift cards available. Why would there be, right? That's okay. I ended up getting these gift cards... 4 $25 Target, 3 $25 AMC, 1 $25 Play Station, 9 $10 Subway, and 8 $10 Starbucks. Subway comes in 1 pack with 3 $10 so I got 3 packs. Starbucks come in 1 pack with 4 $10 so I got 2 packs. Total came out to be $370.00 which averages out to be $45 per young adult (I gave the extra $10 Subway to my daughter). Hope the shopping/movie and food/drink treat brings the young adults some good cheer this holiday season. Check-out was easy. Staff was friendly. Btw, Target no longer has the red gift envelopes for their gift cards. Thank you Target for your Gift Cards wall! Grateful for the massive options.

Me and my daughter are collectors of Pokemon and there's a couple other families that collect…read morePokemon. We know that there are scalpers among us, but we don't really care. We waited two nights and two different routes and the white heavy set manager at the target comes out and tells everybody oh we don't have no Pokemon Guys, even though they have it in the back and one of the workers told me that they have it so they're literally not wanting to sell us Pokemon when we're trying to collect, we rip everything to look on your kids face when the manager plays with them like that pretty sad. Hope she gets fired from her job. No the other manager in the morning she's an African-American lady very nice. Puts all the product out in the morning. Everybody gets in the orderly line fashion but the other heavyset white lady Manager. She's really mean and very disrespectful.

I was at the deli purchasing meat when I observed two serious sanitation concerns from the employee…read moreassisting me: 1. The employee did not change their gloves after returning from the back area, creating uncertainty about what they may have handled beforehand. 2. The deli meat was placed on a food preparation surface directly adjacent to trash can lids. When I brought this to the employee's attention, he stated that the trash can lids had been sanitized. However, this still constitutes cross-contamination, especially given that the area was clearly marked "food prep area only." He did not seem to understand the severity of the issue. When I asked if he could step aside so I could take additional photos, he quickly removed the meat. I have included a photo documenting the violation and hope that this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately.

She immediately approached and began scanning my belongings without asking, and in the process was pushing my son's stroller. My son is on the Spectrum, and during this interaction she made an inappropriate and hurtful comment, saying, "Is this thing yours?" referring to my Son . I found this extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I left feeling judged and uncomfortable by the way I was treated. I hope this matter is addressed so customers are treated with respect and basic human kindness, regardless of their situation.
