We were there on a Friday night before closing. As we were trying to check out and purchase our items, we had an issue with the debit card we were trying to use. The clerk named D*z became visibly irritated and short with us. Instead of trying to help us with our card, she began telling her coworker who had walked over, an African American middle aged woman with no name tag on, that "this always happens" (we presumed she was talking about issues with customers trying to check out right before closing) but the two of them engaged in a very passive aggressive conversation in front of my sister and me about us while we were standing there. Our items were already bagged in our cart, but since we couldn't use the debit card we tried to use, I told D*z that I would only be purchasing some of the items, and to cancel that initial transaction. She told her coworker that the stuff we had left in the cart were "go backs" and the woman huffed loudly while grabbing the 2 paper bags and flipping all of the contents out into the cart, ripping the bags and damaging the food products in the process. She and D*z became so aggressive in that moment. I told D*z I would still be buying the bag of items I put back on the conveyor belt. She took the first two items out of the bag and threw them (literally chucked them) at the end of the belt for bagging after scanning them, at which point my sister said, "Let's go." I have been in some shady Walmarts in my day but never have felt as unsafe with employees as I did that night. Management needs to focus on training staff to engage with the public. And if people don't have the patience to engage with others, then they should not be put on register. I will drive all the way over to the Walmart on Main in Hesperia instead of ever going back to the AV location, (which is a cluttered dump anyway, comparatively) and has questionable employees. First time here at this Walmart in Apple Valley. I find it is a bit smaller than most Walmarts that I have visited. Anyway, I came to return some items I purchased online. I had already started my returns via online so it was easy once I got here. There was a line of 6 people ahead of me. The wait was a tad long unfortunately. Luckily, once it got to me, it was fairly swift. There were two items that I returned, but Walmart said I may keep them for use, donation, or whatever I want and I would still get a refund for them. This was a first for me. Thank you Walmart, but the corsets are too small for me (LOL) so I'll be donating them. Customer service staff was pleasant. The customer service area setup was kind of odd. It's located right at the entrance. Usually, I would walk into an area or room of some sort for customer service, but I guess there's just no extra space for the luxury of a room. No big deal. I did stroll around the store to check out some things, but I ended up not getting anything after all. I have to say, the store was very clean and organized. Inventory appears to be well stocked. I really wish we could get a Supercenter here in Apple Valley. I'm not too bougie to shop at Walmart. A good deal is still a good deal but dang does it piss me off that all their stuff is locked up and you gotta hunt down an employee to unlock it for you. Plus that section that you can't take your cart it and you have to buy your stuff to get out that is what makes me say I'm going to Target. Walmart is terrible. Coming to this store just made me realize even more why I don't like Walmart. I normally don't shop at Walmart, but we were visiting from out of state. Store is open, but customer service desk is closed. It closed several hours before the store closed. I had never heard of that before. A rather truncated Walmart, actually just an older regular store rather than a supercenter. This one has limited grocery items due to space. I couldn't find the peanut butter I usually get but I did find the other items that I needed during this visit. I used their pick up service previously one time only. Since this is a smaller store, some items were out of stock with substitutions required. The pick up location is difficult to find in the lot after dark, despite the signage. It is absolutely not well lit at all and felt unsafe. I will try to avoid this Walmart unless I am in the area for something else. Been here a few times close to home and convenient hours. I have asked about in stock items and if not on the shelves, they say "wait here while I check in the back" and bring me out the items. If I can't find something, you ask and they walk you over and help you look. Very impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. read more

Let me start out by saying I seldom ever shop Walmart and this is a good reminder why. I would give them zero stars if the app allowed it. Their customer service and return policy sucks! Did I say it sucks! It sucks! This store sold me a transfer shower chair in a jacked up box and then refused to take it back when I tried to return it because the seals on the box was broken (that's how it was sold to me) but all the clear tape on the box was still in tact and I had the receipt in hand. In my opinion they let someone else return it, taped it up knowingly the next person who purchased it couldn't return it. Unfortunately for me it was the only one in the store at the time, so I thought the need for one at the time over rode the jacked up box it was in because my husband just had VP Shunt brain surgery. I don't get it they say the seals are for health reasons and that's why you can't return them, but they sure didn't have a problem selling it to me with the seals broken that way. This item literally never left my car from time of purchase. I told them to pull their f..... video cameras and they would see it was sold to me like that. I have no reason to lie. The managers reply "Our cameras aren't that good we wouldn't be able to tell. Really, I call bulls....t! You know what also really burns me is while we're standing there in line to return the item people were able to exchange items with no receipts at all. Or how about the fact that you can steal up to $5,000 worth of stuff and they will just let you walk out of the store, but they won't honor the items they sell with a receipt. No wonder union people call it rat mart. By all means customers don't be honest paying tax citizens, because you'll get stuck holding the box literally. read more

False advertisement!!! I chose a carseat that was prices at $99.98 only to be rang up at the cashier for $214.00. When I told them it was displayed at $99 they "go and check" and suddenly price changes to $199.00. I said it was clearly labeled at $99 on the shelf and they ask me to "prove it" so i go and show them and then they give me a crap story about that seat being placed in the wrong place and that the area is tagged for "remodel" and i tell them that they should at least change the tags or remove them instead of having us go through this whole situation of being charged incorrectly and they instead said unfortunately we cannot give you the price displayed unless more than 4 of the same item is on display. Makes no sense they should be held more accountable for their errors. Needless to say i did not buy a car seat because non of the seats displayed "showed the correct price for said item" where it was placed. They need to get it together. This Walmart is terrible and lack luster. It's small, crowded, and has bad lighting. It's like you're walking into an old K-Mart. Yelp says it's a "Supercenter" but I'd beg to differ....it's unlike any Walmart I've been too in quite a long time. I can't understand why such a fast growing area is stuck with a Walmart trapped in the 80's. They'd do the city a favor by shutting down temporarily and remodeling. I've been to this location quite often and never had an issue until yesterday 6/14. I had gone through the self check out lane using scan and go. When I walked through the male employee didn't say anything to me and there isn't any signs letting you know which register to use. So I figured you can use any register like you could before. So after checking out I get to the door to show the employee my receipt on my phone. All of a sudden this rude female employee comes at me with an attitude stating "I told you several times that you can't use any register for scan and go. You need to use this two register." She has never told me anything about those registers. She had me confused with someone else. This was the first time using those register since they opened then back up. I have also never seen her on the sales floor. Every time I come to this store I always see her at the customer service desk. I then told her I don't know why you're coming at me with an attitude. I didn't known. She then stated "I don't have an attitude. I'm just trying to tell you for your convenience. We need to see your transaction and the person at the door needs to see it as well. I need to see your receipt now." I then told her I was trying to show the guy at the door my receipt. She was basically accusing me of stealing. I pay over a hundred dollars a year for Walmart plus only to be treated this way. If you don't want people using scan and go. Then get rid of it. Stop treating your customers like crap. Also, put signs up and train your employees to better assist customers. Because why didn't the male employee say anything to me when I came through self check out? I don't think I will shop at this location anymore. I really wanted to return all my items after being treated this way. Apple Valley Wal-Mart do better. read more

This Wal-Mart is my "go to" store. It's so close that sometimes I can pay a little more, to drive a little less. Customer service: I find most of the staff very friendly and accomidating. There's only two people working at this store who I believe shouldn't be in customer service. One of the managers, everytime I deal with him I get the feeling he's just "Yes mam-ing" me and when he really doesn't give a #$#*! Then the guy back in gardening, who feels you've somehow destroyed his kingdom by entering and the nicer you are to him the groucher he becomes. Do us all a favor, retire! I would tell the manager But it would fall on deaf's ears, as already stated. I'd just get some really sweet apathy. But all the other staff is friendly and professional. For it being one of the smaller non super super stores, it's well stocked, clean and friendly! As far as the prices, I watch them jump thier prices from low to high daily ecspecially around the holidays they super seasonally spike. And watch that the price on the display matches the price you are actually charged. I've experienced large discrepancies through the years. So you can't always trust the marked price. Which makes this a lot of work for the consumers. Security: you have the freedom in this store to shop with your cart in cosmetics while you can't in Victorville. But the top security shows up at the door when they check to see if all the items match the receipt. They really study this. At least they are kind while checking. Right now they opened the parking lot to more varieties of garden supplies. Wouldn't know too much about that since I avoid grouchy pants over there. I wonder how much money they've lost by me avoiding him since gardening is one of my thangs! Return line: that line is always too long anymore so you rarely see me return things because I can't afford the time to camp out. Ahh..my new local Walmart. Within a 10 mile radius there are 3 Walmarts, why I do not know but this one is closest to home. Unfortunatly this is by far the worst one! No deli/butcher/bakery, in fact the food is only two isles right in the middle of the store, dim lightening, never have what I need. I have been taking my car here for oil changes for about a year and a half, anyway this last time when they did the oil change when I went to pay they said they had to evac. The oil out because the drain plug bolt was stripped, anyway they are the only ones who have done oil changes on my car, it was new, and they damaged my car, I don't want them to fix it, I don't trust them anymore, I will get this problem fixed elsewhere, they just lost a long time customer! I came to this walmart on thursday 5-5-2022 for the first time for an oil change. The job was done within about 40 minutes. I drove my car for 2 days and on saturday 5-7-2022 on my to L.a my car started smelling like oil burning. I pull over and pop my hood and seen that the techs did NOT put my oil cap back on nor did they put my engine cover back on. So my engine was doing like a volcano spilling out all of the oil. My car started over heating. Theres oil all over my engine and now my car making noises it never made before! I have oil all over my windshield and the whole passenger side of the vehicle is splattered with oil. When i spoke to the supervisor he said the techs that worked on my car are new! So they dont train or supervise all new employees? They offered me my money back..but what about my car?? I am now having problems with the car due to the oil getting everywhere! Im being told not to even drive my car that its dangerous cause it can catch fire at anytime!!
