Grocery Outlet is a large chain in California that is similar to Mike's -- they're a discount opportunistic grocery that sells items close to expiration/are being discontinued. When we moved back to Minnesota, we were very sad to not have Grocery Outlet anymore. But then, we found Mike's. Mike's is amazing. I'd argue it's even better than Grocery Outlet, and miles above any average grocery store in the cities. The primary draw to Mike's is the pricing -- things are very cheap compared to other grocers. This is possible because they don't have a broad selection and stock items that are close to expiration or being discontinued. It's not uncommon to find things that didn't sell at other stores here. The downside is that they rarely have consistent stock. However, if you have an open mind, you won't be disappointed. There are snacks, frozen items, household goods and even clothes that are very cheap. Lastly, the staff are all very kind and do their best to help. Go here!!!!

When we walked up there was 2 staff assisting customers one of the cashiers was on his phone a bit and once the process with the customer completed he walked away even though there were at least 7 parties waiting in line and that left 1 cashier and they were moving slow with each customer. I feel like she should have called for backup or someone should have but seemed like they just didn't care. I then go home and realize that it's the wrong costume, so i drive back (mind you, within the same hour) and ask if i can get a refund because a worker earlier had told me i could. What i got back was a woman yelling in my face and rolling her eyes at me saying "no you can't" and "why are coustmers so dumb" and all sorts of snarky little comments. I then ask if i can speak to her manager in which her response was "no" and when asked why, all she says is "i don't know where she is". I then decide to let her calm down and walk around a bit and come back when there is another level headed employee. I came back about 5-10 minutes later to find the same employee who earlier told me i can return as long as it's before 7:30. I then tell him that i would like to return an item. He then says "uhhhh, no i can't do that" in which my response was "you told me less than 2 hours ago that i could." And he says back, "i don't remember seeing you here". At this moment i ask him where the manager is, and his response is "My manager isn't here", so i ask him "when is your manager in?" And he replies "I'm not going to tell you, leave before i call security". And once again the same girl from earlier sees me and says "ugh, what is he doing here still". Upon hearing this, i was offended. How dare you, an employee who promises a customer that they can return an item, threaten to call security on a paying customer? Furthermore, you wouldn't even let me see your manager and talk this out. At this point there is no reason for me to want the return, but the fact that the employees here treated me like this is OUTRAGEOUS. I'll probably be back tomorrow once again to talk this out, but at this point there is no point in coming back. 100% DO NOT GO HERE, unless you want to be treated like a piece of meat walking around paying money.

Turns out they don't have much for farm supplies in store but they did have a bag of mealworms in their wild bird section for $8 which is amazing, I'll continue to shop here for those! I also grabbed some baby aspirin to have on hand for my flock if needed and was able to find their vegan meat frozen section after some looking. I stocked up on some favorites since their prices were so good. I'll definitely be back! I did self checkout and the greeter was kind when I left. Easy to find most items and this location wasn't crazy busy like others I've been to, easy to find parking and get in and out.

The old woman running Money Center rudely barked at us to get behind the blue ribbons for service. I told her she didnt need to be rude about it.
