I had an order delivered to the store. I went to the cashier and told them about my pickup. The cashier told a new employee to call in the back. They asked my name and then proceeded to checking people out. 6 mins later I asked if they got a confirmation the senior cashier said yes and asked for my name again. 10 mins go by as she proceeds to continue checking people out and I asked if they got a confirmation. She said "yes" and proceeded to ask my name again. I asked if she could please radio in the back for a confirmation and she radioed in for a confirmation and by this time the store manager came up and helped me locate my order and I asked very apologetic as she said she did not get notified until the last radio call. The manager was beyond helpful and she is the reason why I am giving 3 stars instead of none. They do have a good assortment of home goods that are reasonably priced. read more

order BF40129121 I bought a set of clothes for my husband 11 days before Christmas, among those clothes, a jacket. We plan to bring that set of clothes to wear on this week's trip. I did not receive the jacket, the tracking number does not make any route or process.. I called customer service today, and Patricia informed me that she has no idea why I didn't receive it and they are going to call another company, she doesn't know when I will receive it. Yesterday I sent a message that no one answered and evidently Bealls does not care about my loyalty as a customer, nor my membership. My husband received his incomplete gift and the lack of follow-up from Bealls is very frustrating, they have very bad customers services, they didn't cared or apologized to me, I asked them to send me an email as a record, since they collected the money, Patricia didn't do it. These experiences confirm to me once again why Amazon is so successful, they have an outstanding service and they take responsibility for what they sell and how they respond to a request, since we can all have errors and losses, the difference is how we respond to that situation. . Finally I spoke with four customer services representative none of them transferred to a manager, all of them said different answer about what they are going to do, and I have a charge in my bank account regarding the jacket I never received and the tracking number goes to nowhere. I recently stepped inside a Bealls Department Store for the first time. I have always been a Bealls Outlet shopper. I was looking for some dry fit clothes to wear to Disney and this store was close to my house. I found the dry fit clothes that I needed on my first trip. I have since been back again and found some comfortable shoes on sale as well as a Columbia rain jacket. What I like about the regular department store that is different from the outlet is they send me coupons weekly. So if I need to purchase something I just about always have a coupon which I love! They also have a frequent shopper program where you can earn points when you spend money in the store. I received a $5 coupon for signing up. I love to shop but I love to save money even more! This way I get more for my money. The associates have always been friendly and helpful. And the dressing rooms clean. read more

. OMG, where do I begin!!!!! First, I've been a CC customer for decades. I used to live in Florida for 33 years until Hurricane Ian wiped me out and I had to leave. I was ordering online. I have never, ever been late with a payment. I tried to place an order yesterday and charge my Bealls CC, it wouldn't go through. I looked up my last statement and there was more than enough to use, but on my account website there wasn't. I spoke to a rep and got no where and then I talked to a supervisor, rude Sean (sp) who explained to me that they lowered my available credit due to my credit report. First of all why are checking my credit report I didn't ask for an increase. It was only an $80 decrease but why????? So, due to this stupid kind of business practice I canceled my CC. I was a faithful, on time paying customer, not any more. I hope you're proud of yourselves. Go to hell! Also, they never informed me this was being done. read more

I spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to set up my account online - I told the supervisor that it wasn't working - just get error messages, reset user ID and PW, more error messages. She said that it would take 15 minutes for it to automatically activate - that was 5 days ago!! I told her I would not pay $2.99 for a paper statement. I told her, based on my records what my correct balance was and she didn't have any record of any of my transactions. I told her I would just pay her over the phone and she said she would charge me a $9 fee to pay her! I have been a loyal Bealls customer for 27 years, and used to love shopping at Bealls, Bealls Outlet and Home Centric. - The company has gone downhill - I am the only customer in any of your stores - no sales, no advertisements, online system doesn't work, can't access my account after 20 tries! Great deals- I was given a gift card for my birthday & went shopping. I'm an xl in missy or 1x in womens- the miss department is well kept, organized, folded displays & the plus size is a mess. Not just unkempt- but a dump zone for miss, petites & even men's attire. That being said, I was able to find some clearance steals, a great dress & 2 bottoms. Dressing rooms were clean and spacious. The cashier, Macheona, advised me to grab some extra coupons online & saved me an extra $20! Overall- good shopping experience. read more

Visited the Hodges and Beach Blvd. store yesterday (09/01/11) afternoon. An employee named John followed me and my grandaughter around the entire store-asked once if he could be of assistance, which I declined-and continued to track me like a bloodhound. I wish to mention here that both my grandaughter and I were carrying wristlet purses-not giant totes or even a satchel or a tote, which to my thinking would rule out shoplifting. He stood by the fron door as we proceeded to check out, and then stepped away as we exited the store. The staff at this particular store have always been totally awesome, helpful, polite and friendly. Not this. John should be addressed regarding this behavior. DO NOT GET A BEALLS CREDIT CARD!!! Last year, I was talked into getting a Bealls Credit Card. Big Mistake! I get that they have a late fee, but they charged interest on the late fee itself. So I got charged the regular interest rate on the purchase charge (which is expected when not paid off for that month), and then and interest rate on the late fee. Then there were "fees" with no explanation other then being a fee charge!? When I called the "Customer Care" number on the card, it became clear that I was no longer in the United States. I was getting double talk from the representative and was aghast when she told me they were adding a $10 charge to my February bill for being late for January??? WHAT!!?? I went online to read my statements and they just confirmed the double talk; the balance on my card was ridiculously inflated. Therefore, I paid the balance on the card and cancelled the account. I can't afford that kind of double talk. read more

I'm an inveterate shopper who follows this rule of thumb: "there's nothing like a good bargain, but whether you're getting a discount or not you've got to love it. If you don't love it, walk away." I think this rule is the one of two factors that keeps me from being a hoarder; the other is my ability to purge from season to season. But I digress. Being new to life in Jacksonville and seeing the crowds of gorgeous ladies in cute shorts, sun dresses and effervescent blouses, I quickly realized how much I under packed. I was happy to find Beall's, a deep rooted long established Florida department store chain. This branch was conveniently located right next to my local Walmart. The apparel and accessories selection was actually really cute, meeting the high standards of any fashionista. The shorts fit right and provided "lift" in all the right places. You may recognize brands like Oneill, Salt Life, XOXO, Roxy, Converse, etc. Gators and GA Bulldogs fans can also find cute activewear to show their spirit. (To my fellow Chicagoans, Beall's reminds me a little of the now extinct Carson Pirie Scott on State Street - without the landmark Sullivan architecture.) I did some real damage finding several cute outfits and basics, but without putting a dent in the wallet. In fact, unknowingly I saved about a third of what I thought I was paying. Store Manager, Angela Warren is not very friendly and has a horrible, argumentative attitude. Had a VERY bad experience with her. Some employees are extremely helpful, but there are a select few that I had dealings with that were less than caring about what I needed. The store is very filthy, a lot of dust and trash on the floor. Bathrooms are not clean and have a bad smell. I like Bealls, but store #82 has a lot to be desired. It is rumored that Bealls Outlet will be taking half of the store's space for themselves, making the current store even harder to navigate, since the size will be reduced. The racks are haphazardly pushed together as it is and is not good for those in wheelchairs to have to traverse. I think the store should be inspected for safety. read more

I love this store. The selection is great for women's clothes and the prices are very reasonable. The employees are mostly friendly and helpful. I have had a little of great customer service and some meh over the course of several visits this year. My most recent shopping trip I picked up a shirt off the clearance rack and looked online for a coupon. 20% off. It brought my cute shirt down to 2.70! Score! Clearance is hit if miss like anywhere else but they usually have a sale or coupon for other items. read more

Bealls has become my go-to store for casual clothes and shoe shopping over the past year. Changing sizes first up then down made me shop more often than I used to. Many stores stock items that I feel are either too young for me or too old for me, but Bealls get it right for my preferred style. I love the newly renovated store with the bright lighting and the wider aisles making browsing easy. The employees here also make shopping a very pleasant experience. Everyone I have interacted with, either on the floor or behind the cash register has been so happy and helpful. Sure regular prices on the tags are not the the cheapest in town, but I am a frugal shopper, especially when shopping for things I do not really need. So Bealls appeals to me with the constant sales of 30 - 40% off or more, plus coupons you can double up on and get in your email weekly. And if you shop on Tuesday and you are 50 and older, you can get an extra 15% off on top of any sales or coupons for just being "50 and Fabulous". Most stores do not start senior discounts until an age I haven't quite reached yet, but I love that Bealls recognizes my fabulousness. I also find shoes, purses, and accessories that are good quality and reasonably priced. Bought something that doesn't thrill you so much once you get it home? No problem, returns are easy here. If you do happen to buy something that is on final clearance and discontinued, they will warn you at the register before you make the purchase that particular item will be non-returnable, though that does not happen very often. I avoid stopping in too frequently because, like most shoppers I can get sucked in to such good deals, like earning Bealls Bucks good for only certain future dates, so I just have to go back later and shop more. Then when I return, though there is no minimum purchase to use your bucks earned, I always end up buying more stuff I do not need. With the new renovations, there is even a Bealls Outlet right next door now, which I have not even be in because the regular store always has so many good deals that I am shopped out by the time I am done. read more

This store needs to learn what customer service is!!! Last year at the end of the winter season I bought a pair of Aerosoles boots. It had the Bealls price tag on the box for $70.00. I put them on this week and they just crumbled. I took them back and explained I didn't have the receipt from last year and that I thought I had gotten them at either on sale for either 30% or 40% off. You could clearly tell I had never worn them. I asked if they could do anything to help me since I had never worn them. The manager scanned them and said "No, they aren't in our system anymore". I asked could she give me anything. She said "there's nothing I can do if they aren't in the system." I told her you could clearly see they were from Bealls and that I had never worn them. Didn't matter. She wouldn't do anything. A friend was with me and suggested we go to Bealls Outlet and see if they would do anything. Fortunately for me, the District Manager, Carol, was there. She said 'absolutely, I can do something for you - you've never worn them'. She gave me a store credit and was as nice and helpful as could be. The whole staff was very friendly.
