I loved this store. Always had good deals and many options. Sadly, the chain is closed and does not exist anymore.

His is the first made-just-for-me article of clothing I've ever purchased and it will NOT be the last! My fashion style is ALL over the place and, recently, I have really been into African (inspired) fashion. When one of my bestest friends informed me she was getting married in Humboldt with a celebration into the evening and I learned that is a place where bugs and cold weather prevail (amongst the majestic beauty, of course), I went into "whatever will i wear?!?" mode - sista likes fashion AND comfort AND practicality. With Pinterest® pictures and a vision in mind, I paid this store a visit after having it bookmarked, having visited other African apparel shops, and after the accented voice on the end of this phone number told me it's best to come in for design ideas. Seth, my male version of Siri®, said I was at this location when I was at the corner of Crenshaw and Vernon. I think Seth was trying to tell me to turn in the driveway just east of Crenshaw, as if I am going to the shopping center on the northeast corner of the intersection, and drive past that parking lot to the back of 4343 (there's a sign) because there is no parking on Crenshaw in front of the shop and it's easy to miss the driveway off the busy famous boulevard. If you read my reviews, you know I'ma keep it real... the shop is a MESS! It needs a good pick up, Swiffer®ing, washing AND vacuum. The first time I arrived, I was looking around thinking, "How do they know where anything is?", as I saw stacks of eye-catching prints. I was glad I wore socks with my heels that day (ratchet!) because I needed a long dress to barely skim my Timberland® boots - I did NOT want my feet touching this floor! But then I saw a poster full of MJ's most iconic looks among the walls covered with sample clothing items and other posters. And then I saw the customer trying on her finished product and she looked like pure royalty! I got excited about this place... Mr. Abdhul is a very tall, soft-spoken, mature man with a great eye for detail. I showed him the photos of the foundation for the dress I wanted and explained the tweaks I desired (not so much boobies showing, color preferences, etc.) as well as the event for which this piece was being created. He eyed me once over (not in a creepy way), asked a couple of questions, and showed me color options in the exact same pattern in the picture once I told him I do not have the material. He recorded my measurements in a lined spiral notebook with numbers I could barely understand and without any reference of my name or my dress. He said he could grant my last minute and final request of including pockets. He told me the price (I can't remember what it was but it was VERY reasonable considering it was made for my specs), I gave him my cash (cash only establishment) and you know what? Despite my desire to try and control everything, I trusted him and left, confident that in one week I would have my first custom made dress. I returned the following week and he had me try on the "rough draft". It was surprisingly loose EVERYwhere and I panicked! I came out of the tiny dressing room and Mr. Abdhul told me to turn around (with my back to him). He tucked here and pinned there... asked me about the length and told me to take it off. I handed him the dress, he told me to take a seat, and he made the alterations right then and there in less than 15 minutes! I then adorned my body with the altered piece and strolled out of the little room cheesin'! That made Mr. Abdhul smile his sweet, shy lip-parter. Fast forward three months and sista decides she wants to look fly even though she has no plans for Labor Day. I'd been eyeing a jumpsuit on another social media site (gasp!) that I knew would be too small because of its origin. I decided to call Mr. Abdhul and I texted him a picture of what I was looking to have made. He said he did not have material to make it before suggesting some materials I could find to bring to him. I rushed to his store on a Monday with my linen options, wanting the outfit to be ready Friday early afternoon. I asked if he remembered me and he said he did but I wasn't so sure. After he studied the pictures I brought him, we discussed the color (he said I should go for the goldenrod but I played it safe with black), I paid him, and then I showed him the pictures I had of the dress he made me while apologizing that I didn't capture better images to display its splendor to post on his Yelp page. He (quietly) exclaimed, "Ah - yes!" as he smiled that precious smile again. He said, "Post them! Why not?" And that made ME smile! All of this is to say give this place a try. The quality is superb. The cost is more than worth it for a custom piece. The turnaround time is accommodating. And Mr. Abdhul is a talented visionary!

Not only did we sample wines, but the Sensei educated us on some of the technical aspects of winemaking, to include grape cultivation, and various marketing aspects of running a vineyard or winery. The venue, Cultural Interiors was a good setting for this event as well. Being surrounded by diverse treasures, curated home décor, artisanal teas, metaphysical tools and cultural literature truly enhanced this exploration of wine. A lot of the employees delivery and tone is very rude and seems that they are irritated. I over heard the security shouting at someone going to the dressing room in the front of the store that she was only allowed to have 5 items. Tone and delivery sets the tone for a good shopping experience. I was looking for an employee to ask about the restroom. I approached a male worker and asked if the restroom was open. He very rudely said "we cant stop right now we have money" as he was following a female employee to the front. For 1 , he could have simply told me then and there that the restroom was out of service and secondly , him announcing loudly for the entire store to hear that they had money on them defeats the purpose of him following the other employee for "protective purposes". As I never got a clear answer about the restrooms , I proceeded to the front to ask if I could use the restroom or not. He then was able to tell me they were closed. The security in the front also talks about how she's close to being off and how her clock out time is approaching. Unprofessional. It sucks that they have great stuff but have employees that couldn't care less about good customer service.
