Buyer beware. I chose a table at Berbere but there was some minor damage to one of the legs. They assured me it would be repaired before delivery. It wasn't. When I called them, they said no problem, accept delivery and they'll send someone out to address it. Now they're ghosting me and they will not address it or pick it up for return. I will never purchase from them again. read more

I used to hold Berbere Imports in such high regard that it gave me great pleasure to sing their praises and tell the world how happy I was (as in past tense with their products and customer service. Needless to say, their products are still great (THAT IS WHEN THEY DON'T BREAK) but their customer service sucks! I've had damaged goods from Berbere for six months now, and have been promised by Zaid that they would take care of it. Well it's always "tomorrow", but tomorrow just never seems to come. Be wary when buying from Berbere especially if you expect good follow-up post purchase. read more

It's impossible to shop at Berbere because of the limited business hours so I finally scheduled an appointment with Aron on Saturday September 28th at 10am (as long as I "brought him a bagel" which I went out of my way to get). I called & texted and waited outside for 30 minutes and no one ever showed up. So disappointing, unacceptable and reason to never step foot in there. read more

If you are looking for unique one of a kind, exotic furniture and accessories, Berbere is the place! It is huge, with an amazing selection. I'm a spa owner and when I was designing my business, I made a trip to Culver City from San Francisco to select all the furniture, marble foot sinks for the nail spa, handcrafted furniture and even the outdoor doors.The spa gets complimented all the time. Another plus, Zaid (like in Band-Aid) is so warm and inviting, while shopping with my architect on that trip, we did not rent a car since we took a cab from the airport . At lunch time, Zaid handed his car keys to us and told us where to find good food nearby. Wow, that's amazing service, and I am in the service industry. You feel like they are your friends when you finish. Zaids aunt is also very sweet is the the one that travels the world and buys, and she knows how to buy: all her purchases are designer quality. And no wonder, they are flocked by designers form LA all the time. So check it out and be amazed! read more

This is a fantastic store for all things Asian large and small. I found two exquisite pieces there today AND got a great deal. I am totally thrilled with my purchases. I shopped with Aaron. He was the best. He even got a ladder out and shuffled through the rafters above to hunt down a console table that I liked but that was sold. He brewed fresh coffee for my friend and I that was as good as a flavored latte at Coffee Bean. We were also offered the owners special tea from 3 countries. Prices ARE on most items by a code that is simple. When i asked they wrote it down for me so that I could figure out the prices myself. He gave me a decorators discount (25%) even though I am only doing my own home. Then i bargained down even more. I simply offered a price for two items and he accepted it. They are generous with their store policies. You may take items home on "memo" for 7 days and they just hold your credit card. If you do not return by day 7 they charge you for the piece. Makes it easy becasue you get to take things home to see if they will work in your space. Tommorrow i am going back for two more pieces. Love this place. THey also do custom work. You can pick any piece they have for instance and make a coffee table out of it. He is looking for a small Thai teak door for me as we speak. No sales pressure. No snobbery. This place is HUGE! Aisles upon aisles of asian inspired furniture. Zaid and his family go to India, China, etc and find vintage and antique pieces and retool them into modern furniture. The staff is super friendly, and I love their two dogs! They let us let our dog off-leash in the place and play around with the other dogs. Just a really fantastic store. The quality of the pieces are undeniable. We ended up buying a cabinet/credenza with antique Indian doors. Check it out! read more

I love my accessories and the custom made TV cabinet from Berbere. I had minor issues with the cabinet after delivery. Scott from Berbere would not quit until I was 100% satisfied. He sent out a team of people to do an in home repair and when they discovered the job would have been too messy on site, they arranged for a pick up and prompt return. After sale service is very important to me. I highly recommend Berbere - both for their wonderful selection of well priced merchandise and also for their excellent customer service. read more

This furniture store has some nice pieces. They are centrally located. The discerning factor is that they do not show the prices on any of their items, and we have gone in there at different times and received different prices on the same items. Perhaps the sales people are on commissions but it seems to be in poor taste and they are difficult to trust. On the one piece that we did purchase, we were overcharged and had to prove this to them after the charge came in. We will not be going back now after these experiences. Perhaps a look by the Better Business Bureau is in demand. read more

Berbere is a huge store with a great selection of Asian import items. The prices range from reasonable to very high, but you can generally find a bargain and they're willing to barter on price. There are several other Asian import stores in Culver City that sell identical products so make sure you shop around before committing on any large purchase. Also be sure to write down any prices quoted...as other Yelpers have mentioned there are no price tags in the store and prices quoted by various sales reps can vary dramatically. read more

Beautiful store with a lot of interesting pieces.... I purchased a stunning Indian carved door to use as a backdrop for my bed. The door needed some alterations in order for it to hang securely on my wall.... The staff here were all extremely accommodating. I am very happy with everything and I'm proud of having a unique looking piece in my home. I would highly recommend this store :) read more
