I am really hit and miss with this Big Lots. I suppose I have a like/dislike relationship with them, at best. Service is meh; lines are usually horrendous. I get it's the covid time and now it's the holidays too, but jeez. Don't come here when you're in a hurry. Plan to wait. I do like their variety of snacks, with some name brands, too. I love muchly their holiday set up too, especially all the Christmas trees they have set up in the back right-hand corner of the store. If you're looking to freshen your Christmas decor I would look here first, over the big box stores, just in price alone. I won't stop coming here because I love the quick variety of their stock, too. I can always seem to find a great deal or two here if I look hard enough. I love all the Big Lots it's just sad to me that Customer Service is a dying art. The staff here are great but the store needs to be cleaned and the wear and tear are evident from worn out light fixtures to peeling paint, I know it's a store that's meant to have cheap prices for items and such but i would think if you want to get people in, at least show some a bit of cleanliness sometimes often the front counters are understaffed leading to pile ups of what would be a short transaction into a 30 minute conversation with someone who didn't get the memo that you need to be aware, there are other people in line and they don't want to be waiting for you to take your sweet time in wasting theirs. read more

This Big Lots store is crammed with familiar stuff by slightly unfamiliar brands. Some big name brands in smaller sizes or older styles/flavors and generally cheap merchandise. So if you want something that's cheap price and probably cheap quality, this store may well have it. They had a good selection of home décor, some furniture, and groceries. I always like to look for discount snacks but this trip I didn't find anything I felt I had to have. I did get some toys that were on sale and was happy to get them for about $1 each so there's that. Staff was friendly. Store was clean enough. Location is super easy to find and lots of parking. read more

The Big Lots on Main is my favorite place to peruse! I have a list of staples that I always purchase (vinegar, coconut oil, paper goods etc) but I love the variety of unusual items. Snack foods and cereal are always a great buy as is milk. Just bought a bunch of 90% off Christmas decor... mostly ribbon and some wrapping paper. The staff is wonderful, I have never had a bad experience. They are quick to welcome you and ask if you found what you needed. Much better organized and stocked than either the Ventura or Camarillo stores... I shop them all! read more

The store had good stuff, as usual, and was relatively well kept. But the cashier was rude and dismissive to my mother.

My day started in North Hollywood, California at the Big lots. We were looking for a patio set. They were out. They told us that the Canoga Park, California store had them. We drove to Canoga Park and guess what? They didn't have them. We spoke to this employee in Canoga Park that made it his mission to find it for us. He finally found a store in Santa Paula, California that had what we were looking for. He spoke to an employee named Jose. Jose asked his manager Chris if they can hold the items for us. The policy of the company is not to hold anything for customers, however given the circumstance, he made a decision to hold the two patio sets that we wanted. We drove all the way to Santa Paula and found both Jose and Chris. They were extremely friendly, kind and apologetic for all that we had gone through. Chris, the manager rang up the order for us. He then instructed Jose to take the items out to our truck. They both assisted in putting four large sized boxes on the truck. Chris was gracious enough to tie all of the boxes together so the boxes wouldn't shift or fall during transport. I tried to tip him and he refused to take it saying it was his pleasure to help. Overall the customer service at the Santa Paula, Ca store was excellent. Thank you to Chris and Jose for being great. read more

As I walked in the smell of unwashed ass got to me but I still went in to see what they had. The store is small but full of great stuff. I was looking for some bedding for my child's bed but decided to go somewhere else. I had to leave after 10 to 15 minutes being there the smell was bad and I didn't want to buy something that will leave my car smelling like ass. Maybe next time will be much better and pleasant to be in. read more

Yesterday morning I walked in and was pleasantly greeted. I was assisted to the isle. During my shopping I had lost/dropped my credit card. OMG! I was rushing through through the isles n concerned. The staff asked me n so many words (what's going on). I told them my credit card is missing/lost n kept on walking. These ladies stopped everything to assist me. These /ANGELES i call them found it! I was so shocked n relieved. OMG! I am so thankful for Big Lots Staff! Thank you ladies! In today's society we rush (inc myself) everyone rushes n don't slow down.
