My wife and I seem to do a majority of our food shopping there. They do have some amazing values. The only point I would say is a lot of their packaged foods have short expiration dates - usually like 3-6 months. Therefore, if you do buy them there, make sure to put them in the front of your inventory. read more

What is with these new owners of the store. I have gone there since it opened and always was satisfied with the staff, music and products. Now it is over stocked, isles are crowded, and the music alone will drive you out of there. Can't understand it. Does not create a place where you want to shop. I've been coming here since they opened and I love the eclectic selection of items. However, since the Governor of our state has determined we can use decent bags to carry our groceries with, and while all of the other stores in town have switched to paper bags, this store, and maybe all of them, have decided to not offer any type of temporary bags at all. They will, however, sell you small fabric bags for a buck a piece! Obviously the state is to blame for the overall stupidity of the bag situation, but completely eliminating the cheaper options in order to score more profit really looks bad. read more

Had no idea what to expect other than I heard the prices were good on the Miyoko's products, so decided to check this place out. First up, the store is clean and orderly, that's a biggie! Prices are less than one would expect in a regular retail grocery, which also scores points. Plus....The folks working here are super duper helpful and kind! I was looking for sweet potatoes and the shelf was empty. One employee asked another and before I knew it, two organic 5 lb bags for 3.99 each were retrieved and handed to me. Score!!!! Ongoing problem with customer ID not being accepted or entered by the cashiers . Last year maybe 50% of times my number got through when I entered it on the tablet . Tonight even after entering it it did not go through and I asked the cashier to verify, to which she said yes it's okay . After getting home there was no customer ID number accepted on my receipt . Almost $100 spent . Are they really interested in the customer experience? Any of their competitors are quick to ask for the club card or telephone number while ringing up. If you don't know to put it in on the tablet or let the cashier know on time, you will never be asked and it will not get done. Not to mention having to return expired and spoiled food products three times this year only including tonight, right after ringing up the items. Not at all adequate customer service . My best experience is the savings I had for 50% of the time when my customer ID actually gets accepted. read more

Love Grocery Outlet in Camarillo! The owners are so nice and friendly as are all the employees. The store is clean and welcoming. Great deals on SO many items. Grocery Outlet have really great place for deals or bargains ( ha ha get it) The owners and the employees are amazing people. They have a wide selection of food/ snacks and drink. But every time i'm there this one teenager is there every single time. The downside to shopping there the expiration dates are close to expectatio. This is a great store to stop in and check for bargains. They carry close outs on name brand groceries. Not everything is a bargain, but if you know your prices you can get some incredible deals here. Make sure you check the expiration dates on anything you buy here, because often the merchandise is very close to expiration or even past expiration. Of course, this is when you can typically get the best deals of all. Just be careful, so you don't end up buying something that is inedible because it is spoiled. To Leslie and Chad Trask, I shop at the Las Posas store weekly and typically love the experience. Today was a HUGE exception. When I went to check out, Abigail, who hasn't the faintest clue how to greet a customer, began scrolling my food. However, when she got to the grapes, I said wait, I weighed those and this isn't correct. A man, who I ASSUME was a manger, (how sad) said, this scale is always right. I said oh ok, maybe you need to calibrate the one in produce then (trying to just make a nice suggestion). To which he YELLED, Get over it! I said, yeah, of course, it's not your money. I don't know his name but I was there, Monday June 20th at 6:50pm. They BOTH need a lesson in service and how to treat customers. Not to sure how soon or even IF I'll return. Good luck. Last month, I visited Grocery Outlet for the first time. The store was somewhat clean, but staff was generally unpleasant. I heard the manager gossiping with a cashier about having so many "crazy customers." I understand retail is difficult as I used to work in a grocery store myself as a teenager, however it is important to not bad mouth customers in the presence of a store. I still decided to give the store a chance due to the cheap deals. I bought some produce, which looked decent. I bought a variety of veggies such as lettuce, bean sprouts, and arugula. I made a salad to eat when I returned home, however approximately 24 hours later, I grew violently ill with diarrhea, fatigue and a low grade fever. I went to the hospital where a blood culture was taken and showed an E.COLI INFECTION! The doctors recommended avoiding discount grocery stores like Grocery Outlet due to the public health hazard they impose on our community. I tried to email the owners, Eric and Amy Sawyer, but no response at all despite it being one month. This gives me the impression that they are money hungry and do not care to address any issues with their staff or store products. Really disappointing! People at grocery outlet are friendly and kind. However, it's the middle of September and they already have ugly things out like ghosts and scary faces. So if you want to concentrate on the beautiful and fill your mind with the lovely, don't go into grocery outlet starting now and probably on into November. Some stores have an aisle for Halloween things so you can avoid it, but not grocery outlet. Death is right out in the open, greeting you as you walk in. if they change this, please let me know. I love to shop at Grocery Outlets, however you must be vigilant when shopping here. They often sell expired merchandise, to which I have reported it to their clerks. You must also review your receipt. I never review my receipt as I am a super busy shopper but last week I had a huge order. When I got home I noticed that the cartons of Pacific Organic Soup I purchased were $7.99 each!!!! They were "on sale" for $1.99 each. I must now return them and solicit my refund. So I decide to take my morning walk to this place. A mile and a half, one way. It's their grand opening and the first 200 people get a gift card for $5 - $200, plus a $3 off card and a chance to win groceries for a year. Sounds good, I'm early. Then I see the line snaking across the parking lot from over two blocks away. It's hopeless. A full house, I'm about 200 people from the door, and they're letting people in in batches. Met some nice folks in line while I waited an hour to check them out. People driving like lunatics trying to exit the parking lot, senior patrol not helping much. Finally entered to a resounding "meh..." No amazing discounts, peculiar store layout, no product sampling, corporate honchos grinning and slapping each other on the back out front, not "selling it" inside to prospective new customers. Didn't hear one "WOW, that's a great price!" Lines to the back wall. I wish them the best and I'll prolly return to check it out further without the crowds, but it seems nothing sticks here for long, and the claims of deep discounts fell short. Competition is good, and I really hope they make it, but to me, nothing distinguishes it that much from the next place. read more

Grocery Outlet is awesome, and fun to shop! The store is clean and tidy with tons of hidden surprises scattered throughout. The prices are low and some of the products are really quirky things I've never seen before, which personally I love. For some comparisons, 12 pack of La Croix is about the same cost as an 8 pack of the same at Target. Frozen chicken breasts, one option was the same cost as Trader Joes and another option was a dollar cheaper. There is a surprising amount of non dairy food available, for example Kite Hill almond milk yogurts for 89 cents. Those are usually well over a dollar each anywhere else! Hope they keep them in stock but I'll buy 'em while I can anyway. If low-cost grocery stores have been off-putting to you in the past because the employees are surly and the product is thrashed, give this one a try. The employees are nice and the store is well kept. They don't have every single thing or exact item you might be searching for, but Grocery Outlet is now my first stop for the bulk of grocery shopping, and so far I've been really happy with my experiences there! read more

When a cashier sees long lines, they quickly call to see if someone is available to open another line. I love grocery outlet! I read the reviews and chuckle a little bit, because where I'm from it's been a thing my entire life. We move often with the military, so it's always nice to see familiar stores come to town. I said yes but I needed flour but it's ok. He said 'just tell me what you need and I'll check'. He came back with a bag of flour that hadn't been stocked yet and I was super thankful! We stopped by Grocery Outlet on our way home. The staff is terrific and always helpful when finding product on the floor. But this same day, there was an incident that bothered us as customers and made the experience unnerving. A customer came into the store without a shirt and proceeded to direct the staff that since there wasn't a sign at the front door claiming shirts were "not required," he was within his rights to stomp around the store shirtless. The staff were courteous to this young man about putting a shirt on and he continued to be belligerent to them both in a cavalier act of pompous disregard. Finally, the young man left and I commented to the personnel that they handled the situation very well. To our surprise, it was not the first time the same patron entered shirtless and, get this, he is the Store Manager's son! We could not believe that the store manager (Deanna) would shamelessly afford a different set of rules for patrons that are family and the rest of us. We want to thank the staff that day, especially Juno and Paul, for handling an uncomfortable situation with class and defusing a potential volatile event. The franchise owners, who also own the Ventura location, really need to sit down with their Camarillo store manager and review store etiquette policy. read more

I walked in sorta late expecting nobody to approach me since it was near closing time. But wow I was surprised to find the closing manager who I think was named Kathryn or Catherine idk how she spells it but she was definitely manager material, greeted me right when I walked in and pointed me in the right direction and made great conversation when I checked out, awesome to see a young person take their position and customer service so seriously. I only came in for ice cream but ended up getting other groceries because the prices were so just good. The place is a bit small but I was surprised by how neat everything was and how kind the workers are. If you are grocery shopping I'd definitely recommend this being your first stop. read more
