Our experience with Big Man Movers is definitely a unique one! Six years ago in May of 2020 my realtor highly recommended Big Man Movers. Wesley, the owner and his crew moved the contents of our home into two storage units in Orlando where we thought we would only rent for a couple of months. Life in 2020 had different plans for us like it did for so many people. Six years later we finally moved our stuff out of storage to be near our new grandson. During the past six years Wesley managed our storage unit, and every year he checked in with us on multiple occasions just to see how things were going. He basically became friends with my husband and I, and we now enjoy the esteemed privilege of being his second longest customer! one week ago Big Man Movers packed up our stuff once again. The crew was very timely, friendly, and hard working! Before we left Orlando when everything was on the truck, we decided it would only be appropriate to have a photo op with Wesley! On the other end of our move several states away, Matt, the moving manager was early and ready with his crew to finally complete our "adventure"! I used these guys 2!weeks ago and they came recommended. Anyway I told the guy who took my order Andrew o had 6 big pieces to move and I had friends coming over to help with boxes. They never showed so 2 guys had to do it. I called Big Man back and explained what happen, he said no problem they're there to work for you. Meanwhile I heard the guys talking and one guy said so well Make more they'll pro rate the price. At the end of the move I had 12-15 scratches on my table, I said to the guy you're know going to blanket that just shrink wrap? He said no worries that was the end result scratches on my oak table. 2nd I opened up my computer on Sunday and my screen was cracked, computer done! Now I'll partially take blame for that, I should have taken my computer. 3rd a few days ago my lamp is broke, this is not an expensive lamp but my fiancé who passed away brought that for me a few days before she passed. Had a lot of sentimental value. I sent Andrew a pic of my computer, and a voicemail about the lamp still nothing. He took $50 off of the $1,385 bill which were the taxes. Thats my experience with Big Man Movers... You make the call if you decide to look for movers... All the Best, and Die Your due Diligence when it comes to movers. My second time using them... they are great! We had matt, Sean and Brady and they were super nice and respectful. They were very careful not to bang the walls in the new house. They worked very efficiently. They asked if it was ok to park in the new driveway. They asked if we wanted to pause when the rain started. i'll give Big Man a generous two for our moving experience, only because they did perform the basic function of removing our household goods from our old house, storing them until our new house was ready and delivering them when we closed on the new property. we had high expectations as we had met the owner Wesley at the Orlando home show. Unfortunately our experience was pretty ugly and disappointing. The move out was fine and that crew was very efficient, But I don't know what happened in storage and during the transfer of the goods but everything showed up at our new house smashed, damaged and even some water damage along with a couple missing items. Everything was taken apart at the old house was supposed to be put back together in the new house that did not happen. A lot of things were wrapped in industrial plastic wrap and I had to cut that off myself. The crew was under manned and seem to be in a hurry to leave. When I reached out to Wesley about our concerns, he and his operations manager brow beat me to pay them before we even unpacked everything to see the extent of the damages. Not sure how mattresses got wet and furniture sucked up water when it was supposed to be stored in a climate controlled warehouse, but it happened. After being threatened with arrest for theft of services and a lawsuit, I paid Wesley what we agreed to so he would stop calling me. he did contract with a mattress cleaning company and a furniture repair company to try to addressed the damages, but that was only a Band-Aid on a bullet wound. and I think we can all agree that something that is damaged and repaired is not the same as having your things delivered in the condition they were in when they left your house. hiring a mover is a challenging exercise and we thought we had done our homework, unfortunately we made a bad choice and I cannot recommend Big Man movers to anyone considering working with this company. Sorry to say after this horrific experience, I wouldn't ask them to move my trash can from the garage to the curb. read more

They placed a floor runner to protect the wood floors, the crew were very respectful, all of my furniture was protected, and overall it went very smoothly. Terrible service and terrible prices. The problem is Westley Rigwell who is a bit off the chart. They loaded most of the contents of the storage area and he called to say the price was going up $1000 when I tried to discuss it with him he started yelling at me. I was actually afraid of him. The movers stopped in South Carolina to offload stuff that was in our container after they told me they could not loan any more stuff because of weight and they broke several items. I don't usually write negative reviews but this company really cannot be trusted. We hired them to move the contents of a POD in to our new home. The owner of the company, Wesley, and I agreed to two men for two hours. When the time came, the movers arrived. There were three, rather than two. The men that arrived, in discussion, mentioned they were all new and had only been on the job for less than a month which was worrying-I would have thought some sort of supervision from someone experienced would be present but we hoped they knew what they were doing. Within a half hour we noticed they were dragging dolly's, without any sort of protection, against our hardwood floor. Looking at the boxes they put down already in the living room, we saw plenty of scrapes and scratches. We called the owner and expected him to come by to inspect, but he didn't, he just mentioned he would have his wood guy come look at it. At the end of the job, the owner did try to charge us for 3 guys for 2 hours, rather than the agreed upon 2. I had to call him and complain for him to go back to the agreed upon rate. During our conversations, he never had me sign a contract or agreement of any kind. After two weeks and a half weeks without any contact from him or his wood guy, we messaged him after having an estimate done. He immediately became aggressive and insistent on using his guy-he claimed we would have to pay a deductible to go through insurance. His guys would be much much cheaper, supposedly. After speaking to our lawyer, it was suggested that we use the company of our choice and file a claim with his insurance: the repair would be insured and would be up to standard quality. After expressing my concerns to Wesley, he began to threaten me with court, saying we would get nothing if we filed a claim as it would be denied, and went as far as calling me "tough guy" for not acquiescing to what he demands. The professionalism was dropped immediately. I'd steer clear of this company. We will end up filing with his insurance, and it is disappointed that the moment we didn't do exactly what he wanted he began the stereotypical contractor bullying. read more

Where do I begin? This company hits ALL marks and then some. First of all , if you are looking for a legit moving company you MUST look for a company that is a Certified Moving Company that is licensed and insured with a DOT Number and be registered with the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration). This company is!! Now lets talk about my experience. From the start I was greeted via email and phone to get me started and asked if I had any questions. Next you are guided step by step what is expected and talk about your amount of items you have. You will be sent a link for an inventory list which you can add or subtract items anytime of the day. You will be given a "binding" estimate which is very important. A binding estimate or quote states that there will be no additional fees tacked on once the movers arrive at your location unless you add items at the last minute. Then off course adjusted accordingly. Once that is set I was be contacted by Wesley. Now Wesley is a high spirited "Go Getter" and he knows how to get the job done. I LOVE his energy. He is the one that was in charge of the guys that picked up and delivered my items. Once he arrived at my house with the movers everything went smooth as glass. All the right questions were asked from his men and they started the job right away! They had predicted a 4 hour job to get me packed up on the truck however they completed the loading in 2 hours with no damaging my items or boxes. They even catered to a box that included last minute items. I was greeted and approached with the highest respect with all the men. Now when delivered the mover by the name of "Ross" was AMAZING!! He is kind and respectful and ask where you would like the items placed. He works with the needs of the customer at their location. I would highly suggest to ask for ROSS. He is truly a great ASSET to the company!! He went ABOVE AND BEYOND with customer service! Even when he delivered my Uhaul storage items and it was closed he patiently waited until I could get ahold of someone from Uhaul. Believe me it was a long while. He kept his kind and helpful nature the whole time. - Great job Ross! The payment procedure was 1/2 at the loading and the 2nd half was not paid until the last item was at the secure place the customer set up to be located. In conclusion this company does not deserve a 5 star rating ...... They deserve a "10" !! Everything ran smooth and quickly! Takes a lot of stress out of moving. Don't waste your time with this company- I am very sorry that I trusted them with this move. 1) We arranged for a move on a specific date - based on our need, received confirmation of the date and an arrival time (9 am). 2) No one arrived, no call, no text or communication of any kind until almost 2 hours after the expected arrival time. 3) No one answered the phone at the office (website and confirmation said call any time between 8 am and 8 pm). 4) When someone finally called me back after I left 7 messages and emailed them, they asked if we could change to another date. I said no, I have a deadline for moving out. They said they would try to get a crew later in the day and get back to me. 5) By 1:30 pm, when I called again, they said they were having trouble finding a crew. I asked if they could at least move our bed, washer and dryer because they had left us in a lurch today and these are items I need to be able to sleep at the new home. They said yes. 6) Then, at 3:30 pm, I called to see if they had a time to arrive and they asked me again what needed to be moved. Long story short, they never came, didn't communicate and we had to scramble to figure out a plan B. I went with them because they said they served veterans (which I am) and their cost was slightly better than a competitor- I was left high and dry with no help and am stuck paying someone else to do it, and penalties for not moving out on time. The entire staff at Big Man Movers were extremely helpful, courteous, and trust worthy. They never tried to up charge or make me pay for any other fees then what were initially disclosed to me. Big Man Movers has been the most professional and hard-working moving company I've ever used. They made what could've been an extremely stressful time moving across country on such short notice, as smooth for me as humanly possible. This was the worst experience ever. Big Man Movers took an already stressful time and turned it into a nightmare. I followed every single thing they instructed me to do for my move, from purchasing moving blankets to the size and type of boxes required to pack my belongings. The crew ended up leaving the job with furniture still needing to be moved, forcing me to rent a U-haul truck to finish. It was only myself and my daughter (my husband recently passed away). With leaving the job unfinished, we managed to completely move the remainder out by 2am! Not only was this unprofessional, but downright pathetic to leave two ladies stranded in the dark. In addition and after I followed their instructions for packing, they still damaged several pieces of my furniture to which they claim no responsibility whatsoever. I have had the worst experience with this company. First they miscommunicated with me about when they were going to arrive. Then when they arrived and I did a walk through I was told that the packing and the move would be done by 2pm on Saturday. They didn't finish the move until Monday and they have destroyed multiple pieces of furniture. Then to top it off they couldn't figure out how to move my sleeper couch and they destroyed the couch, the walls, and the door jam. They took it to someone to repair the damage and brought it back to my house only to show me that nothing had been repaired. They attempted to put the couch in the house and they didn't know how to put it back together. The owner assured me that someone would come to my home to both put it back together and repair it. When I called after being an hour later, I was told that they would come a different day. I then got into an argument with the owner who repeatedly told me to sue him (which he also texted) and so I am. These guys know how to move! I was nervous going long distance. It was more than I wanted to spend, but it was worth it! Not a single scratch or broken glass! I would have given these guys 5 stars until the last minute when things went sour. The move was complete and the mover told me my shelf had broken during the move. He was going to replace it and drop it off a few days later while also coming back with tools to attach my mirror to my bedroom drawers. The mover never showed up at the time he told me he would and when I tried to contact him, he never replied. I called Big Man Movers to try and see if they could help me. I had to leave a message because they never answer their phone. I got a call back a few days later. After explaining what happened, the man on the phone asked me if my stuff had made it to its destination or not. When I said yes, he said okay and then hung up on me. Incredibly rude... Everything was fine up until this point. I'm really glad nothing important broke during the move and that nothing bad happened because if it had, I doubt the company would have bothered helping me. I mean, don't say you're going to come back and finish the job if you aren't going to. So unprofessional. I wouldn't use these guys again, they messed up. Only use these guys if you're okay with things breaking and not being replaced and if you're okay with things not being assembled. read more

The more were early , we gave instructions on what had to be done the time frame that we were hoping for 2 they got things done with ridiculous speed and dexterity , wrapped all of our stuff carefully and worked quietly 3 . This has been a moving nightmare!!! We hired Big Man Movers to move 1/2 mile away. We've had more damage from Wesley and his crew than you could ever imagine. It was raining the day we moved; antiques were treated like footballs, no respect for their values and our furniture and belongings paid the price without a doubt. Pictures were knocked off walls and broken as they were loading furniture, antiques never wrapped just dropped, broke and never said a word. One piece of furniture was padded, wrapped in shrink wrap and it made the move safely. Upon arrival it was a different story! They unwrapped the shrink wrap and padding and the next thing I know I see it stacked up with other furniture on top of it. The sides were skinned up and the top had a large gash from sitting everything on top with no protection. I had an antique game table that was ruined by exposing it directly to the pouring rain with zero padding or shrink wrap. The inlaid wood lifted and has several nicks on it as well. It was like having a football team on steroids inside of a China shop. We were given info on their insurance company and haven't yet received a return call. Paula the Coordinator's phone was disconnected. As I sit here and look at all the damages - antiques, pieces of artwork destroyed, pictures busted up and ruined due to rain exposure. It makes me sick to my stomach knowing we paid them in good faith and we have been treating so poorly regarding our claim. The owner has videos of him being the largest toll fine violator in the State of Florida. Amazing!!! And what a joke!!! read more

We were blown away by the team & their great customer service while helping us move; when I walked in the house after work, they stopped what they were doing to introduce themselves to me and went the extra mile. We had to be packed up on a Thursday night then close on 2 houses Friday then unpack the truck at the new house Friday afternoon; they were very helpful & accommodating during the entire stressful process. Raheem (the team lead) was beyond awesome & very very nice, he did a great job leading the team & ensuring they were staying on pace, working quickly but also ensuring things were left exactly where we wanted them and nothing was damaged. Not a single dish was chipped/broken, they wrapped everything that was going in the truck (beds, couches, TV, EVERYTHING). Awesome moving company & we would certainly use them again. read more

Big Man Movers was the low bidder, and a great salesman, but certainly not worth the savings. His loading crew showed up in their own cars at 9 a.m. on moving day 8/30/18. They are regular day laborers and not employees of Wesley's. We contracted for two moving trucks, 1 showed up at 11:30, and Wesley showed up at 6:30 that evening, pulling a trailer on his pickup. I had furniture go into storage for a week, and Wesley did not have his own storage as he told us he did. On moving in day 9/5/18 He had only 2 men unloading the storage unit which took from 9:00am until late afternoon. Our office furniture was damaged as well as our piano. He sent two repair man, and the first fixed part of the piano, and then quit working with Wes. The second repair man went to get the needed parts and was fired while he was out. Stay away from this company, he lives in his own world of reality and thinks he is a business person. The only time you will see Wes is after everything is loaded for show and then at the end to get his check. Just lies. Barry H. read more

I hired them to do 1 job that had 2 components: help relocate 70% of my belongings to a local self-storage unit, and 30% to an apartment in another state. The pluses: - I quoted with 2 or 3 other companies, but their price was unbeatable - They're flexible... and I negotiated directly with owner - No major damages, except 1 or 2 minor broken pieces (not worth making claims about) The minuses: - Very disorganized... this is their biggest problem! On the day of the move they did not have enough people for the truck loading, and/or swapped people in and out with other jobs, and/or the people they had were not strong enough (one guy was old and did not have the strength to carry heavy items without having to make frequent stops to catch his breath... I thought he was going to pass out at some point). And they took A LOT longer than originally promised to complete the job... they were supposed to be done by evening, but did not finish until 11pm (and I had an early flight the next morning... with wife and new-born baby). Also, at the delivery to the apartment in another state, they had 1 guy doing all the work (the guy who drove the truck), so I and some neighbors had to help the poor guy - Because we had 2 destinations, the local storage unit and an apartment in another state (as mentioned above), we had 2 piles of belongings, one for each destination... but they mixed some of it up... some boxes we expected in the apartment never made it up... so we ended up having to buy new stuff to replace what did not make it up there... this was not major stuff, but it reinforces their lack of organization in logistics - Hard to reach them prior to the move itself... exchanged many emails and phone tags without actually being able to talk to owner or assistant... they almost never answer calls and in most cases don't respond on the same day - I guess this may be the small company syndrome, where everyone does everything So overall I recommend them, although I probably won't be using them again. read more

Wesley, the owner, and his Staff were Excellent!! They were Above & Beyond my expectations! Best Moving Company! I was referred to them after My Guys Moving of Orlando cancelled me 3 days B4 move & said They Have Right 2 Cancel ANYONE 4 ANY REASON & they DID SO 4 NO Reason!
