So my 22 year old son bought himself his first big adult purchase. About 80% on his own. He found the used Harley he was looking for on the website and worked with Jeff to arrange a meeting. Big Moose is 2 hours from Hermon, but they had the bike he wanted to look at. He just got his endorsement from Central Maine Harley and we so wished we could have made a purchase there to put his class towards a purchase, but alas it was not meant to be. Big Moose had the bike. Mark was his salesman on site and was great. They knew his endorsement was so fresh the ink had not dried on the paperwork. They had him drive a few laps around the lot and then took him out on the ride. They even put him on another bike. Mark rode with him down the road and to a big lot where he could really work the bike. Aidan stepped in to be the finisher and was fair and took a bit of back and forth but we settled on an offer. So you would think a dealer called "Big Moose" would have t-shirts with Moose's on them but they were sold out! They said that because it was so late in the season (Aug/Sep) that they didn't order more until next year but apparently everyone riding through Maine gets one of their shirts. I was disappointed since I had planned on getting my kids Moose shirts from Maine. Their poker chips made up for it, a Moose on one side and a lobster on the other, perfect! Each chip is $4 which is higher than average and about $4.22 with tax. The dealership is very nice and clean but also very small. It's been modernized so it has all of the new HD dealer standard look to it, no character except for the big moose on the wall wearing a hat. I had the parts department look up a part for me that they didn't have and were able to locate it at another dealership since we were on a trip so we could get it on our way....we would not be coming back this way. Parts staff as well as motor clothes staff were super helpful. They have a small HOG lounge area at the front of the store. Sales staff were friendly and not pushy. It's a bit off the beaten path to get here but worth the stop if you need a break. Bad cell reception inside but they have the public wifi password posted throughout the store. read more

The sales people are highly deceptive and dishonest. I would not recommend buying a motorcycle here. I noticed damage all over a basically new used bike a few days after I got it home. Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything about it because they waived their "mandatory" bike inspection that they apparently perform on all motorcycles before they leave the lot (the inspections aren't free). They acted like they were doing me a huge favor when in reality, they were tricking me into signing away my right to do anything about it when I found the damage. I had even asked about the clutch lever because it seemed like it might have been bent and they assured me that it wasn't. I honestly feel like a moron for not checking the bike over more carefully. Fortunately, it was mostly stuff I wanted to replace anyway. It's just frustrating when people take advantage of you, which is exactly what happened here. They even said, "Welcome to the family!" before I drove away. Horrible people. read more

Stopped in at "Big Moose Harley-Davidson" for a visit. What a great name for a H-D dealership! I love the fact that they have Moose and other wildlife liberally sprinkled throughout the dealership! Adds a nice, north woods ambiance to the place! They have an extensive selection of Motorcycles, as well as clothing, boots, helmets, accessories, and more! I found a few H-D shirts that I wanted, plus picked up the dealership poker chip! Staff was very nice! Make a point to stop in if you are in the area! read more

Bought my brand new Street Bob from Dan in November of 2016. They gave me a deal that nobody could touch. I called the other dealer that's north of Portland and they wanted to sell me the same exact bike, minus the abs and security that the one at Big Moose had for more money$ The sales manager said I don't know how they are giving you that price but I can't touch it. So that sealed the deal. The entire sales staff was great to deal with. I was working 6 days a week so we did most of the deal via email and I only went in to sign. Took my 2002 trike in because of a strange noise it was making. After $1700 they said 5th gear was screwed up and they fixed it. On the way home the noise was still there, and I discovered that suddenly my reverse was no longer functional. Took it back. They said they torgued it wrong. 3 weeks later they gave it back. Took it home, still making that noise, and when I put it in reverse it clanked loudly and reverse hasn't worked since. I gave one star because the staff was friendly. They just aren't capable of fixing my bike - just charging me for screwing it up. Will try LA Harley. Maybe they will know how to fix my bike read more

No qualified mechanics.. I rode my 2008 Ultra Classic 110 CVO in to get it looked at for a slight squeak and miss in the engine. After a very short 15 min. inspection I was told I needed a new engine. The price estimate for the new engine was between $7,000 and $11,000. I decided to get a trade in value and check pricing on a new CVO. I was told that my motorcycle was nothing they really wanted. "Just a shinny boat anchor". I took the motorcycle home and removed the engine myself. I took the engine to a local engine builder and he determined it was only one bad hydraulic lifter. No need to pull engine, oh well. So after 22 hrs labor and 500 bucks it was all back together. I've put a couple thousand miles on it with no issues. I never got an apology either. The staff went above and beyond in all areas to assist me, and believe me it will never be forgotten. Jeff M. was a great salesman. He made sure everything was answered, was there through the sale and after the fact to make sure everything was 100%. And yes, Keith L. is the man!!! I couldn't have asked for a better sales manager. When I met Keith several years ago he formed a friendship with me and is one reason why we have traveled past two closer dealerships to buy a bike at Big Moose. Working with Arynne in finance was excellent. Its awesome working with someone in finance who is out for the customer and has a great smile and makes you feel at home. Both Blake and Brandon in parts spent countless hours with me answering questions and assisting me to make sure I ordered and received the correct accessories I wanted. I felt both went the extra mile to set me up. Jesse in service made me feel comfortable and I felt he cared about my bike like it was his own. There are very few mechanics now a days that put their heart into the work and make sure everything is 100% for the customer. Although I purchased my 2014 Road King from Rochester Harley-Davidson and have my scheduled maintenance at their sister dealership Seacoast Harley due to a maintenance agreement I purchased with the bike, I get most of my unscheduled maintenance at Big Moose Harley. Big Moose is able to schedule me with short notice, and they are gentle with my bike. The service manager Mark is a scheduling genius. The service is a little more personalized than Seacoast and I trust Big Moose. Now that they will be moving to a new location, I suppose the service will only be even better. read more

Dropped by for a quick inspection sticker. Guy at the service counter assures no more than 15-20 minutes. An hour later and my bike hasn't moved. Nobody lets me know or apologizes. Nothing. In the meantime the service writer is waiting on a guy in the parking lot who just pulled in. I've tried to give BM every shot but they are simply awful. They're one of those places subsisting on tents and hot dogs for the masses who don't know better. If you expect anything more than a tacky t shirt and wholly incompetent service keep looking. This is nothing but an over bloated carnival attraction. All hat, no cattle. read more
