Pete and Adam helped me reach a conclusion that it most likely wouldn't be worth sinking a large amount of money into a 10 year old car that would really be a bandaid instead of a long term fix. I had the absolute worst car repair experience of my life at the Portland St.Auto &Body this past…read moreweek. My auto ran over a chunk of metal on Route 95 N near Exit 48 . It caused a flat tire immediately. AAA was called and they came and removed the flat tire and put on our spare. We then drove the car slowly to the Portland St. Auto in Bridgton and when we arrived showed them the damaged tire, rim and hubcap and described how it was caused .by running over a metal object on the highway. We asked them to repair the damages. A week later on August 6 , they said our car had been repaired for $268. We then used the car sparingly until 8/31 when we noticed that the steel belts on the replacement tire were exposed through the rubber of the tire. This was very troublesome because it meant the "repairs" to our car had lasted only 3 weeks. Also, seeing the condition of our tires it also meant we were in danger of a tire suddenly coming apart putting me and my family in danger of being in an accident. We brought the car back to Portland St. Auto immediately and asked them to fix the damages which were supposed to be fixed back on 8/6. They said that would cost $603. for a new lower arm/ball joint replacement,new tires and alignment. I spoke to the business owner,Dale about my disapointment with their work and he said that I never told them the repairs they did on 8/6 required a new lower arm replacement. I asked him why didn't they look at the under carriage of my car for damage after I had brought it to them for repairs. He refused to accept any accountability for their obvious oversight and lack of attention to detail. So my advice to any potential customers is to be very cautious about dealing with this company which lacks accountability for their work.

A year later and I can't even get them to answer when they can do it. The paint is peeling off and looks terrible and would have liked to have had it done by now. Busy is one thing but continuously just ignoring people is just plain rude. If you want something done here you better be prepared to wait forever.
