Big Mozz I ate at their food truck on Randall's Island during Pokemon Go Fest. They had two options, mozz nuggets or mozz sticks. I chose nuggets but they were basically the same thing. I didn't have to wait at all once ordering, just paid and they had my food ready. Normally these places are stingy with the sauce, but the amount they gave me was more than enough for the portion size. But then again, it was $12 for 4 mozz sticks or ~12 nuggets. Grossness warning ahead - I am lactose sensitive and let's just say these mozzarella nuggets did not sit well with me. Make of that what you will, but at least that means their mozzarella is quality read more

Got to finally try these at smorgasburg! A little pricey for $11. You only get four sticks and they aren't that huge. Maybe half an inch bigger than a regular one. Also the mozzarella wasn't anything special like I was expecting. It's a good mozzarella stick but not better than average. Marinara was good tho! read more

When you hear a particular restaurant is famous for their mozzarella sticks, you just make a reason to travel up to NYC to check it out. I'm not saying this place was the only reason we wanted to visit NYC, but it was definitely in our top 5 :) We visited the store in Chelsea Market and eventually found them. We ordered 1 1/2 orders of mozzarella sticks (a group of 5 people) and 2 orders of waffle fries. Now, don't get me wrong, the mozzarella sticks were far and away the best we have ever had, but the waffle fries took us by surprise as being amazing, too! The best part, other than the feeding frenzy was sitting at the counter and watching them make fresh mozzarella in a meticulously clean manner. I'm a nurse and the woman's clean glove technique made me want to salute her. read more

Finally got to try this place at Smorgasburg Prospect Park! They were the very first vendor we stopped at. The mozz sticks were great--crazy cheese pull and super crunchy. Staff was friendly and the wait time was relatively short. read more

Went to their booth at the Bryant Park Holiday Shops. Excellent mozzarella sticks freshly fried to order. The breading on the outside was nicely seasoned and wasn't too thick. They were fried pretty perfectly so it was crispy without feeling greasy. The cheese instead was appropriately melty. For $10 though, it was a pretty small portion. It did come with marinara sauce to dip the mozzarella sticks into, but it still felt like a bit much to pay $10 for four mozzarella sticks. Four for $6 and eight for $10 would have been much easier to stomach. Price aside, the mozzarella sticks were one of the best things we ate at the Bryant Park shops. read more

After eating at three+ places at Smorgasburg's Winter Market in Atlantic Terminal, I hesitated when I came to Big Mozz because 1) I was already a little full and unsure if I should get anything else, and 2) "all mozzarella sticks are basically the same, right?" I will never live down that terrible lie now that I've had Big Mozz. It's $10 for four mozzarella sticks with marinara, which is pricey, but I'm not mad about it after I tasted them. I have truly never had anything like it and when I say it was life changing, I mean it. They are fried perfectly. Crispy and flavorful because they add seasoning and Parmesan over the breaded part... an amazing addition. And there is so. much. cheese. They don't skimp like lots of places do, so that alone makes these stand out. Plus, their partnership with Cookie Do to make the fried cookie dough bites.... I've had these twice now and will never get over them. It's $10 for 6 cookie dough balls, and again it's a little pricey, but they are so insanely good. Go here. Get anything and everything. Fried cookie dough bites were very rich and slightly heavy. One is enough. Lemonade tastes like bottled lemon juice you get at the supermarket poured over ice. I didn't have the mozzarella sticks... The mozarella sticks were good, but they were nothing special and they were way overpriced. They look delicious and the appeal is that they are larger sticks than your typical mozzarella sticks, but they were overrated. I got mine at Electric Zoo festival, so they might be different than the ones at the actual shop, but I still think they were not worth it. read more

This is it! Hands down one of the best mozzarella sticks I have ever had, the other being Cosa Buona's version. These are not your run of the mill 60 pack from Costco variety (which are still delicious). These sticks are made with high quality ingredients and you can definitely taste it, also the breading holds up extremely well, whereas lesser sticks fall apart easily. Are these overpriced? Sure, but for an occasional snack splurge, they are definitely worth it. Are these gimmicky? Maybe, but one thing I do know is that they offer 1 (or 2 if you count the fried dough) product, and do it extremely well. I would rather have a shop who specializes and executes on their lone signature product than some restaurant that does a ton of things in a mediocre manner. read more

Big Mozz is one of the stands I usually go to at Smorgasburg. They must be the most expensive mozzarella sticks ever. $10 for only 4 sticks, granted they are very large and cheesy. I guess I can't complain since everything at Smorgasburg is expensive and I will gladly pay however much for my beloved mozzarella sticks. I tried Big Mozz first at Smorgasburg in Propsect Park and then at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. Thank god they got rid of their pesto sauce and replaced it with marinara like how it's supposed to be. The sticks themselves were crispy on the outside, but super cheesy on the inside and had that delicious pull of cheese that makes me love mozzarella sticks. I got a four pack of mozzarella sticks and this is what I thought. First thought was, these are some big mozzarella sticks and I'm cool with this. Second thought was should I eat this right now or should I let it cool down for a couple seconds. I just dug in after my second thought and enjoyed this delicious mozzarella stick. Maybe I should've let it cool down for a couple seconds because it was ridiculously hot. The marinara sauce was fantastic as well. To be honest with you though this was a lot of mozzarella sticks to handle solo. Very enjoyable though. read more

Dear Cheese Gods, Mmmmmm. Mozzarella sticks. It's hard to mess up some mozz sticks, but let me tell ya... these guys are doing it right (insert drooling emoji here). I visited there stand at the Smorgasburg in Prospect Park and just got a single order of mozzarella sticks to split between three friends, because they aren't lying when they say they are huge. I would have loved to give them 5 stars, because the workers were polite, timely, sanitary... etc, BUT I believe that when you charge for extra sauce, you should give plentiful sauce per capita if that makes any sense. I can explain a little further, you see when you are selling humongous cheese sticks, you should give enough marinara sauce, for the cheese sticks, not for one or two of them, (it comes with four), but when you charge, not 50 cents, not one dollar, but TWO hole doll hairs, you expect there to be enough to begin with. Maybe I'm crazy for going on about two dollars, but it seems a little pricey for what you get, or should I say, what you don't get lol. I'll go back, they do fried cheese like no other. Big Mozz has a stand at the Bryant Park holiday market. Against my better judgment I decided to get the fried cookie dough, with two balls each of three flavors from Do (chocolate chip, cake batter, and brownie batter). First, it's nothing to look at. (Their mozzarella sticks looked pretty ugly, too). Next, it was stupid way too sweet. I have eaten Do cookie dough before and enjoyed it, but this was sickly. Next, the texture was unusual. The dough gets really liquified, like cake batter. So it should be more advertised as cake batter than cookies. read more

We passed by this place on the way to our bus station and stopped because my friend had seen this place on instagram alot! The cheese was super stringy and stretchy. The outside crunch of the actual cheesestick was really good and crispy too! The marinara sauce was a perfect pair to the cheesestick. It brought me back to my childhood days since I love cheese! If you are in the Brooklyn area on Saturday you gotta check out Smorgasburg, specifically Big Mozz and Cookie Do who are right next to each other. They are fried food deliciousness. The Big Mozz have the best mozzarella sticks EVER!! And the Cookie Do balls were the perfect dessert. My favorite of the three flavors was their signature chocolate chip and the location is fantastic with a great view of the city across the East River. read more

Big mozz are the perfect side for any sandwich at smoargasborg. These huge mozzarella sticks have a thick and well seasoning batter than gets deep fried so that it comes out super crispy. Make sure to eat them fast before the cheese cools down. It comes with a herby and plump marinara sauce which is excellent compliment. read more

The mozzarella bites are better than you'd expect. The pepperocIni really add a nicEE kick of sPice. Wish they were bigger. It's kind of like toast tinos pizza rolls (but better) minus the pepperoni so you can eat it if you don't eat pork. Next time we'll get the big mozzarella sticks read more

First of all I love Mozzarella stocks so I was really excited when foind Big Mozz at Smorgasburg. Obviously the line was long but it wasn't too bad. Price wise it was expensive at $10 but relatively ok compared to other things at Smorgasburg. Taste wise, it was delicious, perfect seasoning, just the right texture and just the right bite. This review is for the Big Mozz stand at the 2016 San Gennaro festival in Little Italy. Holy smokes. Hands down the best mozzarella sticks I've ever had. From the first bite it's evident that quality cheese is used. The mozzarella sticks themselves are HUGE so you'll definitely want to share. They are $10 for an order of 4 but the flavor justifies the price. Friendly and fun guys were working the stand the night I visited. I'm going to be on the lookout for Big Mozz at other festivals/street fairs and hope to try their. pizza soon! read more

Life changing mozzarella sticks. I first tasted them at the San Geranno festival in Little Italy and was blown away. They come out straight from the fryer and are perfectly crispy outside and oozing with mozzarella cheese. Highly recommend getting an order (or multiple) if you run into them at an event! read more

Mozzarella sticks were admittedly good but service was very subpar. Asked a guy after paying for food to throw something out for me and he mocked me instead. Fried cheese is not worth that especially if there are so many other better options at smorgasburg. read more

Had at smorgarburg- friend and I expected amazing mozzarella sticks considering the line and hefty price tag of $10 for 4 pieces. Unfortunately, these were memorably not good. The coating was almost burned and oily, and the inside of the sticks were largely hollow. The marinara was good, but, we came for the cheese, not the dipping sauce. Both ate two and were glad we'd split an order as neither of us wanted more of these sub-par sticks. Wouldn't purchase a second time. read more

Went to Smorgasburg in Propect Park on Sunday. This was the second vendor out of the ten stands I tried, it was definitely my favorite. Wish I grabbed more on my way out. It's $10 for four pieces, which was not bad in my opinion. It was very hot even after ten minutes I got them. It was sooo good, finished them in seconds! Wish they had a permanent restaurant/spot that serves these. Definitely one of the best mozzarella sticks I tried, ever. read more

Excellent mozzarella sticks. Large size and very cheesy. However they are a bitt expensive. At over 10 dollare for 4 of them. I think it could include maybe a bit more. If you haven't tried before I would recommend. There is a stand in Bryant park too. read more

This seems like an obvious 5* to me but I guess that's why we all have our own opinions. This was the best thing I had at the Smorgs in Brooklyn. These mozzarella sticks are huge. Perfect crispy outside batter and it's covered in cheese shavings! They are the best mozz sticks I've ever had and if I come back, I won't be sharing this time. read more

Very convenient spot to get some quick Japanese snacks and food.

There were about 20 people ahead of us in line, and we waited for a total of 40-45 minutes before it was our turn. Once it's your turn, your order comes out pretty quickly. Ambiance: This cart is located on 6th avenue and 49th Street diagonal from Radio City Music Hall. The cart itself doesn't have any seating, but there are many tables and chairs directly across from the cart that are open to the public. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this spot!

The first few bites were delicious and the rice roll was super silky. However I felt like since it was shoved inside the plastic container, the rice roll keeps cooking in its own heat, and thus got overly goopy. Still, I enjoyed the cheap snack on the street, but have definitely had better long-standing rice rolls in NY.
