Josh the manager was the reason I will never go to this store again, not only that but will tell ever friend I have in Chico (40 years here) NOT to go to this place. Had a 8:15 appointment for oil change and tire rotation. As I was going in another customer also arrived. I held the door and let them in first. Josh ask him what he was here for (oil change) and could he leave car. Once guy said yes Josh went to computer to check appointments (I assume). Conversation was done at that point and I added while Josh was at computer "Checking in for 8:15 appointment". He looks up and screams "WAIT YOUR TURN CAN'T YOU SEE I'M HELPING SOMEONE"! He said it with a look of vile hatred and discuss. I was really stunned. I told the guy that was a walk-in he could have my appoint and left. Gosh, where do I start? About a month ago, I took in my car to receive a new fuel pump. The day I took it in, the car sounded like it was blowing up underneath my hood especially when going over bumps. Obviously, I'm not a mechanic. If I was I wouldn't have spent a ridiculous $800 for the fuel pump but I did so anyways because my car broke down a couple of blocks away and I couldn't afford to be carless for the upcoming week. Supposedly, it is company policy to identify any other issues present with the vehicle when the company does work on your car. I have even seen them do a test drive after working on your car so I assumed the workers here genuinely care about the safety of their customers and the work they are providing. $800 later after driving my car home, the blowing up sound continued. When I paid almost my whole paycheck on the fuel pump, never did ANY of the employees here once tell me, "oh by the way we noticed this thing and we should fix it." No, instead they took my money, didn't do their job in keeping me informed about issues with my car and went along their merry way. Well, I went in yesterday to complain about the issues (the car sounding like it's going to blow up even before they worked on my car, how the alignment felt very off and sounded like the wheel was going to fly off even though it's been less than 6 months since I did an alignment with them and also how the car wasn't starting the day before even though they said that was what the fuel pump was going to fix). I spoke with Josh and let me tell you, this person should not be dealing with customers. He's the manager and kept ARGUING with me, having a dumb answer for every concern I had, accusing me of taking the car to other car shops between the fuel pump work and yesterday. He also kept telling me that the sound I was worried about was not present when I dropped it off a month ago. UM wth? HOW AM I NOT GOING TO KNOW WHAT MY CAR SOUNDS LIKE AND WHEN, when I drive it EVERY SINGLE DAY?! There's so much I have to say here but bottom line is that Josh, the manager wouldn't just stop and listen to what I was saying. Like I said, he kept arguing with me and talking to me like I'm dumb. I don't have time to be dealing with people who are going to treat you this way, especially when ALL of their services are way over priced. I also don't have time to have to take off work so I can go complain about jobs (there have been more they haven't done right) they aren't doing correctly. Needless to say, I was very frustrated to be treated so poorly. They're not doing good work here, they are blatantly robbing people of their money and they can't even own up to THEIR lack of hard work ethic. I'm never coming here again and I'm going to stop referring people here and telling everyone to save their money and peace of mind because it's not worth it. Here's a little story for you before I go... when I was in the lobby yesterday, there was a woman who was also waiting for her car. She was there before I was and I was there about 2 hours total. She was still there when I left. Basically she brought in her car because something was wrong with it and she wanted to know why. They told her they would take a look, never once informing her that "taking a look" costs $50. Hours later, they tell her that she needs new brakes and that it would be almost $800 (about $765). The woman told them it was too much. The rep then told her he would see what he can do. He walked outside and came back, then told her it would cost about $600. The woman said it was still too much. He again said he would see what he could do. Walks outside and came back. Then tells her he could knock off $50 but that's it. After pondering, the woman decides not to get the work done. It was then and only then, that the rep tells her in a frustrating tone and demeanor that they "have to" charge her $50 for them taking a look. You tell me if this is ethical and you decide if you want to take your car here. read more

Absolutely fantastic service, so glad I took my car here. I found a nail in my rear passenger tire that caused a flat and I needed it fixed ASAP. Big O Tires was recommended by a friend who also just had a flat so I called and they said I could take my car in whenever I'm ready. They patched my tire within a half hour and also reattached a part of the undercarriage that I mentioned had come loose. Josh, the general manager, was very helpful and included a free oil change next time I bring my car in! Can't recommend them enough, super satisfied with the entire experience. I will definitely be taking my car back to Big O next time I need a service done. read more

This is the WORST SHOP I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. Now ..My car pulls to the left hard... AFTERr my alignment. They are shiesters at this shop in Chico. Not happy at all. Tried to charge me additional monies after my Groupon deal. I'll pay the $50 to save you the hassle of dealing with these janky people. I'm reporting them to AAA and the Better Business Bureau. I needed to get my brakes changed along with another major part for my brakes to my car to get my car fixed. At first I thought this place was a perfect option since it was around the corner from my house. When I called they squeezed me in for an appointment and I went in and dropped off my car, I thought this place was so great for accommodating with my own schedule. Long story short, they told me I needed many many things done to my car and it would cost me about $1400 to get it all done. I didn't think that was right and was apprehensive in the first place since I'm a young girl going into a mechanic shop and these places take advantage of that. I had my boyfriend pick up my car for me from Big O so I can take it somewhere else, while he was getting my key they were being very snarky about how I was freaking out about the price for stuff I needed to get done with my car, which is another reason I will not be going back. I ended up taking my car to a different place and the repairs that I needed to be done costed $550 with the new place I went too. Was disappointed to hear that they were trying to overcharge me that much read more

What can I say? They try really hard and are nice enough customer service-wise. But every time I go in here things just seem to like go work g or not work. I decided to replace the rear brakes after they advised me too and it turned into quite a 4 return trip ordeal. Oil changes sometimes go smooth but today I replaced my headlight which set me back an hour longer and an un expected $50- for one headlight. Would have done it myself but thought it'd be more convenient to just do it here. Little thing is they always forget the mileage sticker for the next oil change. Helps me remember. Anyways. If you come to see the work they are doing on your vehicle they will not show you. If you take your vehicle to them it will leave worse than it went in, even after paying thousands of dollars. I went to Big O Chico for a front end alignment, they tried to align it four times. Still had issues with it and tried to get them to honor their guarantee and they refused. I had a specialist look at the printout that they gave me and was told it wasn't done correctly. The manager Josh is very rude and unprofessional. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I needed to get an oil change yesterday for my Lexus Ls430. The oil change here was only about $55 for full synthetic including tire rotation. I usually pay close too $100 at other shops for same service. The front desk guy was extremely helpful and even gave me a discount without asking. It took them about 45 minutes to do an oil change and tire rotation! Incredible turn around time. This place looks like a palace. Lobby was spotless, bathrooms were super clean and not a drop of oil found on shop floor. I would definitely come back here for my next service and would recommend this shop to everyone! Went here because I had a groupon. Was excited to try it, to maybe have a decent place to get my oil changed in town. The service advisor was very polite, explained they do a 30 point or something like that check and do free tire rotation. They ended up saying they couldn't rotate my tires because of the wear, which I was ok with, but I made it a point to tell them I was going out of town. I had just gotten off work, and was there first thing in the morning, so my checking was a little off since I had been awake all night. I think nothing of it, go home to get some sleep and then head out. I get to where Im going and my guy mentioned my tires looked low. I said I had just had them checked. He checked them for me, my front driver tire was at 15lbs, passenger side 20lbs and back tires around 22lbs. Luckily I made it safely to where I was, but that could have caused a huge issue and if my tires were actually checked, that should have been an easy quick fix by putting air in. read more

Great experience! Walked in and got some bad news my rotors were worn into on the front. They got me in on a walk-in basis and had it fixed up on the spot within about 90 min. Pretty reasonable pricing and they suggested a 6-month no interest credit option so I have some time to pay it off and pops 50 bucks off the price. Really want to mention the excellent customer service I got from manager Robert and newcomer Eric who was still learning the computer systems. Friendly, made convo and educated me on some things to look for next time which was above and beyond. Eric, you better check out Cowboy Bebop or I'm reducing this to 4 stars hahaha (jk). Mechanic Tyler rode along with me after I heard a squeaky noise to ensure everything was OK and explained they may need some time to wear in, although of course the noise stopped as soon as someone else was in the car. They quote you $50 oil change then state they need to add a few things and to get you out the door almost doubling the price after they have already started on the vehicle. Then start to argue with you the customer. Horrible place and I won't take it back to them again. I have given them other business before and not treated this way. I wanted to honor my parents that gave me this car by putting the same tires on it they said they had when I got there they said they didn't told me they had Cooper tires that are just as good I said OK then they put a different tire on it and told me that they were troopers they were not they did a front end four wheel alignment it came out worse than it did when it started way unsatisfactory their answer was that there was nothing wrong with it even know that the paper they gave me that had big huge red mark on it saying it would wear out the tires unless it was fixed and the before reading on the same page showed it was perfect before they touched it told me to come back the next day and they would redo it went back the next day and they told me to come back today after that and that there was still nothing wrong with it decided I did not want them to ever touch one of my vehicles again read more

Had an issue there but the owner actually called me the next day, apologized for my poor experience and offered to make it right. He went above and beyond, was very professional and kind. I told him his offer was too much, I don't mind paying for what I asked for but he insisted. You don't find owners like that anymore, that aren't just out for a buck and can care less about their customers. Him calling me was enough, restores some faith in humanity but he did more. Had tires, wiper blades, and an oil change scheduled at big o. Everything was great they got me the tires I want changed the blades but for got the oil change. I didn't notice for a day or two because the car is pretty stationary. Noticed the oil wasn't changed when I checked it before a family trip called as told to bring in the car to get the oil change for free couldn't do it right that moment so told them i would call back. Called back to have breaks done and get that oil changed finally was told someone would get back to me waited a week called back same thing. Finally got a hold someone after explaining the situation instead of being respectful and helping me out the buck was pushed onto whoever answered the phone when I tried to schedule and I was treated like an inconvenience trying to give this place some businesses . Long story short the manger here is rude as hell the staff is obviously incompetent worst experience ever for something so simple don't go here garbage read more
