We would give this place ZERO stars if this was an option. Our friends were coming into Louisville from St Louis and had a blown tire near this location. They had the vehicle towed to Big O and talked with the shop the next day. They explained that they're in town for the weekend but need the vehicle back Sunday if they could just fix it. They paid over the phone to pick up Sunday while closed. We pull up and see this! One of the employees drove by and asked us what we needed because they're closed. We explained, and he called his Mgr. And they said there was nothing they could do but wait till Monday! We are 5 hours from home! What!?!?? After a couple hours of us calling our local friends and runs to Auto Zone (who were amazing btw!) We finally got them back on the road. Would absolutely NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP!

I've taken six vehicles to Certified for repairs over the last 10 years since moving to Oldham County. Since Steve sold the business a year or more ago, I was a little apprehensive to say the least because the service had been exceptional. Steve assured me I would get the same service from Nate, the new owner. There's been a huge turnover in the last year due to retirements, health issues etc. However, I still take my vehicles there because the service hasn't changed. Just as promised. The main replacement personnel are just as good or better. Honestly, integrity found there. They warrant their work! The two negative 1 Star reviews should be ignored. There must have been some miscommunication going on there in both those cases.

Terrible communication and overpriced. I took my car because it wouldn't start because they said…read morethey could look at it Monday. After they didn't call I reached EOD Monday and they said they would have a quote that afternoon but no call back. Called Tuesday and they said the same but they didn't Call back. Wednesday, AGAIN they said they would know by end of day but nothing. Finally Thursday they quote me $1000 to replace a module but ONLY after I asked did they tell me my car would work fine with a new battery. Then I was charges $500 for a battery because they spent hours "diagnosing" the car rather than just calling me to say "Your car is working fine with just a battery but we can spend hours diagnosing everything single thing so you can pay us more if you want." Before I get some reply to explain this away Certified Auto needs to communicate better about availability and the work you are doing. Bottom line: You can find better

I took my car to these guys a couple years ago, prior to COVID, because it had a horrible misfire…read more The guy looked at it and told me, then SHOWED me, the issue was a damaged spark plug wire. He asked if I wanted him to fix it after showing me how simple of a fix it was (99 cavalier 2.2 non eco-tec engine, plugs and wires are right on the front. Super easy DIY change) I said nah, I'll do it but offered to pay him for pointing me in the right direction. He refused to accept payment just because he looked at it for a couple minutes and told me what to do. That's true class right there. I wish more businesses had that level of ethnic principle about them. I reached out to them today (12/12/2022) about an issue with a different car, but they told me they are no longer in the mechanic business and only do towing. Sad times for an upstanding level of service. If they ever check out these reviews, I just want to say a thank you from myself (and others who might not have told them) about how awesome their mechanic service was.

One thing I love about having a mechanic I trust and frequently use, combined with the effect of…read moreliving in a smaller, rural community, is stuff like this: My mechanic does NOT normally work on tractors. He's the kind of guy who will offer you advice on your car as you pull up, just by listening to the sounds it makes. He'll be right, too. And he's honest. I've seen him -- not heard about, but SEEN him -- send back parts which proved unnecessary. A truck driver told him to "just do it, ain't my money," and he replied "We don't need it. If I send it back, ain't NOBODY got to pay for that, or the service." I already used his services regularly. I won't let anyone else work on my vehicles if I can avoid it. But his actions that day, not to impress anyone, just business as usual -- that stuck with me. I've always considered his work exemplary and his prices outstanding. When he tells me the cost of something, I believe him. My first experience with his service was as skeptical as my experiences anywhere else, and when the cost was much less, I was worried about the service. But the truck that first time just kept on running, and kept on. So... as my own tractor saga went, desperate to get it up and running while failing on all fronts, I gave him a call just in case. He laughed and said "Naw, buddy, we don't really work on tractors." There was a pause, and then he said "What's wrong with it?" I told him, and he said "Call me back Friday. We're backed up right now, but I can make arrangements to come pick it up on Saturday, and take a look at her." That just doesn't happen much, and it's why I never pass up a chance to brag on him, encourage others to give him business. I believe in rewarding good service with good word-of-mouth and recommendations. If you live in or near Corydon and you need automotive work done (repair), I could not recommend this guy any more highly. He'll have my business for as long as he's IN business, or until I'm dead, whichever ends first.
