I've gotten a couple sets of tires through this big o; and they keep going above and beyond for me. Previously I was headed out of town and saw my trucks tires were low on air but I needed to be on the road and swung in and they just aired them up and refused to charge me. Again today with my wife's sonata I had a simple problem with the brake lights staying on and i found the problem bought the little part that needed to go in; but my back would let me contort under the dash to replace it. Took it in the salesperson just came out to look; and swapped it out for me; he refused to charge me. It's been a while since I used this facility. And the selling is next level, worse than a used car dealership! All I needed was 4 new tires. They added a Front wheel alignment, something NOT needed. He said they would remove it if it's not needed. I said it's not needed, the car has NO ISSUES going straight! They did the work and charged me anyways! They called me and said I needed a brake flush and new air filter, more B.S., as the car was just serviced months before, which included a brake flush and air filter! read more

Big O tires all around sucks I've always heard bad things about this place gave them a try recently for a tire rotation and they gave my car back with scratched my lug nuts on my car grease all over the handle patched a tire that had a nail in it, still having issues with the tirefigured that was gonna happen. I said something about it and sure enough it did. Don't recommend this place and if you go there, you really gotta watch what they do be careful. read more

Service anyone? That's what you get from the second you call Big-O-First on First Street! My boat trailer tire was not looking good. I was driving on a tire that was not safe. I discovered this AFTER I won't fishing. Coming down the Altamont, I called Big O. They told me to come in and yes, the tire was in stock. For less than 100 dollars! They got right on it and before you know it, I'm ready to go! Thank you Big O and to Dave, the super tech that changed out the tire. Five star for this store and Dave! Dave went above and beyond making sure all my lug nuts were good to go. I was actually missing one and he took the time to find another, put it on and call it good. I believe this place is under new ownership and their practice is to add on the warranty and even print out the form for you to sign. Why not ask first? Is this an ethical practice? Yesterday evening, I was visiting a client in Livermore and my tire was pretty low. I went to a gas station but I wasn't filling it right and ended up letting more air out of my tire. A lady at the gas station told me that Big O Tires in Livermore, was about 4 blocks away. I pulled up and there was a young guy with dark hair and a baseball cap working there (I wish I had gotten his name). I showed him my tire and he told me to pull right up. I told him I did not buy my tires from Big O, that I had purchased them from Costco. He just smiled and said to pull up, and got me back on the road. Now THAT"S SERVICE! When it's about helping someone just because they need the help. I will buy my next set of tires from this location because of that guy. I did, the service only took about 10 minutes, then I went back in to see Greg. Greg was so sweet and nice, he did not charge me for the coolant, and in this day and age that's unheard of. Livermore Big O. is a big ripoff! tried very hard to upsell my wife on ridiculous add-ons (headlight cleaning, new battery that I had just replaced a few months ago, and more) we declined all the extras and were quoted a brake job and 2 new tires. This took over 6 hours. got the bill and they changed all 4 tires. told my wife to wait another hour and they would change the 2 back or give us $100 off of one tire. had my wife in tears because she had to pick up our daughter. I called and was told they were "sorry" but either pay or wait. I paid and told them they lost a customer they have had for a decade plus. the next week their ad was for buy 3 get 1 free on the tires we purchased. What a joke. will never go back and have told everyone I know about this. read more

I've been going to this location since 2009. I believe it's a locally owned business franchise, so happy to support them. I have a difficult time understanding the negative reviews, but I understand things happen, particularly when they were short staffed during pandemic restrictions, and I can relate to receiving less than stellar service in those instances. I go here for tire installations, balance, flat tire repair, and alignment, so those are the services that I can attest to having a positive experience. I would like to give them five stars, but the reason for four is the shuttle service is not consistent--sometimes they can do it, sometimes they can't, and unless you are one of the first few customers in the morning, you might as well plan to leave the car for at least half a day. read more

I have used Big-O tires in Livermore for years. The staff is always friendly and they do a good job of explaining their recommendations. Their prices are on par with other mechanics, but they go that extra step so you feel like family. For example, My son brought his car in for the first time and Greg immediately recognized his name and fixed his issue quickly and at the great price. They're kind, honest, efficient, will take care of your car quickly, make great recommendations for any tire questions you may have, won't overcharge you, and I'm a huge fan of the beautiful carnations I walked out of the store with today. I had a very bad customer service experience here. Dropped off my SUV for front brake pads. The tech called me a while later with a laundry list of items my car "needed," including all four rotors and sets of pads, as well as windshield wipers. I had them put the car back together and took it home to do the job myself. It needed zero rotors (no warping or grooves, no wobble in the wheel) it needed front pads (what I went for) and rear pads were 2mm thicker than factory recommended change thickness. Oh and the wipers were fine....why were they quoting me on wipers? Anyways I wasted a half day off work doing a job myself that I wanted to pay someone to do, all because they wanted to shaft me on unnecessary work. read more

As a commuter who spends 90 minutes a day in my car and an avid road tripper who logs over 30k miles a year, I make sure my car receives the maintenance it deserves from standard oil changes to tire replacement and everything in between. Folks in the lobby always super friendly, always feel like i am getting the whole picture with no hidden this or that. I trust them. Most recently they also demonstrated that they are good citizens in that they took 3 old truck tires that I had in my backyard. No charge! Why did I have these tires? My two youngest wanted to do a project where they convert tires to seats: they cover it with brightly colored rope and craft a plywood top to cover the hole where the rim would go. They did one and it looked fantastic! But their ambitions were a bit oversized: they got more tires than they used. AVOID - I brought in my civic to have a brake pad inspection, I personally checked them before arrival just to see if this is a reliable mechanic shop. I measured 7-8 mm left and the guy that "helped me" said that I had only 3mm left on all sides and that I needed to replace them immediately. He also said my tire treads were very low and that he had a set of USED tires for $900. Complete scam. read more

I can't say enough good things about Big O tires in Livermore and the staff! I brought my car in because I was told I might have a transmission leak. They checked the entire car out from top to bottom and informed me that my oil cap had been a little loose causing the "transmission leak". My family has been coming here since I was little and this is exactly why, they sent me on my way no charge, because they found nothing to fix. They aren't trying to get in your pocket books they are trying to get you out the door safely and fairly! I had a great experience with this location. I called around 8:30 AM to inquire if they had my tire in stock. I had gotten a flat on my way home the night prior. They were able to look up the tire with the information I provided and said they could get the exact match in about 2 hours. They requested a $25 down payment and said they'd called me when they were back with the tire. They were spot on with the 2 hour mark and I made way over to their location. It was about a 5 minute drive from my house which made me very happy. When I arrived there were three employees who greeted me with a smile. I told them I had called ahead and they pointed me to the nice guy who booked my appointment. (I can't remember his name, but I think it was Craig? I will have to confirm that.) Anyways, they told me it would take about an hour to replace my tire. I showed them where my wheel locks were and the drop off of my vehicle was pretty quick. I told them I was going to walk back home because I had an another appointment at 12 and another employee Mike offered to drive me to my house. (Not a service I even thought was available to customers - so awesome!) My car was ready about a hour and a half later. Overall, great experience and definitely recommend!
