I came here for a battery replacement. After the service, my OBD diagnostic port stopped working. However, I had to leave for a trip and couldn't return to the shop for 2 weeks. When I finally got back and asked them to check it, the manager claimed they 'didn't know' if they caused it. Instead of taking 5 minutes to help a customer, he demanded a $180 diagnostic fee just to look at the fuse. The reality check: I drove straight to AutoZone. A helpful staff member used a tool, diagnosed the blown fuse, and helped me fix it in 3 minutes for FREE. Total cost? $5 for the part. It was indeed a fuse blown during the battery swap. Wheel Works tried to charge me $180 to fix a $5 problem they created. Shameful service. read more

Wheel Works - Mileage! - Tires Near Me - Livermore, California

This is a follow-up for the Livermore location: Since my last review, the staff did get better under the management of Steve. The work was always done right and in a timely manner. Steve was no-nonsense with few words, but he got the jobs done. Earlier this month, I brought my vehicle in for a 5-tire rotation and balance, as well as an alignment. I had just been there 3 months before for an alignment. The guy at the counter didn't even know what a 5-tire rotation was! Then he tried to charge me for it, even though I had purchased my tires there! He had to pass me to the manager. I got a call saying that they couldn't do the alignment. Then later, I realized that the wheel balancing was done incorrectly with weights only hammered to the insides of the wheels (a big no-no for larger/wider wheels). The front tires would violently oscillate if driven over 40 mph- it actually drove me into oncoming traffic, but the cars stopped before hitting me. I brought my vehicle to the Dublin location to get the work redone. (At the time I brought in my car, there was also another disgruntled Livermore customer having his work redone too.) It was verified that the balancing was done wrong and that it was "way off!", as the manager described it. Dublin was able to dial everything in and the car drove perfectly after that. Wheelworks (Firestone) corporation sent me a feedback email, which I filled out explaining my experience with Livermore, but I never heard back from anyone, as expected. The word is that Steve moved to another store and now Livermore belongs to Arthur. Much of Steve's staff moved on, so now there's a new bunch of inexperienced dumbbells working at the shop. I will never again return to Livermore. read more

This place has changed. I have been using them for years for getting alignments on our vehicles and they were always great, friendly, timely, stuck to the schedule. Been while since I was last in. But I just got new tires and wanted to get car alignment checked. I made an appointment day before ( they said the whole day was open). I showed up EARLY , they told me it would take 1 1/2 hours ( it used to take 45 min in past). I had a ride and we agree it would be ready by 1 to 2pm. That gave them 3 hours. I told them I couldn't wait till later than that - like 5pm. I was willing to do a different day if needed but they were ok. I was supposedly first in line because I signed up first on the appointments day before. At 2pm I called, and they hadn't even started on my car. " I should be the next one". Jeez. Total ZERO on customer service guys. If you had an issue, knew it would be delayed, how about giving a call , especially when I said I couldn't wait till late afternoon. I ended up picking up the car, no work done. Total waste of my time and the person who had to drive me back and forth. Avoiding this place in future. I'm guessing management has changed. There used to be a couple of "seasoned" men in the office and they were great - very efficient, honest, and ran a tight ship. Apparently not anymore. read more

I had tried calling to get an oil change repeatedly on a Friday (March 28, 2025). I had received some coupons and when I went to open them online, I kept getting the runaround and essentially was just in some digital loop that would take me back to the coupon page after I selected the service and tried to click schedule appointment. It was annoying and frustrating. So, instead I called as soon as they opened on Saturday and was told there were three cars in front of me and they weren't sure if they could do it but I could come in and wait. I went in and Steven Young helped me. You could tell he was rushed, he had a full schedule and it was early in the morning. Yet he still took his time with me as he explained. He laid out the reality of it being a long wait, if I could be seen at all. I explained what it was like trying to schedule but I knew it wasn't something he was at fault for. I had my child with me and we roamed around the parking lot and then into Walmart trying to pass the time. I get a call like an hour later and it's Steven. He tells me my car is done. I loved that he set reasonable expectations with me, so I wouldn't make plans that couldn't be met due to a delay. I love that he did what he could to get me in despite making an appointment. He was a matter of fact guy, upfront, and yet considerate of my situation and ended up being very helpful. The clear communication coupled with his time management really spoke to me. He didn't know, but I hadn't been able to drive my car for months, it was such a treat getting in and being relieved to be able to drive the car, knowing the oil was all good and we were set to drive safely. Set up my appointment online thru their website, I choose the tires I wanted online just to find out that they didn't have the tires for me and those will be in next day, service advisor recommend a different brand at lower price than my original pick, I requested that one of the sensors should be replaced as I was having a warning light on my dashboard, service advisor make the note but the technician didn't catch up with that and have to return my car to worked again after 2 initial hours to replace 4 tires, took them another 45'ish min to bring back my car with a new sensor but they messed up with my engine light when they tried to scan for the messed up sensor, their excuse was that my car was a usual model to get messed up when they scan their obd device, this was happened on a Sunday time, I took my car back to my trusted mechanic shop in Fremont and they told me that the tire shop didn't knew how to reprogram the new sensor and they messed up with my engine light, cost me additional $250 for the labor on top of the amount I already paid to Wheel Works to have done properly, next time I'll stick with my mechanic shop so hey know how to work and repair properly and professionally. read more

I had to go back there and they up sold me on replacing my battery. I paid hundreds when I could have done it myself with battery from somewhere else. This place... let's start with the wonderful staff. They were great. However, my main concern was tire pressure since my valve is disabled. They forgot to check it until I was getting ready to leave and only listed my Vins recommended specs. My cars diagnosis? "Car has bad leak" Ok? Where? What? Why? I needed an oil change and wanted my tires checked. I'm grateful they noticed a leak but they left me with more questions than answers They said "coolant" but also maybe oil? These are two very different concerns. My car also wreaked of vomit after the tech gave it back to me. Not sure why or what happened but it took two days to clear out. I've been coming here since 2018 and have been a satisfied customer. I've bought multiple tires, tire rotations, oil changes, and many other services. Additionally, my family also services their vehicles here. My last few experiences have been less than subpar. I come in regularly to do a tire rotation and oil change. The thing is I have hub caps that need to be zip tied after being placed back on. In my last experiences I was always told they "ran out" of zip ties. This last service I brought zip ties with me and politely asked the team to zip tie the hub caps on before I pick up my vehicle. The front desk team agreed and put my zip ties in the bag with my keys. I come back to pick up my car after being called. I come to find the hub caps are off and the mechanics threw the hub caps inside my car without any plastic to keep the car from getting dirty (they blatantly through my hub caps in my car without covering the last few times as well.) The front desk team called the mechanic David up, and I was met with a sassy attitude and disrespect. He agreed to help me put them back on if I bring them to the back. I drove back there and David is nowhere to be found. Instead they sent front desk team member Sam up to help (Sam is the only reason the review is not 1 star. He deserves 5 Stars.) I zip tie the hub caps myself with Sam's help. I am frustrated as it is such a minuscule request that took Sam & I no more than 5 minutes to do. I hope to see Wheel Works talk to their mechanics about upholding professional standards and going above & beyond for clients when appropriate, rather than argue and disrespect. read more

After calling for a price estimate, I brought my car in to replace one tire. At some point, a lady came out and told me I needed to find the wheel lock key since they couldn't find it. At the time, I was confused because I was sure it was with the spare, but they told me multiple times they had checked, and it wasn't there, so I needed to go in the back with them and find it. Since they had told me multiple times they checked, I didn't bother to look in the trunk and told them I would sort it out and return. Once I got home, I checked the spare tire area and found it within seconds. I was extremely frustrated because I was told multiple times they checked, and the lady working there had been rude to me numerous times. These guys stripped a lugnut on my wheel and expect me to pay to fix it. I've trusted these guys for years and now that management is changed I'm not sure I ever want to go back. Sent my car in to get an oil change at 9 am. Had to call back at 1 pm to see if it was ready sounds like it had been for a while. Wasn't able to pickup until 330 and when I went in I was handed a lugnut and told "This got stripped we can't put it back on. Also, we're closing so we can't fix it today" I guess this is how they treat customers now, sending out cars broken and unfinished. They did offer for me to come back that next day, expecting me to go out of my way and miss work so they could fix a mistake that should have been taken care of before I came to pick up. I brought in my car and a promotional coupon (which was a great deal, the best in Livermore!), I mostly like how honest they were about my car. They checked it out, and mentioned a few things that I might need to fix in the future, but at my leisure. Thank you for not trying to upsell me! Wow, I was surprised to see all the 1-star reviews for this location. I don't think I'll be returning after being a 10yr customer of Wheel Works. I've purchased 6 sets of tires and done numerous oil changes on 3 vehicles exclusively at Wheel Works. Not to mention all the recommendations I have given over the last decade. Seems Livermore is no better than Jiffy Lube now. I took my car in for an oil change/tire rotation. I asked them to check the brakes. When I called to check on the car the service writer told me the front pads were down to 2-3mm and needed to be replaced. I asked how much and it was $200. I said no thanks and he seemed really surprised. It was a weird reaction. So I went home and took the car apart and checked the pads on both sides. All four had 10mm of pad material left. They were practically the same as new. I called in to ask WTF and was told if the tech says they need to be replaced that's what it is. I said I can show you a picture and he said that wouldn't help. It's my opinion, it's not possible to mistake 10mm for 2-3mm so the only explanation I can come up with is they were trying to take advantage of me. At worst, they weren't going to replace anything and just tell me they did and charge me $200. My trust has been violated. read more

I needed help coming home from the airport with a slow leak.. we had warranty from a while back and the team here helped me get fixed up and back on the road. The facility was really neat and smelt like air freshener rather than tires l. Windows were clean and it was pouring outside the day I went and they kept the entrance door dry as a few customers came in and out. It was also close to closing time and one man was being a little impatient but the worker kept his composure and helped the man cool off as he explained that he was in no hurry to close up until he was able to take care of him. He understood is compassion and realized the customer service was genuine. I sat back and observed and the worker then apologized to me for having to listen to the impatient man.. it was all good cause I was all patched up and on my way. read more

I got scammed by these guys. I usually come here for my oil change and or my wheel replacement. A few years ago they offered a lifetime wheel alignment and they even told me that he was "transferable" so that way if I get a new car I can use my lifetime will alignment on the new car. I just got a brand new car and I contacted them and they told me that it was non-transferable. Who the hell keeps their car until they die. We all replace our car at least one time in our lives. After a very long day of helping my sibling move to Livermore i started to drive home and found a drywall screw in my 9 month old tire - (WTH AFTER 15000 steps)! I changed it into the spare but I was uncomfortable driving it home so far so I googled nearest tire shop and with 10 min to close asked if they could help and gave them my location and ETA.
