Update: Garrett from Big O replied that "our records show that" I'd arrived at 10:00 AM rather than 1:00 pm and they were thus not able to keep the appointment. Well, I'd like to see those records. They're not accurate. I was in church at 10 am, went home for lunch afterwards and arrived at Big O after lunch at 1:00 pm. In reading other owner responses to customer complaints I've noticed that Big O rarely accepts responsibility for a poor experience. Its always the customer's fault. That's a big red flag. ****** Big O pet-peeved me. Nice website with a place to enter information and make an appointment for an oil change, with the option to wait for vehicle. When I get there, I'm informed that I'd need to leave the vehicle...there are 5 ahead of me. I went in needing a tire but decided to get 4 and I went through the financing and when I went to pick up my truck I ask why the amount was 400 than originally told, and they said it was financing charges, like a stupid person I believed this only to find out the sales person Jared upsold me stuff I would never agreed to!!!!! Horrible service--one of the worst experiences I've had. I took my car in for an air conditioning evaluation and was told my system was low on R1234YF and had a leak. I was then told they needed to refill it to diagnose the issue, and the cost would be $430. That didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second opinion elsewhere. To my surprise, the next shop told me my refrigerant levels were completely normal. I called back and spoke with Robert at the 19th Ave and Northern location. He told me they had actually filled my system with R1234YF before I left--at no charge--because they were "trying to troubleshoot." That makes absolutely no sense. First, I'm told the system is low and needs a $400+ service, then suddenly it's full and I'm told they topped it off for free? Meanwhile, my original issue wasn't fixed at all. This feels dishonest and misleading, like I was being set up to pay for something I didn't need. On top of that, I had my brakes done there a few months ago, and they're now squeaking and grinding worse than before. When I brought it back, I was told everything was fine--but clearly it's not. Overall, I feel like this shop is not properly diagnosing vehicles and is trying to charge customers for unnecessary or questionable work. In today's economy, people can't afford to throw money away on issues that may not even exist. This is my last visit at Big O: I take my vehicle only for oil changes & have always had no problems but these last few times I hesitate to take it there again! I guess because they want more money out of me so I realize that they are now telling me, I need this, I need that, etc. & I don't believe my vehicle needs a few things they suggested. So sorry, but I don't trust Big O anymore. They told me I needed something (I don't remember) something about the screw couldn't fit well on something & that they'll try to fix it. If not, that it would cost approx. $450. - $500... I told them I CAN'T afford that as I'm headed on vacation for that weekend!! So they come back & said...they were able to fix it..... right! That is SOO wrong to take advantage of women... In June, I took it to another Big O & stopped taking it there as they were trying to get me to pay for struts which I DID NOT need! All the cars I've owned, I have NEVER needed struts on ANY of my vehicles!! I've even taken it to a couple places after that incident & they said I didn't need struts. I hate dishonest people!! This was my first and will be my last visit to Big O Tires. I don't know if all locations operate the same way, but this one experience was enough to make sure I never return to any of them. I came in for a simple flat tire repair. I was told it would take 30-45 minutes, which was perfectly fine. I let them know I would be five minutes away and asked to be notified when the car was ready. Around 3:00 PM, Anthony called to tell me the tire couldn't be repaired and that a new one was needed. That was still fine -- I asked how long it would take, and he told me, "We should be close to closing by the time it's done, but I'll make sure to call you to pick up the car before I leave." By 4:20 PM, I still hadn't heard anything, so I went back to the shop. The place was already closed with no one waiting for me, even though he promised he would notify me. My calls and messages were ignored. To make matters worse, I live nearly 50 minutes away in Gilbert. All my soccer gear was in the car for a 7:30 PM game, and everything I needed for a 10 PM gala with my girlfriend was also in the car. Because of this situation, I missed both events. A friend drove me home, but I couldn't even get inside because my house keys were in the car -- so my only option was to go back and stay at my friend's place until the next day. On top of everything, when I picked up the vehicle the next morning, there was grease all over the white interior of my driver-side door. Worst big O tires in the state of Arizona I had an appointment at 10 dropped my car off and I have just gotten my car back at 1:20 for an oil change. There is no way that an oil change ever takes 3 hours unless you are ordering special oil from a different country. i took my 24 year old Ford F150 in for a brake job to the Big O Tire on 20th ave and Northern in Phoenix. I told the service manager, Kevin, i thought it needed front and rear brakes. After evaluation it was determined my brakes were all good! They then recommended a brake fluid flush, rear shocks replacement and a front end alignment. i felt I had excellent service at a fair price. I got a transmission flush from this Big O location last year. They tell me my vehicle has a CVT transmission, which it doesn't. Then they put the wrong fluid in my transmission. Thankfully I looked up what kind of transmission I had and what type of transmission fluid my Jeep required. And then they didn't even want to flush it again to put the right fluid in. I insisted, because I didn't want my transmission to fill prematurely or wear out before it was supposed to. These guys sound like they know what they're doing, but that couldn't be further from the truth. And now, I wouldn't go back there even to have a tire patched. I've always used this specific location because I appreciated the service and would even recommend them but after today never again. I was charged almost DOUBLE for the service option I had chose because the guy THOUGHT I had chose the more costly option. I would never chose a service I know for a fact I couldn't afford but instead of picking up the phone and using our words to confirm, they just went ahead with the service. Not once was there an apology for the miscommunication, or offered a potential correction. I was just stared at as I had to figure out a way to pay or they would hold my only vehicle hostage. other employees just sat and stared at you stupid too as if they were doing anything other than sitting on their asses, phone I hand and being nosey. Their knowledge is seemingly limited to smaller jobs, i.e., windshield wiper replacement, oil changes, new tires, etc. If you're looking to have work done beyond the scope of standard maintenance on your vehicle, I definitely would stay away from the big chains such as Big O and stick to mechanics that actually specialize in the make of your vehicle. There are simply just too many nuances for 100s of different make, model, and types for mechanics to remember/know everything. Essentially, I was told one thing, but a quick Google search quickly debunked their assessment. Additionally, 3 different mechanic shops all had the same assessment on my issue, but for some reason this specific Big O thought different. Go figure. Nice guys though. read more

I brought my car in to 2420 west northern avenue to have all 4 tires replaced and they did my rear brake as well. Justin Mae's was the guy I spoke to and wrote up my work order. The work was done by Ramiro Ramirez Chavez and Zachary Miranda. I had star wars tire valve caps on my car that were not there when the work was done. Justin Mae's commented initially that he liked my star wars theme to my car and then they went missing. The job took an hour longer than expected and when I called and complained about the missing items, I was told he would talk to the manager and never contacted me back. I took it back the only thing they said we do apologize we fixed the thing for you with not even explaining what's going on. I purchased a set of 4 tires with warranty. Within a couple of months my husband hit a curb which caused the front passenger tire to go flat. Took the car back and had it replaced and they charged for it. The new tire had slow leak. Finally took it back to be replaced. They said they would not honor the warranty because the car needed a front end alignment. Wish the had told us this when we purchased the complete set of tires. What a waste of money. read more

I went there with a last minute emergency. I got a flat tire. I rate mechanics based on honesty, cost, and time. They could have told me I need a brand new tire and I might have believed them. My Tesla received a flat on the 17 we had to have it towed and Big O was the closest. They looked the tire and concluded the rim was shot. They tried to help us locate a rim my tires were still under warranty from a shop near my home in the East Valley. Fast forward rim was not able to be found so I had to order one on EBay. after calling to see how much a tow would cost $260 I decided ask if I could leave my Tesla there. Robert was so kind to let me keep my car there for 5 days free of charge. When I returned with my rim and tire they switched out the TPS and put my new rim|tire on for free. Update: so since I was quoted over 900 dollars to fix some pipes that were leaking I ended up taking it to National Automotive Repair. Not only was it not as bad as they made it seem , it was my rack and pinion that I just got fixed from here . Which means it should've been brand new , but instead they gave me an old one that was leaking ! Thankfully I found a much better place that was not only truthful being that I am a woman by myself but WAY CHEAPER . Not only that but it should've been covered by my warrenty HERE! I spend $194 dollars today to fix the big issue and I would've rather spent that then get something done wrong ONCE AGAIN FOR FREE ! Please don't ever spend your money here . Stay clear of if O Tire on Northern and i17. There are crooks employed!!! I've had nothing but problems since 1/15/22, the date I had my breaks repaired on my Audi Q5. That's one day after my dealership, Audi completed a full inspection pointing out that we needed new breaks. The job was completed on the 15th and since I've gone back in 2 times complaining that the breaks were still squeaky. On 1/29, after complaining about the noises break, I was told that I needed to put more miles on the break to wear them in. I also told I needed a new coolant reservoir tank. Got work completed and was told the breaks were ok, no issues. Merely more time to break them in. Today 2/6 I stop by again because the break are still loud and was told The CV Axle is busted and grease is all over. TAYLOR, the assistant manager, who has been working with me from the start of this transaction, hung up the phone on me after he and I couldn't see eye to eye on my suspicion of foul play. Audi didn't report any of these issues prior my Taylor's team nor were there any indicators from the vehicle of issues. Taylor finally admits that the breaks are faulty and that he can have them replaced under the warranty. However, at this point I do not want my vehicle touched by this shop and asked for a refund, only to be told that there are too many miles in the breaks for me to be refund. Miles that I was told needed to break in the breaks by Taylor and team. I want my money back!!! read more

I been here several times for alignments and no issues. Good price and value until now. I bring in a truck and had an appointment which was confirmed and all. I showed up early. Cone back an hour later and they just pulled the truck in. I asked for manager. Mark Robert's. total jerk. I asked what was the issue and he said appointment is just so they can have an idea of how many are coming in. Appointment doesn't guarantee anything. I didn't agree and said okay let me have number to corporate. He refused to give that to me. I then asked for my truck and he refused that. I was upset and he said I was raising my voice. I've been to this location many times since they opened (thanks to all of the nails and other shrapnel on the Phoenix roads!). The guys that work there are great! Every time I've been there they've gotten my tires fixed quickly and at a reasonable price. The manager Taylor is awesome. Went in for a oil change an end up buying 4 set of tires and I thought everything was good until the next day my car started shaking an the check engine light came on. I thought it wasn't nothing until my oil change light came on. So now I'm wounder what's going on I get to work an noticed there is oil leaking out car I called them spoke with manger an he had to look at the camera to see what happened an he didn't want me to drive my car instead get it towed to them from my job which is hour away wow So I went to a different big o by my job thank god my car made it there an I had to get a Uber back to work because I have to work The other big o said that my oil cap wasn't even put on so all My oil leaked out, they fixed it free of charge but the fact of knowing that my oil cap wasn't on at all just gets to me... After they fixed it I went bacc to work and called this big o an the manger said don't drive my car the tow people will come get it tomorrow to remind yu I'm at work so I end up driving it home an the next morning I went up there to have them make up For there wrongs an the manger got the nerve to give me 3 free oil changes like really y'all couldn't even did the first one. I've had bad luck with this location, but thought I would give them one more try. Absolutely awful. I made a appointment to bring in my vehicle to get tires put on the vehicle. I only had a hour on my lunch break. The staff moved at a snails pace and seemed inattentive. They were asking me about a oil change when I brought my vehicle in for tires. I specifically told them I did not need a oil change and I was there for tires. The person I was speaking to took forever and seemed to be in his own world not at all paying attention to me the customer. As a result, I had to get a Uber and pay $40 to go down the street in order to be back in time to clock in. When I arrived the next day to pick up my vehicle, I was told that a oil change was done and the tires did not need to be changed. I specifically mentioned that I did not need a oil change. I was so upset. The inspection not only showed a alignment needed to be done, but that the tires did need to be changed. Two other shops said I definitely needed tires. I don't know why this shop is so out to lunch, but every time I've gone there, there has been a problem. I recently went to the 7th St and Camelback location where I was able to get my alignment and 4 tires installed. They went above and beyond and made me feel valued as a customer and listened to. read more
