I love love love North Mountain auto!!! They fixed my ac a few days ago and I have told everyone I've talked to since how amazing this place is. They were mindful of the time I was working with to get it checked out (had to get my son from school that same day) and had it fixed in that time too. It cost the same for the fix as other places were charging just to diagnose the issue. I could tell immediately when I called that this was where I wanted to go because when I said the ac wasn't working, this was the first place to ask for context of what was going on. The other places I spoke to told me their (expensive) fee to diagnose. When I brought it in they offered a complimentary Lyft ride so I could wait at home. They texted me the repair details so I could approve it and then was able to come back just in time to get my son from school! I am so impressed at their kindness, honesty, process, and customer service! I rarely leave reviews but made a point to write this because they deserve it! read more

I strongly advise against taking any vehicle to North Mountain Auto. On 04/08/2026, I brought my 1996 Ford Probe GT to this shop for a water pump replacement. Dashcam footage explicitly shows the vehicle running perfectly fine that morning while it was at another shop receiving an estimate. It was dropped off at North Mountain Auto two hours later. On 04/13/2026, the vehicle was pulled into their bay exhibiting no problems, yet it exhibited severe running issues immediately after their "repair." The vehicle was subsequently removed to a neutral third-party shop via a recorded and documented chain of custody on 04/27/2026, ensuring no claims of tampering could be made. Independent diagnostics have since confirmed catastrophic engine failure, including air passing through the piston rings and a 25% leakage around the exhaust valve on Cylinder 5. Far more concerning than the mechanical destruction is the actively documented fraud and attempted cover-up. Forensic dashcam video and telemetry data captured the shop engaging in billing fraud by charging for one type of product (Asian vehicle blue coolant) while explicitly using another. Furthermore, on 04/20/2026, approximately an hour before I arrived to pick up the vehicle, the mechanic is recorded stating to the front desk that he had already lost two days the prior week and five hours that current day on the car and was "done." Twenty minutes later, footage shows them manually overriding factory settings via the base idle set screw (BISS) in a deliberate attempt to hide over 30 documented engine stalls and doctor the vehicle just enough to collect payment. This override occurred on four separate occasions. Additionally, the intake plenum was removed. There is absolutely no reason for its removal during a water pump replacement other than assessing internal damage; it provides no extra room or access and is 100% unnecessary. Both the mechanic and the shop stated they hadn't "worked in that area," claiming the damaged wires and broken clips had nothing to do with their work, which the visual evidence explicitly contradicts. When the shop realized my dashcams automatically trigger upon movement or when the key is turned, they attempted to format the memory cards twice while the car was sitting in their bay: once on April 15th, and again after hours following a "stealth" repair on 04/22/2026. This constitutes direct spoliation of evidence to cover up their actions. When I reached out via text message, they immediately denied warranty coverage, blamed the car, and then blamed me. However, until this week, they had no knowledge that the dashcam footage was NOT actually deleted. If you're going to perform such acts, you may want to research the specific dashcam to know how to format it. Just saying. I have retained a 236GB forensic data drive documenting every action taken in their bay. Now that every legal and regulatory action has been filed and is underway, I am leaving my experience here to help prevent others from suffering the same fate. Scheduled an oil change the day before asked to drop it off at 12. Told me they would call me when done and gave me a ride home. They would call when it was ready. Car is a 2020 RX 350 Lexus with 63,000 miles. Everything was in perfect working condition. At 4 o'clock, I called to see how soon my car would be ready since they closed at five. They called back and said they found a crack in the oil cap which was plastic to replace, one would be $80. We researched through Amazon found 20 different varieties to replace at $16-$20 max. When called back to ask them about the $80 oil cap and why. Said to leave it on and we would take it back to the dealer to get an oil cap. They said it was to cracked put back on. They reduced the price down to $30 and would call when car was ready at 10 minutes to 6 we drove over to pick up the car, never getting a call. When shown the oil cap there was not a crack it looked like someone had burned a hole in it with a lighter. We said there was no oil leaking from the oil cap or the car we just got back from Vacation. Hence it may have been a great $50 oil change but I am so tired of Auto Repair Shop's trying blindly take advantage of sure what is wrong with their car and being aware that deals like this do not exist. We will be going back to Lexus and I will pay the difference for my car to make sure I don't have to worry about it or the repairs are false and not caused by the Repair Shop. read more

it's really hard finding a trustworthy mechanic, my brother referred them so I tried it out. The customer service is spectacular, I've never been treated this well at an auto shop. They got me a Lyft home and back while it was being worked on. They did a full inspection and showed me everything under the car that was concerning. Was able to jump the battery and to be on the safe side took it to the shop dropped the key and told the shop it would not start or go in neutral due to the safety feature on the transmission they had my Jeep all day Thursday and then called me at 4:00 pm asking to charge me $99 per hour for two hours of diagnostic testing! Then called and said it's ready I went by after paying $206.00 and picked up my car went home and parked in the garage next morning did not start again ! Decided to call Jeep and take it to the dealer again after jumping the battery ! Come to find out the batteries were both bad ! So I guess two hours of diagnostics and they could not figure out that it was a bad battery ? Paid $746 got both batteries replaced and a 3 year warranty from Jeep and then called the manager at north mountain explained to him that I was not happy with the service as my car was literally in the same condition the next day ! Asked for half of my money back to be fair to them and he said no ! Because over the past 5 years they have only profited $109.00 dollars from My oil changes ! Absolutely shocked ! They kept my money and lost a good customer at the same time ! They are really great to work with and very helpful in being accommodating to my odd hours in my work schedule. Prices seem reasonable and with some notice, they are able to get your vehicle back on the road running when promised. I took my car to North Mountain Auto Repair after the last place I took my car performed services I didn't ask for and caused more problems with my car than I had before. I asked North Mountain to do a complete inspection to see what was wrong and specifically to fix a terrible squeal that the old place said was air in the fluids. North Mountain said the squeal was caused by the power steering pump. After replacing the pump and bleeding the system along with an oil filter and fluid change it cost $1516.21. It turns out the squeal is as bad as always and I feel cheated. read more

Phillip did a ride around with me and figured out it was probably my struts that were making the squeak he took it for a day figured out what was wrong and also suggested another piece of maintenance to make the right a little bit smoother My car went from squeaking all day every day when I was driving it to not squeaking at all. I took my car in to get the fuel pump & rear shocks replaced. I had to take my car immediately back because it was making a rattling noise by the back shocks. A week later my car completely died, they put a refurbished part and charged me for a new one. They knew I was 9 months pregnant & how important it was to have a reliable safe vehicle. They had my car for over 5 days, they tried replacing it again with the same brand refurbished part. I took the car home & noticed my car smelled like gas again My car completely died again & had to take my car back AGAIN for the third time. They had to drop my gas tank every single time to replace the fuel pump, when I took my car again they said the gas tank was cracked which is wasn't the 3 times they dropped it prior. They had my car for over 2 weeks & charged me an additional $800 for the gas tank that was not damaged prior to them doing the work. This was the worst experience I have had with a mechanic. read more

Brandon, Matt and the rest of his crew are top-notch. I was referred to Big B's by word of mouth, and I couldn't be happier with their service. I own a BMW, so as you might imagine, I am no stranger to spending time in automotive repair shops. Big B's now has 100% of my business. Every time I bring my car to them they are able to interpret my layman's description of the issue, open the car up, and quickly diagnose and correct the issue. The one and only time my car had an issue they could not fix due to the car needing to be reprogrammed by the manufacturer (one of the many joys of owning a BMW), they were quick to pick up and tow the car to the dealership. This occurred during a hectic time at my job, and I found myself extremely stressed trying to figure out how to orchestrate getting my car handled with the chaos of my work schedule. I genuinely can not express the relief I felt when all I had to do was explain what needed to be done and Brandon took over and flawlessly executed getting the car taken care of. No hoops, no yellow-tape and most importantly, my headache was over. The final thing I'll mention is the hospitality this shop offers. The majority of my dealings have been with either Brandon or Matt, and both of them have gone above and beyond to make me feel at home in their shop. While I never enjoy car issues, I do look forward to getting my car fixed at Big B's. Most of the time now I bring my laptop and hang out with the guys while my car is worked on, and I generally will get a bit of work done from their WiFi. Absolutely best mechanic around. My car is 8 years old and I'm bad at maintaining it, shame on me. Consequently, it had numerous needs. I took it to Phillip and he went through my whole car and gave me a complete diagnostic report from small things like my wipers to large problems like my transmission. I was embarrassed that I'd been such a neglectful car owner, but he put me at ease and didn't treat me poorly for it. Working with my financial restrictions he let me know what was an immediate need, what could wait a while and what could wait longer. With his recommendations, I've taken my car in a few times to work through the list of needs. Each time he is professional, friendly and prompt. He is always honest and works with integrity. I completely trust his recommendations and never feel taken advantage of. That's a hard thing to come by when taking your car to the mechanic. So many try to just b.s. someone who doesn't know better and scam them into things they don't need or want. But he doesn't. Every repair he has made has been amazing. My car is back to her young self and I'm so thankful to Phillip. He has since worked on my daughter's car and he's currently working on her boyfriend's car. Sold us a POS truck that they claimed was such a great truck and it lasted 31 days before the engine blew out of it and then wanted us to pay another $2500 for an engine! Screw your business, I could care less about your business! Karma will come to you! They were so friendly until the truck went out and then they acted like they didn't know us!
