I had a battery replaced at Big-O in Ukiah, but I had to return twice before everything functioned properly. Later when I was having service performed at a different shop, I was advised that some of the electrical housing and wiring had not been put back together properly. Not impressed. read more

My how things have changed from my last visit. Maybe this guy Jesse was having a bad day but I really don't know. First I asked if anything was wrong with my car and he said ya you need new tires and I just bought tires 4 months ago hmmmmm weird. No other information was told. I had a coupon for 10 dollars off he told me it was 71 seemed really high for a simple oil change. They don't do anything extra like wash your windows just wham bam thank you mam. I later found on my credit card statement it was $61. So that was a slight relief. Didn't feel like they cared whatsoever. Like I said maybe it was a bad day. As far as I can tell the actual oil change was successful the car is driving nicely. I like this place I hope the customer service improves to what it once was. read more

So, being a guy and thinking I know about cars, which I don't lol, have had an issue with my truck. Yes its a ford I get it lol, however John has worked on it and is very informative on explaining the issues I've been having. Talked to me like we knew each other for 20 years. Very nice and absolute great guy. Then there is big Ed.... Mr gruff down to business kinda guy, but in reality he is absolutely the greatest face for big o tires. Cracks jokes, makes ya laugh but also very serious and informative and explaining your car down to detail. Then there is Rob.... can't say anything negative about this guy at all. Very informative and caring as well. Bed Ed and Rob together, these two will have you laughing so hard you will forget about your car issues.... but the two together lol, well come in and watch them interact with each other. Like an old marriwd couple who deeply care about each other and everyone in the room. Both are actually the best faces to represent Big ao Tires. I bought some Big-O brand tires several years ago at the Big-O Tires store in Ukiah that came with a mileage warranty. I decided to buy locally knowing it would cost me more than if bought online or at Costco but I thought it might be worth it due to better service and not having to travel to Santa Rosa. Boy was I wrong! After about three years, the tires looked like they were worn out, so I took them back into Big-O Tires here in Ukiah to see what they thought. The employee looked at the tires and agreed that they needed to be replaced and he told us that since we hadn't even gotten to the half-way point on our warranty, that they would pro-rate our next set at a substantial savings (by more than 50%). So we made an appointment for a couple of days later to have our tires replaced. Everything seemed good so far, and we were happy with the service we were receiving. When we got to the appointment the owner of Big-O Tires in Ukiah told us they wouldn't honor their warranty because the tires hadn't worn evenly. He said they were worn more on the inside due to not being rotated often enough. We then asked him that if we provided documentation that the tires were rotated enough would he then honor his warranty and he said yes. So we drove home and had our dealership where we service our car fax us the documentation. Note: It is a 30 minute trip there and back and this was now or third trip for this issue. When we returned to Big-O Tires of Ukiah, the owner had yet again changed his story. He still refused to honor his warranty saying that this was now an alignment issue. He did offer to give us $10 off a set of the same tires that hadn't lasted half of their warranty, but that was about 10% off, not 50% like it would have been if he honored his warranty as we were first told they would. I didn't want the same lousy tires, with a warranty that wouldn't be honored, so we said no and left. A friend of mine who used to work at a garage said answer that the owner of Big-O Tires of Ukiah gave us made no sense, that a front end alignment problem wouldn't cause tires to wear the way the owner claimed. He urged me to take our vehicle to another shop and get a second opinion (Our friend doesn't live in town or we would have had him look at them). So I took it to two more places and they both said a front end alignment wouldn't cause this problem and that if there was more wear on the inside of the tires it was very slight, certainly not enough to invalidate the warranty. I will never give Big-O Tires in Ukiah any business ever again. I feel cheated by the owner of Big-O Tires of Ukiah. At first they said they would honor the warranty, then they blamed it on one thing and then another that two other tire stores said wasn't true. I went to Costco for my new tires, saved over $200, got tires with a similar warranty and these are name brand Bridgestones not some cheap-o Big-O tires that don't last. Hopefully Costco will honor their warranty if needed. read more

Had an appointment and two hours later my car is still being serviced. Told them I wanted one tire replaced and they had all four off when I came back after work. The guy at the counter was so busy when I dropped it off, he never verified the work I wanted done. Now it's costing me valuable time because James was too busy to have a conversation with me. Then they didn't even get the tires back in the same order so instead of having two good ones on the front, like I wanted, the good ones are on the left. They may have good prices but if it's gonna be like this maybe I'll just pay more to be listened to somewhere else next time read more

This store tops them all for customer service. I called on Friday about specialty tires and got great advice, they had them in stock, fair price. They advised me that their service is first come first served and since I was driving 30 miles to their store I planned ahead. They had just opened, a few minutes before their actual open time in order to help the three of us waiting outside. THAT was the first plus. I was bringing in a 3 horse trailer with LQ and had been preadvised to pull in the driveway just before their store ( the absolute best idea) as it had a dirt turnaround in back. Rented a car from Enterprise, but it showed up needing a tire, so Enterprise hooked me up with Big O. I was there for 3+ hours for a tire change. Enterprise person was told it would take an hour. I think that was less than forthcoming. The people are OK, but there's something wrong when it takes 3+ hours to change a tire. Seems some folks are "regulars" or just spending more money... Many people came and went while I sat and stewed. When tire changing is all I need in the future, I'm thinking I'll be sticking with Les Schwab in Willits (or Ukiah) where I actually get service...and coffee...and popcorn...and a clean bathroom...none of which were here. af read more

I went there planning to spend $340 on a frontend alignment and left after spending $800 plus and that didn't include tires that I desperately needed. Ordered a set of tires on Thursday. Had them installed on monday. Took about 60 minutes. Comes with lifetime rotation and flat repair. The only complaint I have is the garage guys choice of music, as hip hop was blaring on my radio when I left their store. Lol. read more

This is by far the best automotive service in Ukiah. I've been buying tires there for years, but never thought to inquire about other services until recently. I have a 16 year old hybrid vehicle that has been a very good and reliable car for all these years, but it has about 180 k on it! I was at the point where so many things needed to be fixed that I just didn't know where to begin, including the air conditioner, shocks, suspension, brakes, you name it. I had taken it around for several estimates locally and decided to see what Victor would say about it all. Well, he assured me that he was easily able to fix everything that was wrong, and beat the other estimates by a wide margin, making it possible for me to do right by my car. I am so grateful. I also want to say that earlier in the year I had been putting off replacing my tires until on a very rainy day I had a flat. I got it over to Big O and Victor told me quite frankly that he didn't feel it was safe for me to be driving on those tires. Needless to say, his level of concern got my attention, and I left out of there with 4 new tires! The best! read more

Recently took my car in because the "check tire pressure" light kept coming on. I had taken it to a few different places throughout recent weeks because of the light, including Big O. No one could figure out what was wrong. The second time I took it to Big O, the tech discovered that there was a staple deflating one of the tires. Not easy to spot. Big O repaired it, free of charge, as I had purchased the tires there. Victor & his crew are always friendly, helpful, & efficient. read more

We got four new tires from here a few months ago. One of my tires blew out on the freeway so I had my car towed to the store around noon. The first issue was that they said they would call me when the tires were put on that day, but they never did. I was in meetings all day at work, and didn't call to follow up until I realized that they were already closed. Luckily I live close to work so I walked home. After picking up the car the next day, the steering wheel was shaking badly on the freeway. After doing some research, my husband went into the store to tell them the steering wheel was shaky, and asked if the tires were aligned properly, They didn't look at the car, but assured my husband that they aligned the tires. After doing MORE research, I called in and asked if they balanced the tires. The man I talked to paused on the phone and said that the the machine used to balance the tires wasn't working right at the time we got the new tires. So I had to bring in my car again for the tires to be properly balanced. As I left, the man said he wouldn't charge me for balancing the tires, as if he was doing me a favor for something that should have been done correctly the first time. After the tires were properly balanced, the steering wheel stopped shaking. Overall, it was annoying that we had to be the ones to try and figure out what the issue was. Plus, if we had continued driving on those tires, a lot of damage could have occurred. I've told all my coworkers about this story and to avoid coming here. read more

Victor at Big O is honest and stands by his work. He did some major work on my air conditioning two years ago. Last week I brought it back to him because I was having a related issue, and he totally took care of it for me, even though I hadn't brought it back immediately. He has ALWAYS taken good care of my and my vehicles, made sure that the work was completed right, and fixed any problems with tires that have a lifetime guarantee. I feel good that I've found a mechanic who I can trust, who doesn't charge high dealership prices. As for tires wearing out too soon - whenever I get an oil change, I have them rotate the tires. The rotation is free if you buy the tires there. My tires have lasted a long time, even though I live on a dirt road. I won't go anywhere else. read more

had a flat on a rental car. the agency told me to drive in and they would take care of me. they absolutely did. work was done in 15 minutes. nice staff. great location too. there is an army surplus store across the street and two thrift stores adjacent, so its cheap shopping while you wait. also close to the freeway so you can get back on your way. one more thing. there was a lady waiting with a little toddler. they had a nice table and chairs (including a kid's chair) set outside so you could wait in the shade. very nice touch. read more
