Wow! If you haven't visited in 2024, they've made Big Rail even bigger & better. There is now inside taproom/bar, yes with bathrooms! Oh & inside they do have also some PA seltzers, wines & spirits. A new larger stage in the woods & the smaller stage that was there before. A heated covered tent with tables. Still great music, beer, dog friendly, overall unique place to visit!

Good truck on hand. Attentive bar service with seltzers and wine options available. Great ambiance with open doors towards the back patio area. Dogs allowed in outside area.

I'm so glad I found this place. It's a magical little spot in the woods. Everything is outdoors. We were there on a relatively cold night in December. There was a shelter with enclosed tarps and space heaters. That was nice and not too cold. There was also a roaring bonfire. I just thought the vibe was awesome. I only stayed for a (very yummy) drink because it was so cold, but I will visit again in the warm weather! On to the drinks - I was there with my husband and our daughter. We adults both enjoyed our beers a lot. I had the brown and also tried the barleywine which were tasty. My husband had the stout and loved it. They had hot chocolate for my kid - a big plus! They also had a food truck there that was pretty tasty as well. Definitely a spot you should check out. I can't wait to travel up there again. We were heading down the road to Keystone Safari - if you are traveling there this would be a great place to stop before or after. It's also super close to the Outlets, so once again a great spot before or after.

Super cool and unique brewery concept!! Based in the outdoors, almost in the woods behind the building, this allows you to relax and enjoy him with friends. There are fire pits to sit around, picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, and a few small covered seats to choose from. Off in the corner are cornhole boards and in the back a big sand box for kids to play and build in. There's also plenty of small stages for musicians to play live music, which really added to the fun atmosphere. It truly feels like a big party while camping or at a park. The beer is purchased out of a trailer where they offer 6 or so options. I went with the Old Blue Lager and enjoyed it. Want too hoppy, instead very refreshing and light. A Mexican food truck also is parked nearby for you to order food. I'd definitely like to come back in the fall to enjoy the leaves and chilled weather around the fire with a cold beer.

Lots of picnic tables to enjoy

WOW, I wish I could live here. It's like an oasis of genuine people and beautiful surroundings. The staff and overall atmosphere are absolutely amazing! The band that played (Treebeard Brown) was wonderful and had the audience out of their seats dancing around. And the beers pretty great too Will definitely be back! *Very kid and dog friendly so bring your whole fam when you come.

Wanting to check out this spot for a while. Came here after doing some hiking at McConnells Mill. Perfect place for after hike beers. The atmosphere at this place is unlike any other brewery I've ever been to. This is certainly a good thing. There were beautiful twinkle lights, fire pits, Many picnic tables and seating areas. It was on the border of the woods and it had camping vibes. In the way you feel after driving a few hours to go camping for the weekend with great friends and you finally get there and can relax, listen to music , and enjoy the vibes of nature with a few cold beers! My husband had the two IPAs on the menu I had a red And a brown ale. Our puppy was also very welcomed at Big Rail. We both really enjoyed our beers and spent a few hours just soaking up the laid-back atmosphere, drinking our beers, and having great conversations. There was also a food truck available and that seems to be on the regular. we will definitely return to this awesome place!

Our server was Dustin (or Justin, we weren't sure) who was terrific (ask for him to wait on you, if you can!) I had the Italian Panini which was so yummy! Also the side dish of loaded mashed potatoes with gravy ..... They were just okay. It was quite a cold night, so 3 of us had nice hot cups of tea served in these quaint handmade mugs! And I had a glass of homemade root beer ..... ya can't go wrong! The prices are reasonable: my tea, root beer, and Italian Panini were $25. I think very moderate. Reservations are highly recommended. You can make one online for a party of up to 6. Larger groups must be reserved over the phone. Highly recommend and I would give it more than five stars if I could!

We enjoyed our Cajun chicken pasta (4.5/5) and the buffalo chicken sandwich (4.5/5). The Backpack Stash IPA was really good and this is coming from someone who doesn't drink much beer. The walls had a lot of cool historical vintage photos and antique items. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We had really good friendly service (5/5). We recommend this restaurant! Happy Yelping :)

Tasted a flight of the five you see in the picture. Lots of potential in this new brewing…read moreoperation. I think they are only available in restaurants and bars right now. I tasted them at Iron Mann in Girard. Shout out to those guys for having this extensive selection, along with great, friendly service I'd say check out 1547 wherever you find them and see how your tastes compare to mine... My impression of the beers (always a subjective matter, of course) went down something like this: 1400 Miles From Home - a Key Lime Sour. Very light sour, to my liking, with all of the flavors in the description working together quite nicely Kolsch - another light version of this style. It is a good summer beer for someone who wants a little more flavor than a Bud/Coors/Miller Ohio Heat Wave - subtle habanero on the back end slowly builds, but that's about the only thing I'm picking up. This is a very light beer Hang 11 - a sweet IPA? The bitterness is as advertised. Would love to know the hops involved. Very drinkable, but don't expect a mouthful of IPA. More like a sweet, session IPA in my opinion Shooktown NE IPA - first taste hit very nice. Like most of them, it tastes very close to the description. No bitterness, but like others on the flight, it's a light version of this style. I'm used to a more potent hit of juice from a NE IPA, it's drinkable for sure
