In town now, we just experienced the great customer service again. The store is big and clean and has a good assortment of household products, groceries, supplements, and OTC meds as well. There are very few of these caring businesses still in existence since the influx of prescription drug companies trying to force us to use big chain pharmacies. A mission from God (re: my Wife) My mission, should I choose to accept it (and the consequences are dire if I don't), to find the perfect blonde hair dye for my wife's dark brown/chestnut red natural hair. She's a brunette, and it's bachelorette party season and time for pool parties - time to be blonde! So, I strolled in to Walgreens. Expecting, with my extensive experience with home hair dye, to find "Blonde," "Blonder," "Blondest," and "OH GOD I'M BLIND." Plus the equivalents for Brown, Black, and maybe some blue, green and pink thrown in just for kicks. But what did I find? A dizzying array of brands and colors, all with cover pictures of what the hair dye will look like perfectly on anyone, no matter what color they start with or how long they leave the dye in. What's worse, there's bleach-free, bleached, all-natural - five different number systems for various levels of lightness, a hundred different names for the same shade(s), and boxes of various colors just mess it up when you try to look at the whole collection at once. What's a guy to do! But by the grace of Google and these two thumbs, and a several very handy blogs - one in particular called "The Home Hair Dying Guide for Bored Brunettes" (seems legit!) and I found it. By golly and gosh, I found it! ...I think. ...I sure hope! On my way out I also checked out the lush array of gummies and some of the trail mix, plus I picked a Gatorade flavor I've never tried before (as is my way) and waltzed my chalk-covered, flip-floppered, proud-as-punch self up to that kind lady at the checkout. I told her my story, and she actually was nice enough to act interested, but did *not* share my confidence in my success! Hope is fading! Each time, my call was either picked up and immediately hung up, or I was left on hold for extremely long periods--over 30 minutes once, and more than 16 minutes another time and then was still hung up on. When I finally reached someone, the situation somehow got worse. The woman who answered was shockingly rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. She told me she had been on vacation and had "no idea" what was going on with my prescription. When I asked if she could check with another employee, she refused--not because no one was available, but simply because she didn't want to. She also said she couldn't help because it was "late," even though I had been calling all day and being hung up on. She showed zero concern when I explained how frustrating the repeated hang-ups were. She wouldn't check other Walgreens locations in Hot Springs, wouldn't look into the delay, and wouldn't offer any solution at all. The call ended with her giving me a sarcastic, cheerful "no problem" after providing absolutely no assistance. This level of customer service is unacceptable. The lack of communication, the repeated hang-ups, and the outright refusal to help were beyond unprofessional. I've trusted Walgreens for decades, but this experience at the Central Ave location was genuinely shocking. Walgreens needs to address this immediately. No customer should be treated this way--especially when they're relying on a time-sensitive prescription.

So I have to come here on my lunch break because it's closed on weekends too, but if I take lunch I have to wait for them to reopen at 2:01. The last trip waited ten minutes for them to reopen no big deal called ahead to refill prescription had to do it with the phone robot because you can't talk to real people anymore. Robot said my prescription would be ready yesterday. Got busy took a late lunch and couldn't pick it up. Came by today and lady said it can't be filled???? It's because I carry two health insurances and switch out every time I get a refill.
