Absolutely awful. The worst show I've ever been to in Reno - or anywhere, and that includes California. People say Crossroads is terrible, but actually not only is it pretty good, albeit small, but compared to this nonsense it might as well be the Vegas Shot Show. At least Crossroads actually has guns and even when not, is all about weaponry. The Big Reno "Gun" Show has less guns than anywhere on planet earth. It is, instead, the distillation of everything people hate about "gun" shows now. Nothing but dream catchers, beef jerky, and trinkets with literally like two actual gun stalls. What a complete and utter waste of time and money - while being the most expensive show at $15 per day that doesn't even let you in again, unlike Crossroads which is cheaper and is an all-weekend pass. I can't say a single good thing about this show - though I hesitate to even call it that. It was awful in every way and I wouldn't waste my time back there if you paid me. I felt terrible for the local shops who had stalls there. I'll just go support them in their actual locations. Please do better or don't bother. What an embarrassment. There are still good gun shows out there, even if some are just working with what they can. This was just pure lazy deception, the organizers should be ashamed of themselves. It is getting worse every year. If you are expecting to see a lot of new guns, this is not the place. There is just fewer tables with new guns on display. Most are old or surplus quality gun. Ive always been a big fan of the Reno Gun Show . Its an excuse to leave town ,Gamble ,Look At Guns and Gadget's ,Go To A Show and Chilling Out. So when my Bro wanted to do a Road Trip to the Big Reno Show and he volunteered to drive. I couldn't refuse. So we jumped into his Whip the Beast A -2010 GMC 3/4 Ton 4wd with a 8 inch lift and 35 inch tires and rolled up Highway 80. In now time we pulled up to the Grand Sierra and the Big Reno Show. All kinds of folks in period outfits Cowboys,Soldiers waiting to go work the Gun Show. We bought our tickets and got into a line of about 150 people waiting to get into the Show. 45 Minutes later we were in. Tables full of Ammo, Magazines, Guns ,Pistols , Machine Guns , Animal Hides ,Knives and Antiques . Even a few Gun Smiths and Gold and Silver Salesman. Great show . Lots of Historical Items. Its a must see if your a Gun Enthusiast's. read more

This gun show which is held twice each year at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (formerly the Reno Hilton) is probably one of the biggest and the best. Over an acre and a half of retailers and displays offering everything from firearms & accessories to knives, ammo, books,tapes & DVDS on related subjects, antiques, memorabilias and country/western and Amerind artifacts. Even if you don't live nearby it is worth the drive if you're a hardcore member of the Gun Culture and want to avail yourself of some excellent finds in weapons, ancillary gear at competitive prices or if you wish to purchase ammo in bulk. The only caveat is if you're from some lame assed fucktard socialist state that's infested with the liberal pestilence policies (like CA) which does not seem to recognize the Second Amendment then there are some weapons and high capacity ammo magazines for sale which are illegal for you to purchase if you intend to bring them back to the People's Republic. Also be warned that anyone sporting a CA plate or ID will be unable to purchase said items because all the dealers will tell you to fuck off. Even so, inmates of this socialist dungpit need not feel left out since there are plenty of other firearms and related gear which may be had here which are probably difficult to obtain anywhere else outside of mail order. And for you lazy bastards who think that mail order is the only way to go, you would be missing out on a hell of an event/experience if you forego attending the BRS. Even the security guards at these shows make a big production out of their job. Lots of them are dressed as cowboys or frontiersmen and are armed with functional reproductions of period firearms. read more

Okay, it's twice the size of the Crossroads of the West gun show at the Convention Center. That might be worth five stars, except that they jam three rooms worth of stuff into two rooms, making the aisles so narrow that you waste an extra hour just trying to get through -- if people stop at the table on each side at the same time, you may have to wait a while. This loses them a star. They lose another star by charging $12 per day to get in, or $18 for the weekend. Since you don't know until you go in (and you can't go in until you pay) whether there's enough stuff to make it worth coming back, most people just pay the extra ripoff like I did. Then you discover that it's only two rooms, and you can go through the whole show in about 4 hours without missing anything. The selection is okay. I didn't find what I was looking for, but oh, well. I came out with a few things I hadn't been looking for, so shikata ga nai. It doesn't hold a candle to the (long-lost) Great Western shows they used to have in SoCal. read more

Anyone who attends Gun Shows and understands what defines a "quality" Gun Show will love this show. We buy the weekend pass every year because We actually take the time to stop at every single table. If you are going to the show simply to go in and get a single item like ammo, obviously you won't need a weekend ticket..Honestly the reason I am writing this review is because I am so irritated that others have written bad reviews. (eye roll) I have attended gun shows my whole life and all over the West Coast. As far as Reno and California shows go, there is absolutely no comparison to this one. We have attended Crossroads & Rock Mountain in Reno and they don't even come close in 2 categories. First of all, the Big Reno Show has price ranges for all that attend. There are lower end items like knives and guns for the new purchaser. There are normal run of the mill products that require investment but are still a better deal than shopping at Scheels for example. And most impressively is the high end dealers at this show. There was both a $75,000 painting at this show and an antique pistol selling for $9,000. It's incredible to look at. Secondly, the amount of vendors. Easily twice if not more, the size of other shows locally. As far as the snarky reviews regarding parking.... if you have ever attended any other event at the Reno Sparks Convention Center you are aware that they charge parking... has nothing to do with the show. Either Uber, park somewhere else or suck it up and pay the $10.00. This show deserves 5 stars. End of story. Don't understand why people write bad reviews about businesses that don't deserve it. I wish I could give half of a star but one star in the lowest rating. the organisers need to accept cards at the door for their over inflated admission price. Then maybe people would have enough cash left for all of the sellers hat do not take a card and they (the sellers) could charge a reasonable price and make a little money. WHEN TALKING to some of the sellers they expressed that they barely make any money to cover their costs 1 seller told me that they wanted to charge $80 a day for wifi just so he could run my card on his square device. Prices are way lower on Amazon or Ebay for the same stuff or you can go to half of the shops that are local in Reno and buy the same thing at the same price. It's too bad that the organizers have killed the gun show market. read more

Disappointed to see bad reviews. I have been to crossroads and many other gun shows and they don't even COMPARE to this antique and gun show. This past show, I bought a target stand for me and my family to practice shooting. Turns out one of the parts was missing when I purchased it. I came back the following day and talked to the office people. They were extremely helpful and called the floor manager to escort me to the vendor to retrieve my missing piece, no problem. Now, on to why I will continue to attend The Big Reno Gun Show. First off all, this is a family business that has been passed down from father to son and has always been honest. I've attended it for the last 8 or 9 years (usually the November show) and have never been disappointed. Plus my children love attending with me. Secondly, the quality of antiques and fire arms at this show is incredible. Every vendor has quality materials and the show owners take pride in making their vendors sell everything legally (which is harder to find than you may think) They showcase everything from World War II materials, antique firearms, ammo, jewelry and tons more. I got my son a pocket knife and my father the helmet of a corporal from WWII As far as people complaining about not being able to pay with credit card... ITS A TRADE SHOW. Clearly they don't attend them very often because this is not a rare occurrence. This is a cash business. That's all. These men and women vendors collect antiques and cherish them. They aren't going to sell them on a card to have a percentage taken out of an antique firearm that was used in the Vietnam war. People love to complain. I felt completely ripped off, since they were forced to relocate from grand sierra where the show was great, to the convention center, they charge $10 to park $ 12 to get in, and when your in for all that $22 your greeted with a show that's little bigger than crossroads of the west gun show! A lot of the venders tables were empty, but what really sticks in my craw is when checking their web site to find out when the show is they said parking was free for this event, and then deleted it on the day of the show, and charged for parking anyway.
