The $7 fee for up to 38 holes is probably the best value for mini golf you will find anywhere nowadays. The course was, despite what was said in some of the more critical reviews, above average quality. The layout was spread out in such a way that it was conducive to groups to mingle and have fun. Some holes were designed very easy to get it in the hole on shot 1 or 2, but some were even "par 4" which involved extra strategizing. This was a great way to keep all ages engaged. The one review even said the course was "not kid-friendly" but my kids would strongly disagree because they enjoyed the challenge.

The driving range was fine. We didn't play mini golf so this review doesn't include the mini golf. We went mostly for the batting cages and they were in desperate need of repair. Only 3 cages were "operable" and I use that term loosely. The pitching machines required a kid to put the balls in, so we waited a lot for the balls. The fences and netting were ripped and the bats and helmets were unusable. Go for the golf, skip the batting cages. I'd say they are unsafe, especially with the wasps.

My boys love this place. Even in the rain. The driving range is open. My boys are 16 and 7 and enjoy hours of fun here.

Went there this morning for the first time and it was great. Had a great time hitting and tracking the balls. Nice place.

The mini golf turf condition has really gone downhill over the past two years. I hope they have upgrade soon. Love the driving range.

So my daughter got married at Running Deer last December. As my wife and I live in California, I…read morewas concerned about the weather and the location of the venue which frankly is a bit out of the way. But we arrived with our minds open and our expectations high. Upon entering the venue, I was immediately concerned at the stark furnishings and frankly cheap looking chairs and tables that covered the floor. The wedding, of course, went off without a hitch. The reception began with an open bar and some hors d'oeuvres. There was a raw bar. The clams oysters and shrimp were frankly lukewarm, and certainly not fresh. My wife became ill upon eating one of the oysters. Needless to say I was quite disappointed, but then it got worse. My wife is a vegetarian and as such I ordered a special vegetarian meal for her which they did not have, and knew nothing about. I was very specific about this and when we questioned the event manager, she was frankly quite rude. I forgot to add that before this happened, during the seating just before the wedding, my ex-wife, who is as hostile as can be, made a bit of a scene about sitting next to us. My wife and I, who live in Southern California are quite happy and laid back and could not have cared less where anybody sat. So after my ex-wife threw her little hissy fit out of our presence, the manager charged up to us as if to chastise a couple of school children. She snarled: "Now I don't want any trouble from anybody. Here's how it's going to go". Dumbfounded, my wife and I looked at each other and pretty much just laughed. We found her cartoonish approach to be hideous and her bad manners, not one bit amusing. For what we paid for this wedding the least she could've done was maintain some level of decorum and respect. It was if we were the troublesome junior high school couple and just got caught roaming the halls during study hall. But we laughed it off. However, things got really annoying and frankly made me very angry once dinner began. The plates were rushed to the table as if by an Indianapolis 500 Pit Crew. I mean there's a way to serve a plate. Reaching in, placing it down carefully with a smile, asking to be sure if this was what was ordered and wishing you a pleasant dining experience is always standard at a wedding; but no, the plates were flung on the table and I'm surprised that the food didn't land on the floor. We were rushed through dinner, and the server tried to remove my wife's plate no less than three (3!) times before she'd finished her meal. I had the fillet mignon, which was served less than hot, and overcooked. It resembled a hockey puck. It too, fell victim to the over ambitious servers who stopped by twice and tried to remove my plate before I finished. The desserts were of poor quality and not varied at all. Lastly, after a wedding, it usually serves a venue well to follow-up with the parents of the bride to not only express thanks for their business, but to inquire as to whether their expectations were met or not. Perhaps a comped dinner visit as a "thank you" (My wife and I received all of the above after our own wedding at Scotland Run, five years ago). We've received no follow-up, no "thank-you", or any post-event contact of any sort. Completely tacky. I would advise any couple in search of a wedding reception venue to simply save their time and bypass a visit to Running Deer. Poor quality food, rude staff and dreary atmosphere do not make for an enjoyable time. The quality of the event left us feeling ripped-off.

Our 4 some finished in 4 hours and 3 minutes exactly and somehow had to the ranger tell us we were playing to slow around hole 13-14. There was no group behind us in site and a group ahead of us on the green most of the round. We were also rushed to the first tee box about 10mins early as another group was still getting ready to tee off from warming up putting 25 feet away from the tee box. Vibes are low here I'd play elsewhere.

(The last tee time for that day). I had brought my seven year old son to tag along which he has done several times spanning multiple courses over the last 3 years. Primarily he will tee off once or twice and chip/putt occasionally throughout the round whether it is 9 or 18 holes. This time was completely different and the experience was horrific. My son was disrespected, talked down upon and severely upset by the way Matt (THE DIRECTOR OF WESTWOOD) treated my son and myself resulting in him having a meltdown and crying for several minutes. Matt (The DIRECTOR OF WESTWOOD) came to the 6th green and said "I do not know whose kid this is but I have to get this kid off the golf course." I told him that kid is my son, and what seems to be the problem. At the end of this it lead to myself and my 7 year old child getting removed from the course. The reasoning of this was an apparent liability of riding in the cart. When I suggested to Matt, that my son and I could walk the remainder of then round he immediately turned it down. When I also suggested that I would walk back to the clubhouse, Matt suggested my son and I ride with him back to the clubhouse. (THIS CLEARLY GOES AGAINST THE LIABILITY REASON HE PREVIOUSLY TOLD US). After returning to the clubhouse I spoke to a few other staff members and told them of the situation and they were shocked and appalled with what happened. Pat who is another employee of Westwood even donated a colorful bag of balls to my son and told him to enjoy the round. Matt treated my son like he was a stray dog when he was communicating to him and myself. He threatened to fire his guys and used his title to be disrespectful and demeaning. I am truly ashamed and disappointed that my son had to experience such a horrible situation as a sweet seven year old boy who loves golf. I hope he continues to love the game and is able to forget this experience when he goes to play again. I encourage anyone and everyone to read this post before returning to Westwood golf club and restaurant. I also have hope that owners of this establishment will go through a more thorough hiring when letting personnel be the true customer facing of your business.

Have yourself a fun time at this park!…read more I visited "Storybook Land" with my mother, and 5-year old nephew on a Saturday afternoon on April 26th, 2025. It cost $104.97 for three PreSeason discount tickets. We drove almost two hours from Newark to Egg Harbor Township because we heard great things about this place. It's known for having a fairytale-themed park with lots of creative statues and interactive sets that represent popular fables like "Mother Goose" and "Goldilocks and The Three Bears." The location is smaller than most parks I've been to, which is good for little kids who want to run to every ride. In a span of two hours, my family and I got on everything minus a couple attractions. There is ample parking for cars, and the entrance is bold with its large sign and white and red castle. The park played Disney music, which was soo cute! I remember hearing soundtracks from Mulan, Cinderella, and The Little Mermaid. None of the rides felt too scary for kids, even the roller coasters weren't extreme. There's also rides where kids can feel like they're driving a car, and a train that shows you the entire park. My favorite ride was "Bubbles the Coaster" and "The Rockin' Tug." The only issue with this park are the food selections. The lunch that my family had here wasn't good- at least from the cafe right next to the exit/gift shop; everything from the cheeseburger, french fries, and cookies tasted stale and more on the cold side than the hot side. I wouldn't recommend ordering food here, but everything else was great. I don't think I'll visit again only because it's so far from where I live, but this was a good one-time experience that I was able to have with my family. If you're in the area, I would encourage you to stop by and feel like you're in a magical world!
