Stopped by Bigdash and tried their Kunafa made fresh on the rolling stove, and it was absolutely incredible. Watching it being prepared right in front of you makes the experience even better. The kunafa was perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with warm, stretchy cheese inside--pure cheesy heaven. The sweetness was balanced just right with the syrup, and the flavor was rich without being overwhelming. If you're a fan of Middle Eastern desserts, this is a must-try. Fresh, hot, and made right in front of you--definitely one of the best kunafa desserts I've had. I'll definitely be coming back for more. read more

I visited this location on July 29th at approximately 12:50 p.m. because I wanted to order a Mango Kunafa Cream Cup, which I have ordered through DoorDash before. When I asked if one could be made fresh, the employee explained that they don't always make them because the cream has a short shelf life. I completely understood that explanation. My issue was never that the dessert wasn't available. What upset me was the way I was treated afterward. The employee became rude and insisted that I was wrong about having ordered the dessert before. I simply explained that I've ordered it in the past and that, from my experience, it's sometimes prepared fresh in the back when it isn't already in the display case. I left the store because I didn't appreciate how I was being spoken to, but I came back in a few moments later to calmly explain that I wasn't trying to argue I was only sharing my previous experience ordering the dessert. Instead of speaking with me directly, the employee went to the back and brought another employee out to explain everything to me in Spanish. I had been speaking clear English the entire time. I never asked for someone to translate, and there was no communication barrier. Being approached in Spanish after I returned made me feel like assumptions were being made about me because of my appearance or ethnicity rather than listening to what I was actually saying. I found that disrespectful and humiliating. I also asked the employee for his name, and he refused to provide it. I understand that not every item is available all day, and I respected that explanation from the beginning. What I cannot accept is feeling like I was treated differently because of assumptions about my background. No customer should leave a business feeling unheard or singled out in that way. I hope management reviews this interaction with the male employee working the front counter around 12:50-1:00 p.m. on July 29th. I was a little disappointed in Bigdash and felt like it was an Instagram trap but feel like it has potential so I give it 4 stars until I can try more food items. The restaurant itself was cute, new, and had plenty of seating. However, there was one person serving two separate serving lines so people kind of kept cutting in front of me since I was in the ice cream line. I think this place is more of a viral Instagram trap since the ice cream didn't live up to expectations. Was excited to try this place after eating lunch down the road. Unfortunately, the poor customer service led me to leave prematurely without being able to try what looked like delicious treats. To provide more detail, I waited patiently for 10 minutes, near the sign that stated "line starts here" while the attendant packaged the selections of the group (who were together) ahead of me. She then checked them out. Afterwards, she appeared as though she wanted to serve a couple who cut in front of me but seemed to reluctantly ask me what id like. I ordered one item that would need to be prepared and two that she could package directly. She did not go and ring up the item that needed to be prepared and instead began to service the couple. They spent five minutes selecting items while I again had to wait by the register so that she could finally ring up my order. After minute 5 I left. I do hope I will be able to try similar goods at another location that will have better customer service. read more

I visited the Richardson location a few times so was excited to hear that there's a location in Irving. Visited around 10pm on a Thursday night and there were a few groups inside. Here's what we ordered: Small Ice Cup with Lemon Mint and Oreo. The Lemon mint wasn't as smooth as I remember at the Richardson location. It was still refreshing but it was dense. Oreo ice cream was stretchy, but not as stretchy as I remembered. A bit disappointing Triangle Baklava: overall, pretty decent. Wish we could've added honey to it. But would I get this again? Probably not Red Kinafa: toooooo sweet. Didn't even add a lot of the sugary syrup. It was crunchy and the cheese was great. Just felt like the sweetness was too much and overpowering. We got the Brown Kinafa, three scoops of ice cream (lemon mint, Arabic, and tiramisu), and white chocolate bar. I liked the Brown Kinafa without the sugary syrup it came with. The syrup is a bit too sweet to my preference. The lemon mint scoop of ice cream was surprisingly good. It is a refreshing taste. I don't think it goes well with the other two flavors we had, but we didn't mind that. We were bummed they didn't have the Dubai pistachio chocolate bar, but we got this white chocolate bar instead. We went to Bigdash with a group after lunch at someone's house. The location is pretty nice with decent parking and space inside. We got a piece of warbat and a piece of coconut hareesa. I like that they take out the dessert and serve it right away, unlike some coffee shops where I have to wait 10-15 minutes because they insist on serving the dessert only once the drinks are ready. Anyway, the warbat was amazing. The philo dough was crispy and the cream filling was nice. The hareesa didn't have coconut flavor and had a bit too much rose water. Someone also gave us a couple bites of Dubai chocolate, which was really tasty thanks to the high quality chocolate. Good selection and pretty good desserts. read more

Yesterday I bought two 12" trays from Big Dash Frisco, to take as Diwali gifts for friends(worth approximately $75). I also bought a triangular Turkish delight and Warbat (to go) for personal consumption(worth $8). When I got home and had the pistachio filled Turkish Delight, it turned out to be bitter. The pistachios used were way past their shelf life and had turned rancid. I immediately called up Big Dash Frisco to give them feedback about their stale and inedible item. Firstly I had to go through three people(kept on hold each time a new person was brought on to the call) and had to keep repeating the issue to each person. One of the staff members even told me that "a special kind of pistachio" was used in that pastry, trying to tell me that I didn't know the difference between fresh and rancid pistachio. Finally when the manager Bilal came online, he heard me and said that he will check ( not right away while I was on call but later, as they were busy). There was no offer of a remedy or resolution. When I asked him how he could undo the damage, all he said was "whenever you come next, ask for me (Bilal) and I will take care of you". This is the worst remedial statement when what was expected was an immediate check of that item , and reversal of charge for selling an item that had gone bad. This casual and dismissive approach to a serious food and health violation was not only indicative of the poor quality checks on this place but also showed the discriminative attitude towards an Indian customer. I wonder if this manager's approach would have been the same had it been a complaint from a different section of the customer base. This place was among my favorite dessert places when I first found it. This is,however, the second incident of poor quality and even poorer customer service! Certainly not going back and not recommending it to anyone. read more
