The Auction House is quite literally all the best parts of Wayland, MI wrapped up in one dining experience. When you walk into this simple brick outbuilding of the livestock auction, you might be taken back by how tiny it is really is. About 20 seats wrapped around a U shaped counter. If all the seats are filled, just be patient and hang out by the door, something will open up soon. If you need seats together, it is not unusual to see a whole row of customers get up and shift their seats around to make room for you. That's just what you do because it's the right thing to do. Very Wayland. You'll also want to prepare yourself for small talk. When you sit at the counter, it's more like sitting at a giant dinner table in your kitchen at home. There's plenty of regular customers and it won't take long for you to become one yourself. Amy's food is outstanding and, trust me, you won't go hungry. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito, but people also go nuts for the HUGE pancakes and omelettes. Don't want a HUGE pancake? Ask for a little one...I dare you. See what happens. He took the time to make sure he was getting every order correct, demonstrating his attention to detail; something you want out of a barista! The shop was cozy, easily accommodating my party.
