If you want specialty coffee go to Starbucks, but the coffee was good and they have a variety of teas. The food was delicious. I had the French Toast with granola, lemon curd, and whipped cream (all made in house with bread from the bakery next door). The genius of the meal was the hint of mint in the whipped cream. Delicious! They also have a kids menu and are family friendly. It was a little pricey but the food and service were worth it. I highly recommend Little Bird for breakfast, but they also have a lunch and dinner menu plus a wide variety of cocktails, wine, and beer.

Both were great but the tatin is an upside down French apple pie which was fantastic - served warm with vanilla gelato it was unexpectedly thin and crunchy with the crust. I can't recommend this meal highly enough. It would get six stars if possible.

About 20 minutes after leaving, I realized I had forgotten my box and immediately called the restaurant to see if it was still there. The young lady who answered the phone asked where I had been seated. I explained that I was at the very first table at the front of the restaurant. Within seconds, she told me there was nothing there. Her tone made it clear that assisting me was not a priority. Given that the hostess stand is located at the back of the restaurant and I was seated at the front, I do not believe there was enough time for her to actually check before dismissing my concern. After I sent an email regarding the situation, the hostess responded that she had walked through the restaurant looking for the box. Based on the timing of our phone conversation, I find that difficult to believe. In her response, she also stated that she checked with the servers after our call had ended, which suggests that no real effort was made while I was on the phone. What is most disappointing is that I am a regular customer. Today, I paid $56.00 for lunch for myself and my business guest. Between a server who was largely absent throughout the meal and the dismissive interaction when I called about my forgotten food, the level of service fell far below what I have come to expect. Everyone has an occasional bad day, but customer service is often defined by how issues are handled after something goes wrong. In this case, I felt dismissed rather than helped. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I do not plan to return.

I've been here twice now. First time I stopped in person and the employees were less than friendly. They continued to converse after seeing me waiting and it took nearly ten minutes for them to finally take my order. After what was at least 15 minutes my drink was ready and I planned to sit inside to enjoy it and get some work done, but the seating was uncomfortable and they were playing music incredibly loud. My latte ended up tasting bitter and like they had burnt the milk, I didn't end up drinking more than half. The second time I went was through the drive through recently and no one spoke to take my order so I ended up leaving. Overall the overpriced coffee is not worth your money, and the ignorant teenage employees are undertrained. And if you're not a die hard Christian prepare to feel uncomfortable by the way they shove it down your throat. Two thumbs down. read more

If you are looking for a terrific cup of coffee and a relaxing atmosphere, 317 Coffee is the place for you. Certainly as a new shop, they are going through some learning curves and growing pains. I spoke with Jeff and Kelly (Owners) as well as a couple of their baristas Addison and Deb. They are striving to offer the best coffee and customer experience. At 317 Coffee, the guest is much more than someone buying a cup of coffee. There is an authentic sense of care and concern...and I appreciate those attributes! Another interesting opportunity is they give back...offering an philanthropic alternative. There is something to be said about "it is better to give than to receive." What a great new coffee shop! It is about time that I walk into a coffee shop where I am greeted with happiness and excitement from the baristas versus some of the pretentiousness of the more well known coffee shops in the Grand Rapids area.
