She used to bake a loaf of bread just for me--with no nuts, because she knew that's how I liked it. Walking into her house, I always knew exactly what she was making. The shop has a colorful, artsy personality that fits Saugatuck perfectly. It feels modern without losing that cozy small-town charm. The Auction House is quite literally all the best parts of Wayland, MI wrapped up in one dining experience. When you walk into this simple brick outbuilding of the livestock auction, you might be taken back by how tiny it is really is. About 20 seats wrapped around a U shaped counter. If all the seats are filled, just be patient and hang out by the door, something will open up soon. If you need seats together, it is not unusual to see a whole row of customers get up and shift their seats around to make room for you. That's just what you do because it's the right thing to do.
