I rescued a dog 5 months ago and am getting ready to board him an hour away from Springboro. I realized that one of his vaccinations was expiring because it was a six month vaccination. I needed to get him in quickly so we went to Bigger Rd., Springboro. He can be anxious and reactive and had a bad experience at a different vet. They were absolutely wonderful! I could not be happier with the care and attention they gave my dog. They ensured that he was as relaxed and safe as possible. The facility is really cute inside, and they were very efficient. I am so glad I chose to go to this vet. I picked the location because it is close to my house, and easy to schedule online. I was able to provide a lot of information about his fear and anxiety before we went, and i pre-filled out his paperwork online. Excellent experience!! read more

I have entrusted my pets (dogs and cats) to the Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic for almost 30 years. The veterinarian doctors are empathetic, Intelligent, and knowledgeable! I recently changed from Bigger Road to visit a closer Veterinary Clinic, and while everyone has been wonderful, there is just not the same level of care as Bigger Road Vet Center. I especially appreciate and place my trust with Dr. Alison Crocker and Dr. Elizabeth Blakelock -- two extraordinary veterinarians within this group of top-notch professionals. My dog seemed as something was wrong. I called at 1:15 for advice or appointment and was told the doctor or staff would call me back when she returned from lunch. That never happened. By time I got home from work to call back they were closed. We had to take my dog to the care center in Kettering and she ended up dying. I wonder if she could have been saved or in less pain had they followed up. During Covid , 3 years ago, when my other dog was hit by a car we went there because they were close and our Vet. We thought they could stabilize her. They refused to unlock doors talked to us thru glass said they can't help, no appointment. We made a long trip to Kettering Care Center and my dog ended up dying. This place doesn't seem to care about customers. I will not use them again and would not recommend them to anyone. Go to Dr Beall at Springboro Vet instead. read more

This vet clinic's service, support and care has declined to a point where it is clear that their convienence and making money are far more important than the pets they claim to serve. Since Dr Oaks and several others left this clinic it has become increasingly aloof and internally and financially focused. My 13 yr old big dog got the inevitable hip issues and due to his pain and my age, I could no longer get him in a car. I was told that if I didn't bring him in they would not continue his pain med. They would not make a house call and offered no advice, help or support. It was looking like putting him down was my only option, months before his physical condition would require that. Thankfully I found a vet who showed the compassion to come help us. Avoid this vet. read more

I am in love with this clinic. I get a sense that the employees here have a sincere concern for pets and their care. The location is beautiful and conveniently located near the interstate. They have products for sale in store and an awesome website with lots of products and great deals. They also have grooming on site, but I haven't used their service. I first reached out to Bigger Road because my vet at the time scolded me when I wanted to take palliative care measures for my 14 year old dog. The team cares for my Nikki with wonderful compassion and they have a senior dog care plan. We've been with Bigger Road for a couple years now and are very happy. The vet calls me at home to update me when blood work is drawn and to discuss her progress/plan. Truly wonderful. I've found a vet for life. read more

I decided to take my dog to Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic after my last vet injured him during examination. I was so happy with the service I received. They were very kind and loving towards my dog, and willing to go the extra mile for him. He get's anxiety at the vet, and they were willing to accommodate his needs regarding that as soon as we got there to keep him as relaxed as possible. Not only that, after finding out the problems he was having, they were very extensive in explanation and were willing to answer all my questions. I don't think I'll take my dog anywhere else again! The location itself is very nice, very spacious and so for dogs like mine that get very excited around other dogs, it helps creating distance since he's already too stressed from the anxiety of being at the vet. Each room was very nice too, with a wide variety of treats, which my dog mostly adored their spray cheese. Reasonably priced, for a full exam, nail trim, and three different medications I stayed under $200! read more

Do not sign up for their "plans" they suddenly won't include anything in the plan & for the 12 month puppy plan they renewed it without telling us & said we had to pay $290 to get out of the continuous monthly payments. He's not even a puppy anymore so I clearly don't need the puppy plan. They also wanted to PULL his puppy teeth for NO REASON! STAY AWAY! read more

We have two rescue dogs that we moved to Ohio with in 2016. Both have had their share of medical issues, and one was on stabilized treatment for IBD. We had an AMAZING vet in Chicago and were so nervous about finding a new one, especially since our dog's condition has finally been stabilized. Dr. John and his team are amazing and I cannot say enough great things. They are very thorough, friendly, prompt in answering questions and always offer great advice. The practice is absolutely beautiful and they truly focus on making furry family members feel welcome. They offer special rooms for dogs that do better in a less-clinical room. We've also used them for daycare a few times and the staff was amazing - unfortunately we're just a bit far to use them for daycare regularly. I strongly recommend this practice for every day preventative healthcare as well as specialty issues. read more

Agree with Kathy on their prices. My dog died under their care. Kept giving me hope so I would keep spending money, made me believe that my dog wasn't getting sicker. Instead, she was suffering and dying, unfortunately they wouldn't tell me that. But after months, I couldn't spend much more, my usual vet treated me like trash. I wouldn't recommend this place if you want vets who care about your pet. read more

This clinic is fantastic! I have 4 dogs and they go out of their way to provide excellent service to both our dogs and pet parents. I have lived in the Dayton area, off and on, for around around 20 years. From Miami County to southern Montgomery County. Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic Clinic,in Springboro, was recommended by my pit bull's trainer. Beau had a torn ACL. Dr. Crocker was wonderful. I wasn't convinced that surgery was necessary. After a long discussion, I was convinced that it was best. Another orthopedic surgeon wanted to do more invasive surgery. With little follow up.Dr. Crocker will do the surgery, followed by hydro-therapy, and physical therapy. When I walked into the office, I immediately felt relaxed. The whole environment is calming. One more thing. I was at the reception desk, getting Beau some medication. I noticed a candle ( battery operated).There was a small plaque saying that if the candle was lit, someone was saying goodbye to their best friend and please be respectful by keeping your voices down. I started crying, amazed at the compassion of the staff. read more

We have taken 2 of our big dogs to BiggerRoad Vet Clinic in Springboro. This last visit for our dog was awful. We saw Dr. Blakelock, whom we have never seen before, and we will not be seeing again. Our bullmastiff had an ear infection, but had also gotten sick prior to the appnt. Upon arrival, 2 vet techs and Dr. Blakelock entered the examining room. One of the vet techs began throwing treats on the floor which excited our dog and the other one opened a can of dog food (which he absolutely loves). He became very agitated with 4 adults - 3 of which he had never met - thrown treats and canned dog food on an empty stomach. The vet tech then put the canned food into a bowl that he couldn't even get his muzzle in while the Dr. Blakelock shoved a 6" Q-tip in his hurt ear. We did not bring our dog in for breakfast so why would they be feeding him? They didn't even take his vitals, try to meet him or keep the chaos at a minimum. What do you think happened? He nipped, not bit, the vet tech holding the bowl. The Dr. then became fearful when our dog turned around b/c his ear hurt when she shoved the Q-tip in it. She then called our dog vicious and aggressive, and began lecturing my husband about his behavior. This dog has never shown any ill will towards anyone before. We will never take our dog there again. This could all have been prevented if the environment would have been controlled and if they wouldn't have used food as a distractor. Overall if you have dog under 35lbs or a cat, this might be the dr. to see or the place to go, otherwise we would advise going elsewhere!!! read more

This new location is like a Ritz Carleton for pets. They have acupuncture and water therapy for dogs. The layout is fabulous. I can't wait for my cat to get sick :). They now have grooming services here so am bringing in my cat. So glad to have them here. Their prices are still reasonable. read more

I usually take my dog to the Kettering location but they had no appointments for the vaccines he needed so we got an appointment here. It's tough not being able to go in now because of COVID but my pup was fed a larrrrge amount of wet dog food during his visit and ended up vomiting ALL over the back of my car I'm talking every nook and cranny, between my seats, stepped in it and tracked it all over himself and the car that I now have to get detailed because the smell is awful and I can't get everywhere. He's not an attached or anxious dog and he's been in the car (cross country with me) multiple times so it wasn't the ride that made him sick. He's usually given PB, cheese or a treat to distract him which I get. But I was just a little disappointed to see how much they gave him based on how much came up without them asking me if it was ok to feed him wet dog food which he's never had. They were nice and apologetic when I called to find out what he had because there was so much of it, they said it was some kind that was gentle on the GI system but I feel like any pet owner knows you don't just give a dog totally different food because it can upset their stomach...this really surprised and upset me (and apparently my dog as well). A little more communication during COVID times when owners can't be present would go a long way. read more

I can never thank Dr. Talmadge enough for the care and treatment plan that he set in motion for my 7 year old border collie mix. Big Mo became very ill right before Thanksgiving and none of us thought he could recover. He had lost an extreme amount of weight and muscle. Dr Talmadge devised a treatment plan for Mo and now he is thriving. Dr. Talmadge is a miracle worker, he saved my dog's life! read more

The first time I took my Pekingese here for grooming they did an excellent job. Trimming was nicely shaped, and next to no shedding afterward. Sadly, today once I got home and had closer look, his back end trimming was choppy and under his tummy is thank God out of sight. His nails were trimmed but so jagged I got several scratches. My daughter held him in the car and was covered head to toe in fur. I had to use a lint brush on both her and my dog. Not sure I will be back for grooming. Their bet services are good though. read more
