I recently boarded my dog Barbara there, and I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better experience -- for her or for me. A huge shoutout to Bobby, who went above and beyond from the very start. He took the time to sort out every little detail of Barbara's stay, making sure she'd be comfortable, entertained, and well looked after. It wasn't just the basics -- he made sure her time there was actually fun, which honestly says a lot about how much the staff there genuinely care about the animals in their charge. What really won me over, though, was the communication. Bobby kept me updated regularly throughout Barbara's stay, sending photos and videos of her having the absolute time of her life. There's nothing quite like being away from your pet and getting a video of them happily running around, tail wagging, zero complaints. It put my mind completely at ease. Spanish Springs Pet Resort clearly isn't just a place where dogs are kept -- it's a place where they're genuinely cared for. I made reservations to have them re-evaluated.. a few weeks back.. Dropped them off this morning and they stayed until 3:30.. Staff was friendly and Cece was also there to greet them.. Received a call mid -morning and they passed with flying colors.. There are many advantages of bringing the dogs here and will fit our needs more.. My dogs ( a shitzu and a bichon Frise) are small enough to share one kennel. The staff is friendly and good about following instructions for feeding and medications. I even request for my dogs to walk on leads with harnesses and they oblige, otherwise they use a choke collar which I don't care for. They don't mingle with other dogs and get walked every couple hours for exercise and to relieve themselves. This facility also offers daycare and grooming.

We checked out quite a few places and what set RWC apart is the emphasis on staff training and a carefully maintained staff-to-dog ratio. That means it does book up on busy weekdays and holidays, so reservations are required, which isn't as necessary at a lot of places. Our dog gets easily overwhelmed in new situations, and they've been brilliant at helping her cope and get enough downtime. We love that they have the treadmills, which helps our active dog calm down and focus. Their trainer Star introduced "wait" to her instead of "stay," and it's made a noticeable difference. We've had great chats (in person and by email) with Jodie, the RWC owner, and we love how committed she is to high standards and creating a healthy and safe environment for dogs. I'd say it's a bit pricier than some options, but RWC's commitment to fairly compensating and training their staff is a great thing to see in this industry and, of course, ultimately results in a better experience for the dogs as well.

She's spicy, and I'm not even gonna lie about that. She's a rescue who looks like Disney and can sometimes act like Cujo. However, the staff here loved her, and said she'd be welcome anytime. She's not a general pop dog - she's a 1-1 kinda girl. She's loves her ball, and playing fetch and they took her out and played with her and let her chase that ball and that was all it took to win her heart. It was 7 days and $400+ but I didn't worry about her. I'm so filled with gratitude that she was safe, fed, and relatively clean after 7 days in a kennel. She's missed me and didn't let me out of sight for 24 hours after, but that's to be expected from a rescue.

While Vanessa looked over what I had packed for my dogs, I casually mentioned that my basset was pretty chunky and with kindness and grace she pointed out that the amount of sodium I was feeding her was pretty high and that maybe I should look into changing to something else. She said she believed that if I decreased the excess sodium, pretty quickly my dog would lose her water weight and gain mobility. She was right. The dogs were so happy there and I'm so happy to have found these guys! I had a very bad Rover experience and this place was ALL GOOD. I can't say enough. Love. P.S. It smells clean and the meals are hand crafted every day by Mack and Robyn. So much thought is put in every dish with bits of pumpkin and cottage cheese and if needed supplements. Phillip is the facilitator in delivering all meals and making sure everyone is nice and clean at all times. I could not believe how fast and gentle he is with all residents on board. I fell in love with Tommy and Lavinia as they are Neapolitan mastiffs. Sugar cakes and Samson are so adorable. Upon arrival we were not sure if our Cleo would be a good fit for her long stay due to military deployment. This unforeseen deployment was difficult to let go of our little loved Cleo. But! It was a perfect match made in heaven. We were moved in the positive energy Robyn, Mack and Phillip radiate. The open stretch of land and the view is just like heaven.
