My 5 lb Yorkie absolutely loves coming to Animal Oasis! She gets so excited every time we pull into the parking lot--it's clear she feels safe and happy here. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I really appreciate the curbside pickup, and they always greet my dog Fendi by name before I even say it. One of the things I love most is that they separate the dogs by size, which gives me peace of mind knowing she's playing with pups her own size. My only suggestion would be to add a camera or some way to see the dogs playing during the day--that would be such a fun bonus. Other than that, we've loved bringing our Fendi girl here every week!

The best. The caregivers are amazing, they love our girl and every pup that comes through and by the way, you can have your pup groomed while she's there and they do such a great job check out this sweet beautiful girl she got groomed today and they did such a good job.

My dog really likes this place to hang out with her doggie friends. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. I also like being able to get her nails trimmed before picking her up.

An absolutely caring place for daycare or boarding your pet. My 2 yo standard poodle loves going to daycare in fact, when he meets the staff outside of Animal Oasis (like at Barnes & Noble), he gets so excited at seeing them! His tail wags and wags. The staff is kind and patient. They completely work with the dogs to understand how they like to be treated. I am eternally grateful for the team at Animal Oasis for providing a loving place for my spoo while I'm at work.

Supper accommodating. Needed a good groomer for my 12 year old Yorkie. Animal Oasis was prompt to reply, great pricing, and even better grooming services! Super impressed and will absolutely be back! Can't recommend enough!

I'm thrilled with this place. I have a huge standard doodle and usually it takes 4 hours to groom her and they did it in 2.5. They also only charged me $100 and I'm coming from California so I'm used to paying close to $200 and I think for how complex a doodles coat is, that's an incredible price. The groomer, Kendra, was SO nice. Everyone was so nice. They also gave her the cutest bandana I've ever seen. I arrived quite late because I wasn't expecting she'd be done so fast and they were also really understanding. Great people and I'll absolutely be back.

This place, the workers always seem miserable and you always have to wait outside. Meh, but they do a great job grooming!

Ask the Community - Animal Oasis

Would you accept a dog with anxiety issues due to past abuse for boarding?

Yes, we have cared for many pets that suffer from anxiety issues. Just like the rest of our guests a temperament test would have to be passed and vaccine requirements would have to be met.

Are you accepting dogs for boarding with a letter from the vet stating they are out of flu vaccines now?

No, we do not accept any pets without the required shot records. We do accept titers though for the vaccines that are able to be tested for. If you would like recommendations as to where to obtain the Canine Influenza Vaccine we are happy to point…

Do you offer dog grooming trainings?

    No we do not

I have a 15 pound Aussie doodle that is fully vaccinated. I need to board my dog from 6/20-6/24. Do you have any space?

We would need to do a temperament test first

Our pup has anxiety and we are looking for daycare she isn't fixed yet can she go to day care?

How many dogs do you have in your shop at one time for grooming? Do you know how to groom a Welsh Terrier and have you ever groomed one.

Ranges day to day but typically no more than 2-3 dogs per groomer at one time. Our groomers have over ten years of experience with a variety of breeds and know how to do breed specific cuts.

I will be in Reno for just an afternoon & don't want to leave my pups at home, which is a 2 1/2 hour drive for me. Do you accept drop in pets?

Yes as long as they meet our shot record requirements and you fill out a client application. We ask for any new dogs to our facility please arrive no later than 1:30pm to allow for proper temperament testing.

Do you take in 12 week old puppies daily to allow them to socialize?

We only take puppies that are fully vaccinated which is typically around 16 weeks of age.

Does Animal Oasis-South have a Veterans Discount and how much is it? Thank you.

Yes we do! We offer all active and retired military 10% off all services.

Camp Bow Wow was quick to respond to my inquiries and settle any concerns I had. This was our first time using any doggy day care/boarding service and it the service was beyond what I could have expected. We were nervous, but they did a great job letting us know how she did for her initial interview, answered any questions I had throughout her stay and were extremely flexible with our schedule. My pup was even excited to return when we had to drop her off again! She participated in a few activities, like the pool pawty and sniff and seek and I even got some cute pictures of her experience! They have cameras that you can view from the app, and my pup always looked happy to be there. It gave us such peace of mind to know she was enjoying her little vacation too! If we ever find ourselves in Reno, we will be sure to be back! Thank you!

The good - the female facilitator and the other gentleman were very sweet. They gave a great tour, and were always happy to take calls or answer questions. I think this place is great for folks who work on USA Parkway, or folks who are content with quick exchanges with no feedback. The bad - Unfortunately most of my drop offs consisted of dealing with Thomas, the owner. He made it clear pretty early on that he thought me and my dog had "anxiety issues". When I picked my dog up each day I liked to ask how her day was, as I'm genuinely interested (I love my dog lol) and it's nice to make small talk. Thomas took this interaction as me thinking my dog had a problem, and would make comments about my dog having some type of issue. He constantly rubbed me the wrong way, saying it was incorrect for me to say goodbye to my dog as it would increase her anxiety, and mentioning that I shouldn't call in to check on her. The final straw was today, Thomas had made a comment to my husband yesterday that my dog was "nippy" with him, and I wanted to talk to Thomas about it directly as I was genuinely concerned about my dog showing potential signs of aggression. Upon me asking him about it, he immediately let me know I should probably find another daycare, as I'm the owner he deals with that has the most issues or concerns. I tried to amicably let him know I'm only trying to get more information on the situation, but he kept insisting I go somewhere else since I'm not happy. This was a totally unprofessional way to speak to me, and as a paying customer I think it's well within my right to ask second level questions about my dog's behavior. I will be taking his advice, and going to a different daycare that doesn't view me as a problem customer for checking in on my dog or asking about her at pickup. 2 stars because they helped us out during days we needed dog care, and I'm appreciative for that!

We boarded our 2 dogs for 5 nights. When we picked up our dogs, Mia our 3 yr old was reverse…read moresneezing really bad. We were told she does that when excited. She has never done that!! They then rushed us out as fast as they could. When we got home we knew something was wrong with Mia. She had zero energy and that reverse sneeze was horrible. The next day we called our vet and made an appointment for Mia. The vet on the phone said it's most likely Kennel Cough and we had to wait in our car until they cleared the area for Mia to come in. Kennel Cough is highly contagious. Dogs can get it even though they are vaccinated, which Mia is. After examining Mia the vet confirmed she had Kennel Cough and prescribed an antibiotic for her. She didn't start to get back to normal for six days. Finally she's back to being our Mia. Our other dog, Emma, was ok when we picked her up but started showing signs of Kennel Cough the day after pick up. We called the vet and got meds for Emma. Emma's illness was not as bad as Mia's so she recovered much quicker. The owners have a new puppy in the office area and everyone going in and out are exposed to whatever illness the puppy has. The owners even mentioned the humidifier in the office was for the puppy due to breathing issues. I'm guessing the puppy spread Kennel Cough throughout the whole facility. We tried contacting the owners but it kept going to voicemail. We left a message and have never heard from them. That's no way to run a business. I will never bring our dogs there again and will never recommend them to anyone. I'm actually surprised they have been in business for as long as they have been. If you cherish your pups find another place that actually cares.
